STRENGTHS

  • "Dream Sight" The Phase III "Dream Sight" system provides the wearer with a vast array of encrypted communications and scanner systems, Allowing them to see 360 degrees around themselves and detect everything from droids and specific exhaust to the presence of the force within a target simply by looking at them. The Dream Sight data brain within the helm comes with a combat de-ionizer and duraplast shell, Making it practically immune to ionic energies. The built in rangefinder is capable of tracking up to 30 targets at once and utilizing any number of the included scanners and comm arrays on each.
  • "Full Seal" The undersuit and helmet are capable of fully sealing the wearer within and protecting them from the vacuum of space.
  • "Bullet storm" Wrist mounted slugthrower provides the wearer with an excellent counter to lightsaber wielding foes. Slugthrower utilizes 30 round magazines of 4.6x30mm caseless ammunition with low recoil and 1000rpm fire rate. A manual trigger has been implemented so that the wearer may fire even if the electrical components have been compromised.
WEAKNESSES

  • "Electrical dependencies" EMP\Ionic damage can easily disable the multitude of weaponry within the vambraces.
  • "The quick and the dead" The armour was designed with a mix of maneuverability and defense in mind, Meaning there is some sacrifice in protection for the sake of weight. Thus, There are a number of gaps between the main plates, Most notably lower torso and the back of the legs. These areas suffer reduced energy protection, But can still take a hit thanks to the armorweave lined flgihtsuit.
  • "The best offense" The vambrace mounted slugthrower cannot be utilized while the shield emitter is active and vice versa. The shield emitter is incapable of blocking metallic slugs, But will not project while the slugthrower is actively firing and vice versa.
DESCRIPTION
With the Mandalorian union's victory over the sith on mandalore, The time had come for The Nite Owls to leave the shadows and step into the light of their wartorn sector, But for that they would need a defense against both sorcerers and their servants. The Kyr'am'kahla or "Death Mask" was the first set of armour issued to Nite Owls personnel in need of such defense. Based on ancient designs utilized by mandalorians during a similar time, The Kyr'am'kahla comprises of a few large 1 inch thick metal plates designed to protect the wearer from ballistic and energy based weaponry across a variety of battlefields while still being light enough to maneuver in each field. The plates are made from Mandalorian Steel due to the shortage of the sacred Mandalorian Iron "Beskar" after the initial invasion of mandalore and the genocide of the mandalorian people, Which saw many Beskar smiths and thus their forging techniques lost to history.
These plates are then coated in a thick layer of programmable paint with a pre-programmed uniform paint scheme dependant on rank and standing with The Nite Owls. This means that individual members may customize the armour to their liking while off duty and even disguise as non-affiliated Mandalorians depending on their mission requirements, Allowing the Nite Owls to operate with a certain degree of anonymity while blending in with mandalorian society. The standard paint scheme is a solid sky blue with dark blue accents on the visor, A Nite Owls rank tab in red on the left pauldron, And the Nite Owls emblem in bold white on the right pauldron. Most members are permitted to use other cultural symbols on the breastplate or helmet, such as the mythosaur skull, Clan Emblems or the Jaig eyes. Handprints however are reserved for "The Hand" and anyone who has served in that position in the past.

The armour was called Kyr'am'kahla or "Death Mask" because of the organization's habit of keeping their helmets on while on duty. It is taught that a member of The Nite Owls should hide their identity hidden from the their enemies to protect themselves. That is why the armour has been coated in programmable paint, Which allows them to change the armour's outward appearance while off duty, Adding yet another layer of disguise. This is not required of members, But encouraged for personal safety.

(Special thanks to Mellifluous Magenta Mellifluous Magenta for the truly vast "Dream Sight" electronic warfare suite!)
