SPECIAL FEATURES

  • Jump Capability
  • High Mobility/Maneuverability
  • All-Terrain
  • Droid Brain Support
STRENGTHS |
  • | Ravage | The Despoiler is designed to wreak havoc on tanks and other armored vehicles. The combination of omni-directional movement, fast speeds and ability to traverse nearly any terrain with vertical mobility from jumping make it extremely difficult for larger vehicles with slow turret/traverse speeds to hit it. Even then, its ability to skate around the battlefield make it exceptionally difficult to target with any type of vehicle/weapon to begin with. Its armaments are designed to neutralize and perforate tanks quickly and efficiently, while also being able to take out columns of infantry.
  • | Modularity | The Despoiler is a versatile field unit. In addition to being equipped with weapons meant to eliminate vehicles and infantry, the armaments of the Despoiler can be swapped out to suit the needs of the battlefield. Have an aerial threat? Not an issue as the Despoiler can swap in anti-air rocket pods. Need mobile artillery to hammer and chip away at an entrenched position? The Despoiler can swap out for artillery grade weaponry.
WEAKNESSES |
  • | Lightly Armored | As expected, the Despoiler sacrificed much armor and defensive capabilities to ensure that its speed and maneuverability were kept intact. A well placed and sufficiently powered shot can penetrate its thin hull and disrupt a number of functions.
  • | Co-Piloting | Though the Despoiler only requires a single organic pilot to operate sufficiently, the use of a droid brain significantly affects its efficiency on the battlefield as the droid brain supplements the pilot with predictive firing trajectories, warning the pilot of lock-ons, maintaining the pilot's general sense of direction while zooming around the battlefield. Damage to the droid brain can greatly reduce the effectiveness of the Despoiler on the battlefield.

DESCRIPTION

The KVX 'Despoiler' Rapid Assault Vehicle is as its name implies; a quicky response to any form of vehicular threats that can be modified to suit battlefield needs. It is a versatile tool that serves a vital function on the frontlines. primarily going after larger vehicles with difficult to track speed and mobility supplemented with enough firepower to bring down vehicles larger than them. With its basic loadout, featuring four individual medium laser cannons grouped into two pairs with an ion disruptor cannon mounted on each of the apertures, the Despoiler packs enough firepower to punch holes and perforate a number of tanks as well as the firepower to wipe out entire columns of infantry.
Despoilers are quadrupedal in nature, allowing them to move across any terrain, supported with repulsorlifts so that they can glide across the battlefield while maintaining high speeds. The legs have the ability to effectively 'jump' allowing for Despoilers to anticipate and dodge away from being directly hit by something like a tank's main cannon. The ride may be a bit bumpy, but there are several systems to ensure the pilot will be as comfortable as possible when zipping around and landing from reasonable heights. Despoilers are especially effective against slow or stationary targets, being able to drift circles around them while tearing them apart.
The Despoiler can be modified with a number of different armaments in order to quickly adapt to threats, as well as confuse enemies on what they should be concerned about (anti-air/anti-ground threats), the use of Despoilers keeps the enemy guessing what they are safe sending in. Despoilers are rather small, and have room for one pilot, sacrificing armor in favor of speed and maneuverability. While the armor is thick enough to handle small arms fire from infantry, they typically can be breached by anything mounted on a vehicle. Despoiler pilots are aided by a droid brain which processes a number of different functions such as predictive firing trajectories (Since Despoilers have to be able to hit a moving target while moving quickly), external threats such as lock-ons so that they can move to avoid/dodge laser fire/rockets/missiles and inform the pilot about their surrounding environment so that they don't crash into a cliff while spinning around during a high-speed maneuver.
