- Combination of a B1-series Battle Droid and a KX-series Security Droid
- Can be stored in a folded up configuration to help reduce space requirements
- Supremely cheap: The KX/B1 Monster Droid is designed to be produced as inexpensively as possible, allowing it to be manufactured in large numbers
- Versatile: Because it has a humanoid design, the KX/B1 Monster Droid is capable of performing a variety of tasks
- Small: The KX/B1 Monster Droid is a relatively small design, making it more difficult to hit at longer distances
- Origami: When not in use, the KX/B1 Monster Droid can be folded up to save on space requirements
- Supremely cheap: The KX/B1 Monster Droid is designed to be produced as inexpensively as possible, and it shows in the droids construction and overall quality
- Stupid: KX/B1 Monster Droids are rather unintelligence, and do not perform well against more critical thinking enemies
- Weak: KX/B1 Monster Droids are quite fragile, and are able to be destroyed by most types of weapons and attacks
- Inaccurate: Though they can use a variety of different weapons, KX/B1 Monster Droids can struggle to hit targets at long distances
During the Clone Wars, B1 Battle Droids were produced by the billions, seeing combat nearly across the entire galaxy. At the end of the conflict, most of these droid were shut down by the Galactic Empire and sent to planets like Mahporeem to be scrapped for parts. The Empire would go on to declare B1 Battle Droids illegal, and would go to great lengths to ensure that all models of the droid were destroyed with extreme prejudice.
However, the Empire soon realized that these plentiful and inexpensive droids could be reprogrammed for a variety of different tasks, and soon contracted Mahporeem to modify them for Imperial use. To get around the ban that they instituted, the Empire had Mahporeem install spare KX-series Security Droid heads to the bodies of B1 Battle Droids, creating the KX/B1 "Monster Droid". Being a "new" model of droid, the Empire's ban no longer applied to it and they would become common sights across Imperial sectors.
Mahporeem uses these droids to supplement their military forces, though the droids make relatively poor combatants and are generally used to draw enemy fire or garrison already secured areas. Expendable and inexpensive, the Imperial Remnant is able to muster large amounts of these droids from their stockpiles of Clone Wars vintage supplies, and has decided to offer some of these droids for sale to the customers of the N&Z Umbrella Corporation.
