Name: Korathians

Designation: Sentient

Homeworld: Korath.

Language: Galactic Standard Basic, As well as a clicking language native to their Homeworld.

Average height of adults: 2.5 meters

Skin color: Skin is often either a tan or grey color.

Hair color: Korathians have no hair.

Breathes: Type 2

Strengths:
- Capable at running at fast speeds if they lower themselves onto all fours
- Strong limb and jaw muscles allow them to both bite and strike enemies with terrible force
- Venom inside of their saliva can be highly dangerous if gotten into the blood stream or ingested
- Capable of seeing in low light levels

Weaknesses:
- Claws on hands are not adept at dexterous movements. This makes it dificult for them to operate highly delicate machinery, in addition to them having to spend an extensive amount of time becoming accustomed to new technology.
- Require a semi-consistent heat source to maintain their naturally high body heat when off of their homeworld. If a long enough time (Around 15 standard hours) passes without them being in a quite warm environment their reaction time will begin to slow as their nervous system enters a partial hibernation. If more than two standard days go by while in this state the Korathian's organs could fail leading to a quick death.
- Since their body is so dense and most Korathians never seeing a drop of water in their lives, they are unable to swim and will sink and drown in large bodies of water in minutes.
- Sudden light can temporarily blind them if they have become accustomed to the dark, this can last for many minutes while they often go into panic.

Distinctions:
- Hunched posture when standing upright
- Body covered in segmented plates
- Each arm has four fingers each tipped with long razor sharp claws, and each leg has 5 claws including a "dew claw" higher up the leg
- Eyes are dark shades of yellow are red, with large pupil and lacking a Sclera
- Small horns extending from the back of their head, these were used in mating rituals long ago

Average Lifespan: Around 60 years

Races: "Cho' Zha' Co" Those born in the common squalor of Korathian society are usually what is considered the average Korathian. They are usually so strong due to the way of life in Korathian settlements, Those who are weak die, only the strong can pass on genes.
"Cho' Zha' Mo" These Kortathi come from the caste of workers who are often forced into the worst jobs available. They toil underneath the machinery and assembly lines, cleaning garbage and harvesting whatever useful could be found among the waste as well as lifting the heavy loads to be moved about. This race is known for its incredible strength but inbreeding in the Mo Communities has led to many having recessive birth defects, most frequently blindness.
"Cho' Zha' Hlo" The descendants of the most wealthy families on Korath. The successes of their ancestors has led them to be able to live a life of luxury, Hard labor unknown to them. Other than what they see their servants and underlings preform of course. Generations of weak and inept leaders has led them to be an infirm race.

Estimated Population: Roughly 4 billion, The unique needs of Korathians has made it so they struggle to survive outside of their homeplanets. A few have made on desert worlds and one of the key roles in Korathian society is scavengers who collect scrap from space faring vessels. Most simply call them pirates.

Diet: Meat is the primary food source for Korathians and while they would not have all too much problem hunting creatures of similar sizes, they usually prefer smaller creatures. While not strictly poisonous, high amounts of spices can often overload the senses of a Korathian and so they will often stick to simple meals for nutrition.

Communication: Their native language is a series of clicks that are made by hard plates inside of the Korarhian's throats clicking together.Certain more educated Korathians have learned to speak Basic in order to interact with other species. Writing is not a common skill among the Korathian people and neither in turn is literacy but they are capable of using communication systems found in human civilizations after they have 'acquired' them during salvage runs.

Culture: Culture is based on a caste system, with laborers on the bottom and the company chairmen who practically own them. They are fiercely loyal to those that they form bonds with, and it is the worst of sins in Korathi culture to break an oath. Scrap and salvage are the most key item in their day to day lives since Korath itself is so devoid of minerals and all Metals and Alloys used inside of it must be brought in from outside the planet. Those that bring in the most are able to dodge being drafted into the factories as it is deemed they are more valuable outside of the work pits.
Just as scrap is salvaged and re-used, Korathians view life and death in the same way. They have no fanciful beliefs of an afterlife or reincarnation, instead they believe that we all must do our part in whatever we are best at to help the species as a whole. So when a Korathian dies and their body is of no use any more, they are used for whatever they can be. Liquids are removed from the body by dehydration and purified to be drinkable. Bone and scale are used to make durable materials for housing, and all remaining organs are fed to livestock. This procedure may be shocking and disturbing to other more civilized races, but to the Korathians it is the most logical and efficient way to deal with death.

Technology level: Most tech is learned from alien species who either have traded with the Korathians or whose ships have been smelted down and the odd piece of Xeno-tech is somehow preserved. This system has made research on the planet extremely stagnant since while the Korathians are naturally cautious of strangers they are almost entirely dependent on them for new innovations.

General behavior: Most Korathians are generally clan-like in nature, depending on those they know and withholding trust from those they do not. But if you are somehow able to gain the trust of a Korathian, it is a bond they shall keep for life.

History: Korathian history is largely unknown even to its own people, as the only information that is reliable written down are receipts and business contracts. Information
at any one time can only really stretch back 100 years from oral legends and myths that describe why life is so cruel and why work truly makes you free. Alien Archaeologists
have determined that Korathian society is most likely around 130,000 years old, and the current technology was most likely learned from a stranded foreign species that
interacted with the then primitive natives. Regardless of origin, the eternal heat has forced the inhabitants of Korath into Enclaves, underground cities much resembling
the hives of insects.

Due to the isolationist viewpoints of Korath, the Gulag Virus had unique impact on the Korathians when compared to most civilizations. While the only Korathians that actually received the disease were Scavengers outside of Korathi space, the sudden absence of their lifeline to new scrap and materials was suddenly severed. With no runners to bring in scrap or sell processed scrap, Koraths economy was brought to a screeching halt. The Enclaves that could not adapt died, and this time saw the rise and fall of many new groups all across Korath as they struggled to take power in this troubling time. As goes the saying "A crisis is a terrible thing to waste."\

Though it is now unknown to the Korathains, when the Sith empire first arose more than 6,000 years ago many large numbers of Korathians were enslaved due to their strength and somewhat low intelligence being desirable for worker slaves. After the fall of the old Sith empire they were liberated, but without space vessels, the knowledge on how to build them, or even the location of their home on the galactic scale they remained on the planets they had been brought to by their previous masters. The descendants of these slaves have almost no idea of any others of their kind other than the families they were raised in. Due to them growing alongside other sapient races, they are much more open to interaction with strangers and their cultures are almost stark opposite to that of the other Korathians.

Notable Player-Characters: None yet

Intent: To add a new and interesting race for other writers to use or interact with, as well as a new species for my PCs. I wanted to make a race that players would not be able to interact with the way that they would with most species, players would have to adapt to the differences in thought process and experiences that the Korathians have compared to a human for example.

- Claws on hands are not adept at dexterous movements
- Require a semi-consistent heat source to maintain their naturally high body heat when off of their homeworld
- Natural distrust of strangers and innate xenophobia leads them to be reluctant in communication with those that they do not know
Alright so first in your weaknesses typically for every strength there's an equal weakness opposite of it. I'd like for you to elaborate more on the claws not being adept at dexterous movements. I also need some more elaboration on the consistent heat source they need, is their high body heat so much that if they don't have a heat source, it could kill them if it gets too low? If one was fighting someone and they lost their heat source, would they need to find one immediately? A natural distrust while a weakness is a character weakness, it's not going to come into play in a PvP setting, so I need two more weaknesses to counter the last two strengths you have.

Culture is a crucial part of a species as its what gives them character, I'd like to see more detail here, perhaps another paragraph on their culture. It consists of everything from the kinds of clothing they wear, to traditions, there's a lot of material to work with.

A lot has happened on the galactic stage both canonically and in the history of the site, you can use another paragraph here of information.

I feel you need to come up with a better reason of intent for the creation of this species. What about this species diversifies it from the others on the site? What makes this a good addition to the community, and brings to the table something other species cannot?
