STANDARD FEATURES
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Green Space. Designed to put the traditional Dathomirian hunter/gatherer at ease, the cargo bay was re-purposed as a meditation area and living space, designed to closely resemble Dathomirian huts. Rancor leather and Dathomirian spider-silk were used throughout the interior, which included a terrarium and open space for zhaboka or duskblade training.
WEAKNESSES
  • Limited Cargo Space. As the cargo bay was re-purposed into a garden and living space, this ship had significantly reduced cargo capacity in comparison to the standard Starlight-class freighter.
  • Lightly Armed. This ship was intended as a diplomatic courier and transport ship, not as a militarized vessel.
DESCRIPTION
Originally titled the Tynnan's Tooth, this Starlight-class freighter was an ancient relic of Surron StarTech design by the mid 860s ABY. Discovered by Jedi Padawan Jerek Zenduu Jerek Zenduu in 864 ABY, the freighter was towed to Alaris Prime, where it was retrofitted to serve as a transport ship by Jorah zos Darnus, a Nightbrother commissioned to serve as one of the Clan's observers seeded in the galaxy at large. As Mistwalkers were uncomfortable with space travel and modern machines, the cargo bay was redesigned to resemble a traditional Nightbrother abode, to include the use of traditional Dathomiri textiles and materials. The inclusion of a terrarium allowed the ship to serve as host to several plants and other small lifeforms, which were frequently seen as avatars of the spirit realm. The open space and modular nature of the furnishing allowed the cargo area to serve as a meditation room, living space, and training arena. Hand-woven rugs decorated the interior, as well as curtains made of Dathomiri spider-silk.Weapon racks included Nightsister energy bows, zhaboka, and duskblades. There were also several sacred texts aboard the ship, including the Talay Grimoire and an incomplete copy of Wild Power.

As retrofitted, the ship was more akin to a mobile home. Holoprojectors in the cargo bay produced an environmental overlay across the cargo bay overhead that displayed the stars visible from the planet Talay -- Jorah zos Darnus' planet of birth. This area could also function as a hologym for training and recreation. To further enhance the experience of camping among the stars, meals were typically prepared by hand using a fireglass brazier to produce a cooking flame without smoke or the risk of fire. A cooking stone or roasting spit was then used over the fireglass. Water was stored in traditional Dathomiri waterskins; however, in case of an emergency there was a small autochef with adequate provisions for roughly three weeks time in space. A small bread oven, also heated by fireglass, was located in the galley.

As very few of the Mistwalker Clan were familiar with the navigating or piloting of a starship, the freighter was crewed by a DUM-series pit droid, which served as its engineer and pilot.

Upon receipt of the retrofitted light freighter, the ship was re-named as Koratas -- the fourth moon of the planet Dathomir.
