Intent: To provide Mandalorians or anybody else with a Wrist Slugthrower which could be used against targets with lightsabers.
Development Thread:
Manufacturer: ArmTech Systems Incorporated
Model: AT-1
Affiliation: Mandalorians, Open Market.
Modularity: Yes
  • Different ammo types can be used (Armor Piercing 4.6x30mm+, Incendiary, Tracer.)
  • A small rails allow for a sight and laser pointer to be added.
  • An extended 45rd Mag can be added, although this isn't standard.
Production: Mass-Produced
Material: Durasteel/Silicone Carbide mixture for the barrels to resist high heat and to stop deformities with full-auto fire. Rest is durasteel construction.
Description: The idea behind this whole thing was simple. If wrist blasters existed an alternative also needed to, and the bane of any mercenary or bounty-hunter was coming up shorthanded against a force user or someone who could deflect blaster bolts. So a more viable option was needed. So ArmTech equipped their mercenaries with the AT-1, the first of its kind to give their soldiers a backup weapon against them.

The round selected was a caseless 4.6x30mm round which was renowned for its low recoil due to light weight and high damage as the round was designed to tumble and yaw when it hit a target, causing additional flesh damage. And to maximise its low recoil, a double barrel Gast-Principle mechanism was used, there the recoil of one barrel operates the other, allowing for an incredibly high rate of fire of over 1000 rounds per minute. The barrels were also placed incredibly close, almost fused together to allow maximum accuracy for its short range.

The ammunition was chosen as caseless so as to reduce the overall size and weight of the full 4.6x30mm cartridge, meaning that a different style magazine could be used to fit more ergonomically

And that is the downside to this weapon is the range. The round loses out on energy at long range and at above 40m hitting anything becomes incredibly difficult, and even if you did you'd be likely to do much less damage than you'd expect. And also unlike its blaster compatriot bullet drop actually becomes a factor, and not to mention the fact that you will absolutely chew through ammunition with this thing. Sure, you may have up to 45 rounds at your disposal, but the rate of fire will eat them up in less than 3 seconds.

The recoil is also a varying factor as there is no real stock or grip to keep the gun in place, and relies entirely on the user's strength and also the weight of their armor.

The round works much better against soft body armor such as armorweave but the ++ Armor piercing rounds can pierce thin sheets of steel, and with Armor Piercing Incendiary being one of the rounds on offer the amount of damage you could deal to a single target is rather high.

The magazine is inserted flat at the top of the device and is rectangle-shaped.
Classification: Slugthrower.

Just one thing, clear up the intent. You state it to be a Slugthrower everywhere yet in the intent it's stated as being a Blaster.

Sort this and it'll be approved. Might seem nitpicky but some people will just one second glance over the sub and things could get lost in translation as such.
