OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: Create shield system
  • Canon Link: Deflector shield
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Primary Source: N/A

PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Maji Ironworks
  • Affiliation: Maji Ironworks
  • Market Status: Open-Market
  • Model: M.I. Cyclic Shield Generator
  • Modularity: Highly Modular
  • Production: Mass-Produced
  • Material: Impervium, Duranium, Durasteel, plastoid, various other materials and electrical components.

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Ray and particle shield system to defend against conventional energy and kinetic attacks, as well as navigational hazards.
  • Molecular shielding system to absorb and convert damage into useful energy for the host.
  • Radiation and ion shielding to defend against more unconventional attacks and navigational hazards.
  • Atmospheric shielding system to protect against atmospheric friction and retain artificial atmosphere.
  • Able to be scaled down to small ships, or up to defend large ships.
  • Cyclic and molecular systems allow for quick recovery and sustained power to shields.
  • System overlap capability to allow for multiple shield generators to be used and work together.
  • Automatic shield rotation to compensate for different types of damage.
  • Safety cut-off to protect generators from overloading.

STRENGTHS
  • Universal: The shield system can be scaled up or down for a variety of roles, and protects against most types of active and passive hazards.
  • Cycling: The shield system can switch defense types to adapt to different types of attacks.
  • Absorption: Various systems allow the shields to absorb and use power from hazards.
  • Overlap: The shield system can use multiple generators to reinforce each other.

WEAKNESSES
  • Overload: Particularly in smaller models, enough focused strain on the shields can cause them to overload and shut down.
  • Speed: Smaller objects that move very slowly can pass through the shield with little hindrance.
  • Cooldown: On larger models, the shields take a while to come on and build to their full power.
  • Limited: While weaker passive systems can be kept on for navigation, active protection is limited, with the system at risk of shutting down if more than two shield types are powered up at one time.

DESCRIPTION
Cheap to produce and sturdily made, the Cyclic Shield Generator system is able to protect anything against almost any type of active and passive damage, whether it be a small shield for a tiny fighter, or a massive ship hanging halfway into a planet’s orbit, the shield can tend to it all.

The system works best when paired with extra generators, which allows it to cycle more easily and also spread the burden of strain. Though it certainly isn’t a perfect system.

We have two distinct issues.

One, your weaknesses need to be worked on. Rethink your weaknesses and think more on a PVP standpoint.

  • Able to be scaled down to a personal level, or up to defend large objects or areas.
  • Planetary shield system on larger models for astronomical objects.
No, we are not allowing this on a Mass Produced, Open Market item. Semi-Unique will allow it through but the way it is wrote, a large asteroid could be protected. Not allowed, either remove these two sections or it have to be Semi-Unique.

Would scaling ability be fine to keep in, just with some rewording, or should that also be removed entirely?
