DESCRIPTION

The Battles of Dantooine and Bastion were pivotal moments of experience for the Knights of the Imperial Force Corps, where they faced the Sith in greater numbers than ever before. Many Knights found themselves in positions where using only their lightsabers was difficult, if not impossible.

At the Battle of Dantooine, Imperial Knights were overrun and pushed from the dark, winding halls of Sith Temple. They fought room by room before the Sith finally drove them from Dantooine entirely.

At the Second Battle of Bastion, Knights in the cramped sewers of Ravelin desperately held the line against the horde of Sith and their monstrous Sithspawn. Sith surrounded them in every tunnel and cistern with a tactical and numerical advantage. The Imperial Knights had to hold the line through sheer willpower and determination, and lost many good soldiers.

The Imperial Force Corps did not want these events to occur again, so the pistol was commission with the Technoid Manufactorum.

These desperate CQB situations inspired the commission of a new weapon to even the playing field when Imperial Knights are outnumbered. The ST-40 is the new signature sidearm for servicemen of the Force Corps, designed specifically for fighting and deterring lightsaber wielders. The physical slugs fired by the pistol cannot be deflected like blaster bolts, and blocking the metal projectiles with a saber has a high likelihood of causing shrapnel to fly into the defender.
