ADVANCED SYSTEMS
(Provide all of your submission's advanced systems, including non-combat items and special weapons, here in a list. Please link to all Factory Submissions used. Stealth technology and other advanced systems may require other weaknesses or reduced ratings for balance. Ensure significant capabilities from systems are included in the Strengths and Weaknesses lists. Examples include: Stealth systems, Advanced ECM systems, Crystal gravfield traps, HIMS, Molecular shields. Links: Starship Weapons, Approved Technology, Shields, Engines)
Strengths:
- Long-range weaponry - The Legion-class is designed to provide a great deal of long-range weapon fire, both to support the ships in its task force in naval combat and to cover its fighter squadrons.
- Fortress - Taking inspiration from Mon Calamari designs, the Legion-class has multiple layers of defensive shielding and armor plating to survive enemy attacks.
- Plenty of room - The Legion-class has room for 12 squadrons of ships, with four hangers designed to rapidly launch ships into the fight.
- Gravastar Reactors - Much like the Paladin-class Star Defender, the Legion-class is powered by a chained reactor system of Gravastar+ reactors, with the extra capacitors tied into powering the ship's long-range weaponry and its shields.
- No close or mid-range offensive weaponry - the Legion-class while boasting plenty of long-range firepower has absolutely no weaponry to fight an enemy at close or even mid-range.
- Forward facing hangers - Because of the design of the carrier, with the idea to rapidly launch ships into a fight, the hangers are forward facing. This gives an enemy a tempting target to attack to neutralize enemy fighter strength.
- Low speed and maneuverability - Because it is designed to be a long-range fortress to send swarms of fighters, the ship is not very fast or maneuverable. An old bantha can move faster than it, and perform maneuvers better.
- Gravastar chain reaction - if even one of the Gravastar reactors is damaged, a catastrophic chain reaction will occur along the entire network.
