OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

 • Intent: To flesh out a species introduced in a thread for further use

 • Canon: N/A

 • Links: UCM Dominion of Kiros
GENERAL INFORMATION

 • Name: Kirosian Vines

 • Origins: Kiros

 • Other Locations: N/A

 • Classification: Carnivorous Vine

 • Average Growth Cycle: When grown with the waters on Kiros, the Kirosian Vine can grow rapidly. The rapid growth of the vine makes it incredibly invasive to the local environment. The full life-span of the vines are still being researched by the best biologists in the UCM, but is theorized to be up to 50 years with the levels of vitality the plant cells show.

 • Viability: It is currently unknown how well the Kirosian Vine will grow when not provided with the pure water found on Kiros, however, many do not wish to move it from its natural habitat for fear of destroying other ecosystems. From what researchers have been able to discover, the minerals in both the Kirosian water and soil make prime conditions for the plant to grow.

 • Description: The Kirosian Vine is a fast-growing, green-leaved, carnivorous plant, with ivy-like stickers that can grow in size the older the plant becomes. If given enough time, large pods in the shape of purple flowers will grow, capable of swallowing up their prey.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION

 • Average Height: .3m

 • Average Length: Varies

 • Color: Green, with purple flowers

 • Nutritional Value: There is no particular nutritional quality, though it does have a slightly salty taste to it.

 • Toxicity: Kirosian vines are poisonous. Eating them in small amounts will result in nausea, vomiting, fever, and in larger amounts, hallucinations, and even death.

 • Other Effects: The flowers on a Kirosian Vine give off a honey-sweet scent, which lures in any prey.

 • Distinctions: Cross-bred between multiple vine species, Kirosian Vines have ivy-like curling stickers. The vines also have small barbs, to latch onto clothing, fur, and skin and further entrap their prey. Though there are many purple blooms along the plant, larger, thicker flowers can be found. These large flowers are, in fact, dormant pods which lie in wait for some poor creature to fall into its center.
Strengths:

 • Fast Growing: The Kirosian Vine grows incredibly quickly, to the point that it could possibly even outgrow being burned or electrocuted.

 • Carnivorous: The large, flower-like pods that grow give off a honey-sweet scent to lure small to medium sized animals for it to eat. These pods will immediately snap closed around whatever creature either steps or falls into it.

 • Defensive: When stepped in, the vines will automatically begin to ensnare whatever poor unfortunate soul that crossed into it. Smaller prey will be completely wrapped, and be slowly pulled towards a nearby pod to be devoured. Larger creatures will be able to pull free, with enough force.
Weaknesses:

 • Fire: As a plant, even despite the high water content within it’s vines, Kirosian Vines are highly susceptible to flame

 • Lighting: The vines themselves recoil at electricity, and electrocuting the roots will kill the plant completely

 • Blades: The vines themselves are not very thick, and can be cut with relative ease

 • Slow Eater: Though the pods themselves are thick and sturdy, they are very slow to devour their prey. This allows an outside force to either beat or electrocute the pod into opening back up to release whatever creature is inside.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Originally planted by a Togruta by the name of Felicity to keep Mandalorians away from a smuggler’s stash, the Kirosian Vine evolved from a mix of Vendaxan creeper vines due to the artesian waters of Kiros. They grew out of control, and the local government called the nearby Clans of Mandalore for aide. Mand’alor the Infernal herself arrived with an entourage of Mandalorians equipped with pyromancy, electomancy, flamethrowers, and stun batons to beat back the infestation. Once the Mandalorians succeeded, the Infernal brought samples back for research, and the top scientists in plant biology were called in. These researchers discovered that the vines had been cross bred, and turned into an entirely new species. Using water and soil from Kiros brought into their labs for testing, the researchers were able to make the plant even more deadly, and decided to reintroduce it to Kiros for wild animal population control. The added benefit of defense from invaders was just a bonus to them, with the recent invasions of Mandalorian civilian planets.

Villages and towns that could have even marginally possibly been at risk, had electrified shields and fences built to surround them, to ward off any vine or even animal that strays too close. Flame turrets would also be used at the entrance gates of these shields to burn plants. Pathways through fields the vines were introduced to were made using very high, electrified, flame thrower equipped, fences to allow safe travel through them.

Another good submission. The name reminds me of the "Kisenian Blossom" from a certain Fandom that will not go named here - But, one of my favorite genres. Nice work!
