The Confederacy.

One of the major powers in the galaxy.

And then there's the Council of Sorcery.

It's only a small particle of the whole galaxy. But they want to be strong. They want to be more powerful. But first of all, they want to be protected.

The Archmage of the Council of Sorcery, along with the two councils which lead the small faction, had decided to sign a treaty with the leaders of CIS in order to be safe and to aid one major faction. Why did they choose this one, though?

Maria had no idea.

But she was there, representing the Council of Sorcery during the meeting with a leader of CIS. She didn't know who she will be meeting with, but she knew that day was important and she couldn't screw up. Every little mistake may have been fatal to either her or the faction she was about to represent as a whole. Heck, she didn't even know what she was supposed to do there. She had no idea of what the faction of Sorcerers actually is or how she should act if some changes are proposed...

She hoped nothing bad would happen.

Sitting in a room in the Combined Clans Building on Bothawui, she waited. She had been told to wait. Wearing her formal outfit, a templar brooch on the left side of her chest, a ring on the fifth finger on her right hand, and heels, she thought she would be fit for such a meeting. Hoped she would be.

A secretariat came to the room, looking at the woman, and asked, "Would you like anything to drink, maybe, before the Judge Magister arrives?" She tried to sound as polite and friendly as possible. That's what Maria understood from her voice. The Witch of Arx Mortis realised the secretariat is tired and would like to sleep a bit, but can't.

"Only a glass of water, please?" Maria asked.

And that is what she got. After a few minutes, the secretariat came with the glass, spoke nothing, and left. Maria didn't even have the chance to say 'thank you' or anything.

Weird.

Taking a sip of water didn't help at all. She hoped it would relieve the nervousness a bit, but it actually made it worse. She felt like she was going to throw up. The feeling in her chest, the tickle she felt, told her that she is really not a diplomat material. Why had she been OK with coming?
