CONTENT INFORMATION
  • Vol I: The first volume of the training program consists of two basic elements, the physicality and mentality of LMAP. The physicality half focuses on strengthening the muscles associated with LMAP, enhancing endurance by training in full gear and simulating combat stress and reducing reaction time through a variety of drills and exercises. The mentality half focuses on having the right mindset when utilizing LMAP, to disable and then kill your adversary no matter what.
  • Vol II: The second volume of the training program consists of some essentials needed for everything taught in LMAP from basic hand to hand combat stances to different melee weapon gripping methods, this gives those unfamiliar with these things a good starting point with giving those more experienced in them a good refresher course. This section also contains anatomy lessons for a wide variety of species for students to learn the best places to strike.
  • Vol III: The third volume of the training program consists of your basic hand to hand combat techniques split into two further sections, offense and defense. The the first part of the offensive section is made up of your basic upper body strikes such as jabs, hooks, uppercuts, elbow strikes and hammer fists. The second part of the offensive sections includes basic lower body strikes such as kicks, knee strikes and stomps. The third and final section consists of the basic grabs, holds, chokes and throws. The defense sections is as well split into three sections, each one corresponding with their offense counterpart and teaches how to block, parry and/or counter the methods taught it the offense section.
  • Vol IV: The fourth volume of the training program consists of the first instruction on how to use the melee weapons of the Legion such as the plethora of different knives and the ax they use as well as utilizing their ranged weapons as melee weapons in a pinch. For the knives they are taught how to use each one effectively, for example the Dells Fighting Knife is for quick and accurate thrusts and stabs while the Yasha Fighting Knife with its spiked knuckle guard is meant for brutal close quarters encounters. This volume also contains techniques for bayonet fighting with the Legionnaires LCAR-01 and LCBR-01. Besides offensive means this section also teaches defensive tactics when caught in a knife fight or bayonet fight.
  • Vol V: The fifth volume of the training program consists of your more intermediate hand to hand combat techniques and builds upon the third volume. In this volume the more advanced techniques borrowed from other martial arts such as Echani, Stava and Teräs Käsi begin to be taught. Students learn arm bars, joint locks and arm/wrist manipulations. Like all other volumes this volume also contains sections in how to counter each and every technique they were taught in the volume.
  • Vol VI: The sixth volume consists of your more intermediate melee weapon combat techniques and like its hand to hand counter part it builds on the techniques taught in the previous level on instruction. In this volume students learn how to attack from the side and behind with their weapons and where to target when doing this, firearm retention and disarmament. In this section students are also taught about improvised weapons and weapons of opportunity such as using rocks, boards, pipes, etc. as weapons in a pinch. Like with all other volumes students are taught how to counter these techniques as well.
  • Vol VII: The seventh volume consists of some of the most advanced unarmed combat techniques that the galaxy has to offer. This includes everything from the advanced forms of Echani and Hapan Martial Arts, the highly effective strikes, blows, dodge and counters of Teräs Käsi, the fast and savage strikes of Stava and the pure and undiluted effectiveness of Mandalorian hand-to-hand combat built around the use of one's armor as a weapon in of itself. This level of LMAP is only taught to the most elite Legionnaires, typical reserved for members of the Advanced Reconnaissance Commandos.
  • Vol VIII: The eight and final volume of the LMAP training program consists of some of the most advanced melee weapons techniques that the galaxy has to offer. Much like the seventh volume the eight pulls from a wide variety of sources including the Echani and Hapan Martial Arts and Stava. Among this volume students are taught how to use more exotic melee weapons as well as unconventional ways to utilize their current melee weapons such as their knives, axes and swords. Like the volume before it, this volume is reserved for the most elite Legionnaires such as the members of the Advanced Reconnaissance Commandos.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Looking for another way to differentiate the Galactic Foreign Legion from your run of the mill mercenary groups and private military contractors, Noah and the upper echelon of the Legion began formulating ideas of what they could do. One idea that sprung to mind was creating a martial arts discipline that could give the Legion of a specific kind of flare.

With this in mind Noah began his search, drawing on the knowledge from martial artists already in the Legion and those outside of the Legion. Several different types of martial arts were integrated into this new discipline from your basic boxing moves to advanced techniques from Echani Martials Arts, Noghri Stava martial arts and even the famous Teräs Käsi fighting discipline.

In the end the blending of several different martial arts disciplines became the Legion Martial Arts Program, LMAP for short. This discipline eschews flowery moves and strikes for more practical and grounded teaching that are expanded on in nine different volumes that include training manuals, holo recordings and written instructions. Each volume builds on the one before it and teaches more and more complex and deadly moves.
