Private Knowledge is power

She held up her hands, letting Onrai take the lead on where to go. She watched every piece of flesh and liquid. It most definitely generated ideas for her, on what could be created to mimic this broken laws of space. What could be done to truly see this? How far could this technique, if it was a technique, be taken? Was the creature even the size it really appeared, or had it folded in on itself?

Then they reached the strange 'brain' of the beast. Shavara looked to it she checked her hood, down. And instinctively reached out her mind. Cautiously. Ready to cover up in a moment. Ready to back down if she felt a thought or presence that was a danger to her. But she still went for it. Even if there was nothing to sense, that was a piece of knowledge itself.

She wanted so much to study it, to take it apart and put it back together like she could do with everything else. Her eyes weren't good enough. A second set emerged from her head on stalks to see into greater spectrums, holes on her cheeks to sense the weaker electrical signals. And of course, seeking through the force. <You have knowledge for me.> she whispered in her own language, not really intending it for anyone. It was like when she was brought to the memory of Sar Vun. Except this time, she would be studying it completely anew. Sar Vun was a teacher. This was a subject.

The brain did not respond to her initial touch, which was hardly surprising given the fact it was dead, but as she sought to pry into it, she would soon be assailed with a myriad of memories. The stories of constant species, each created from the basest forms of life and rapidly evolved to societal progress - only to ultimately have been devoured by the creature that stood before them. Untold rituals, scientific creations now left as ruins, and entire civilizations from beginning to their horrific, morbid end. The one before them had devoured so much in the way of knowledge that to a mind like Shavara's it was overwhelming beyond compare.

"Careful." Onrai said. "Don't overindulge for sure."

Her mouth smiled slightly as her eyes glittered with fascination as mass amounts of information came to life for her mind. She'd communicated this way for other Vo Ni certainly, but they were never so full of information that they could give willingly. There was more to see here. More to learn. A wander about all the turns and scientific changes made along the path.

And so too did the warning, not a feeling of raw power or chaos that one must temper like she expected from the Vo of Vran'ti. But a knowledge so expansive that she had no room for it all at once. The river overflowing and hurting the lands it flowed through. She withdrew her hand instinctively covering her hood and shutting her eyes as she breathed in sharply running her finger across the kestralis ring. She almost immediately reached out again, in spite of that she was barely processing what was still coursing through her mind. So much could be gained right now. So much progress and understanding.

But she heard the warning. And she stopped. There was too much risk there. It felt like a tear in her mind. Healable, but still hurt. And something that could get so much worse if she wasn't careful. She didn't want to speak, just hold onto all that knowledge. And think on it. Eventually she did anyway. She could stop herself from pressing forth physically but it was hard to not ask questions. "Do you already know all of it?" she asked, curious. Her voice was slightly shaky from what felt like a mental impact stronger than any she'd dealt with before. But only everything could sate curiosity.
