DESCRIPTION

Like many thousands of young Jedi before him, Lars Tursen sought a lightsaber of his own.

At the age of fourteen, Lars was finally given the chance to seek his own kyber crystal. After overcoming the trials of Ilum and gaining his crystal, he began the process of forging his own lightsaber. In the process, Lars was influenced by his love of nature and desire to grow closer to the Living Force, personally traveling to the planet Cathar to obtain the wood of its famed City Trees. He would use the wood to form the hilt of the blade within which its internal systems were stored, thus completing the lightsaber.

After serving for a decade as first a Jedi Padawan and then a Jedi Consular, Lars began to realize that modifications were needed. His expeditions as a Consular had brought him to dozens of different worlds across the galaxy, many with large, inhabited bodies of water within which a conventional lightsaber could not function for long. Not wanting to be similarly limited on later missions, Lars set out to give his lightsaber a bifurcating cyclical-ignition pulse feature. After assembling the necessary electronics, the Kel Dor set out to obtain a second kyber crystal, returning to Ilum as an adult to once more endure its trials. Afterwards, Lars would obtain his new crystal, giving his lightsaber sufficient energy to sustain the modified pulse.

In the present day, Lars continues to wield his lightsaber in his functions as a Jedi Consular of the High Republic.
