Mya took a deep breath and re-inspected her datapad with the information. For now, her position was more complex than it had ever been in the past, and required far more attention to detail. Not only was she president of the Suarbi system, she was also the chair of the Trade League Council. Which, to be fair, she should have anticipated that. She had been the driving force behind the assertion of Outer Rim sovereignty and autonomy. As the visionary behind the madness, so to speak, others looked for her to bring it to life.
In this, it was the first main trade deal with a foreign power not in their local vicinity or formerly a member of the Outer Planets Alliance or the original Galactic Alliance. Rather, this was one supported by the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Intelligence was sketchy, but it seems to have been an external takeover through unknown means. That unsettled her, but she kept her face serious, yet courteous. It was ruled by a monarch, which was another major difference from most of the worlds in the League. But it was a necessary first step. They needed to stay on the good side of the CIS, even if she didn't trust them as far as she could throw them, especially with all the rumors and suspicions that it was run by Sith Lords.
But that had to be set aside. While the official word was they had disbanded, her gut instinct was that the Jensaarai were still around, watching over Susefvi and guarding it against malcontents she didn't know about and, frankly, didn't want to. Hopefully, they were nearby if need be.
She stepped into the room and took a deep breath as she synced the datapad to the projector. She had spent the past few weeks compiling assessments of resources, industrial manufacturing capacity, and the plans for the upcoming shipyards, as well as what data they could track down on Illyria. Data was almost zero, so it was limited, but it was at least a start. She frowned for a moment and readjusted the refreshments put together by the catering staff. If she was going to make a good impression, properly arranged snacks would be helpful.
If there was one thing she had learned as an ore-hauler, then an elected representative, and then president, it was that good refreshments made any negotiation go better.
