STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :
Psychometric: Among the rarer individuals in her species, Kylani is gifted with the ability to use psychometry to read the memories of inanimate objects; including the dead. She is still working on being able to read the memories of the living, but it is a very slow process she has been practicing since her youth.
High Intelligence Quotient: From a very young age Kylani has displayed an impressively, possibly bizarrely, high intelligence. She was solving algorithms when she was child, deconstructing and reassembling ships and technical readouts by the time she was twelve and capable of deciphering a variety of decryptions by the time she was fifteen.
Socially Awkward: While this doesn't translate into a complete incompetence in social situations, it often translates to her not knowing exactly what to do or say when in a very tense situation. Often stumbling over herself in areas of flirtation, command and high society in stark contrast to her sharp and unbreakable focus while behind a data terminal.
Orphan: While she doesn't remember which factions they were, or what parties were involved particularly, Kylani knows that a war took both her parents from her. Her father a soldier in service to a just cause and her mother a bystander made to suffer because of her father's choices. She has been on her own for over ten years.
Force Ineptitude: While she is Force Sensitive, like most who inherit the trait of psychometry in her species, she has very little practice with the Force. As such she has very little control and has often turned to technology to remedy this problem.
APPEARANCE:
A five foot and six inch young woman with a modestly fit and muscular build, she is easily mistaken for human at a glance. A mistake that is due to the fact that she did not inherit the facial markings that had run in her father's clan. That said, she has dark hair and tanned skin with a bit of weathering due to her time spent roaming the galaxy in service to a variety of factions to make ends meet for supplies. She often wears dark clothing accompanied by a variety of leathers and cloth in that at times let her show off her figure when she's feeling relaxed; in truth she often prefers to keep most of herself covered and reveals part of her figure inadvertently.
BIOGRAPHY:
Born on the planet of Kiffu, Kylani was the daughter of a human mother and a Kiffar father and born into an almost peaceful life. For the first fifteen years of her life she was free from the plagues and wars of the galaxy and free to explore her incredibly high intelligence. While her intelligence brought anxiety and fear to her parents over the idea that someone might come looking for such a brilliant child, she experienced no such troubles until war found it's way to her home worlds doorstep.
A war that would take her father and mother with it when it passed.
Her father joined the military in order to protect his family and world against the attackers while her mother was tortured for her refusal to present her child to that same military to assist in their efforts. In the end both of her parents were taken from her by very different means and the universal reality that she was alone eventually caved in upon her within the first few years following the events. Her father killed by his enemies and her mother succumbing to her injuries and fear while she, Kylani, remained hidden remotely.
Alone and with no one to turn to, Kylani scrounged together what she could and made her way off world. A venture that would bring her intimately close with the skill of piloting. She would the only real power she had a grasp on to learn how to fly, how to survive and how to avoid those who would capture her. Through the power of psychometry she was able to track others and even understand those that came before her in areas that she wished to know more about.
In time she would take on the careers of slicer and engineer, each for their merits in regards to inanimate materials. With the knack for cracking codes and ability to see what the previous owners had done to cover their tracks she found there was little to nothing she couldn't break into. As for engineering, well, she became quite familiar with the various ways to weld, mold and build structures and ships by understanding how others had done so before her.
For ten years she searched the galaxy for a purpose by sifting through numerous groups and causes. It was during a trip to the Unknown Regions, however, that she found something she felt a drive to rally behind. A message had gone out deep in the Unknown Regions about an Eternal Empire and the notion of a rebel cause rising up against it.
