A rolling slab of armor powered by six in-wheel motors designed to traverse battlefields, few things get in the Krakkiss’ way that it can’t power through or over. With the motors in the large armored wheels, space is freed up inside the vehicle for crew and passengers while decentralizing the drive train. Multiple motors can be knocked out and the Krakkiss will still be capable of soldering on. Built for a wide range of environments and planetary conditions, there are few environments the Krakkiss cannot conquer. The APC is even capable of fording rivers, submerging most of its hull as it crosses.
The driver and commander each have a hatch, with the commander having an optional pintle mounted laser repeater. Passengers have a rear ramp for a speedy exit or can traverse through armored clamshell side hatches that can double as small airlocks between the outer armored doors and inner blast doors. A third blast door is set in the armored bulkhead between the crew and passenger compartments. The armored hull itself is raised from the ground and V-shaped to protect the interior from mines and explosions. For vision, the crew have armored vision slits, these are back-up to the sensors that feed the screen and helmet feeds that provide the crew excellent perception outside the APC.
With lighter weaponry than other APCs and IFVs, the Krakkiss compensates with its heavy layers of protection and speed. Using its sensors to avoid detrimental engagements and the LVOS to break line of sight using thermal smoke laced with chaff particulate or dampener aerosal. Should a hostile attempt to clamber onto the roof, stun panels can be activated to disable them. Another version of the Krakkiss eschews half of its passenger capacity to fit a repulsorlift jammer, one of these in a group is a nasty surprise for hover vehicles and low-flying craft.
