STRENGTHS
  • Damage: The Lachesis LRM is capable of punching through large amounts of armor, cracking shields and gutting enemy starships. The huge potential for damage provided by the matter-antimatter annihilation effect makes it a powerful strike and artillery weapon.
  • Guidance: The long range missile can quickly reach and sustain a high velocity, and can accurately track most targets larger than a starfighter.
WEAKNESSES
  • Unstable: The missile relies on a magnetic containment field to keep the warhead from consuming the munition’s mass and detonating early. Enough damage to launch systems may cause it to explode in the ship attempting to fire it.
DESCRIPTION

The Lachesis Antimatter Long Ranged Missile is a guided, antimatter warhead that provides long ranged strike capabilities to the warships of Hexus Contingent. They are designed to be launched from capital ships via repeating launch tubes, but can also be carried by smaller vessels in single mounts.

While small compared to other capital grade missiles, they pack a big punch, with a destructive yield high enough to crack smaller warships in half. The Lachesis AM LRM is able to target ships at very long ranges, making them extremely useful as a method of harassment to allow warships to exploit gaps in enemy formations
