Nikolai stood behind a curtain on a massive stage, behind him stood a sculpture of what can only be described as a massive metal dragon. He breathed in and out, relaxing himself and rubbing the stubble on his face. This was his first major act since he had joined the Jedi, his first major performance since he had been revealed as a force user. Of course he had kept it a secret, no one outside of the Order knew that he was a force user, and that was for good reason.
He was here to make these people believe in something other wordly, make them believe that he was capable of doing miraculous things without any special ability. If they found he could use the force...it would cheapen the effect. It would still be a fantastic show of course, and thats why they came after all, but it would be somehow...less. Or at least thats the way it was in Nikolai's mind.
Slowly the curtains began to rise and the young Magician found himself staring face to face with nearly two thousand Alderaani nobles. Nikolai stared at them all for a few seconds, saying absolutely nothing. Then finally he simply swept his arm to the side and across his body.
As soon as he did so a trail of what could only be described as light formed within the air. The trail formed and shifted itself, and then became a name...his name. It was a cheap trick, but it was a good and safe introduction. The audience clapped silently, and Nikolai grinned. "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to my show."
"I am Nikoli Sivyir and i'm assuming that if you're here, you're completely aware of who I am and what it is I do." Nikolai's voice easily carried over the massive audience even though he wore no discernible microphone or any such device. He grinned at them, and then spoke some more "What you are about to see is not magic, it is not an illusion or a gift bestowed upon me by any god. No. What you are about to see is merely a trick, a trap of the mind."
As he spoke Nikolai pulled a simple Sabacc card seemingly from thin air, it appeared as though from nothingness. He spoke fluidly as the card appeared, and continued on without pause. “I urge you all to remember this as my act goes on.”
Then, without another word the show began.
