The planet is mostly made up of steppes, forests, and mountains. There is a large smattering of desserts here and there, and some tropical locales. Closer to the poles, there are tundra environments that lead all the way up to large ice caps.

Native Species: N/A

Immigrated Species: 71% Human, 18% Near-Human, 11% Non-Human

Primary Languages: Galactic Standard Basic

Government:

Kiribi is ruled by a system-wide governing body known as the Kiribian Systems Union. It is an Electronic Democracy, a form of democracy that sits between direct democracy and representative democracy, taking advantage of technology to allow citizens to participate directly in government affairs and policy making to a point.

The central government employs a parliamentary system, where an executive president is elected by the parliament operating under a multi-party setup. The parliament is a bicameral system comprised of an elected Senate, and a “digital” Congress that directly represents the entire population of Kiribi. The Senate operates much like a traditional legislature, but the Congress is totally controlled by a system of direct democracy, every citizen of Kiribi system. Any bill passed by the Senate must also be approved by popular vote in the Congress. Any individual in Congress can submit a bill or referendum, but it must pass a certain threshold of support to be reviewed by the Senate.

Military:

Kiribi has held up a tradition of maintaining a strong military dating back to the Dark Ages (Gulag Plague). Their military is geared toward defended the system, but it does have some force projection capabilities. From time to time, Kirbi it participates in military expeditions, usually in concert with the Republic military.

Population: 8.7 billion

Demonym: Kiribian

Major Imports:

The system is largely self-sufficient when it comes to raw resources, so the only things that are imported in large quantities are manufactured goods and luxury items as part of trade.

Major Exports:

Kiribi has a highly developed, diversified economy that exports a wide variety of manufactured goods and services. It is best known for its impeccable biotech sector. It is also one of the leading producers of refined tibanna gas, antimatter, and anti-gravity knots for repulsor apparatuses. One of the galaxy's largest HSP’s (Holonet Service Provider) is based on Kiribi. The planet’s eco-friendly policies have resulted in beautiful cities and settlements that have made it a prime destination for tourists and retirees from polluted Core Worlds.

Affiliation: Galactic Republic

Major Locations:

Izrul: The capital of Kiribi. It is a massive multi-level city that sprawls about 15% of the planet’s largest continent. The administrative center of the Kiribian government is based near the old coastal core of Izrul.

Solar Array/Knot Plants: A network of large solar collection plants set in close orbit around the sun, forming the prototype of a Dyson sphere. They provide most of the power to the system each plant also doubles as a production facility for anti-gravity knots and antimatter. Energy from the Solar Array is distributed throughout the system by a network of relays positioned at various lagrange points, and within the orbit of large celestial bodies.

Vroln: One of two Kiribian moons, the larger of the pair at about 21% of Kiribian’s size. It does not possess an atmosphere to support life, but there are several biomes located on the surface and underground. It was once host to several mining operations, but then the mining of the moons became outlawed for ecological reasons.

Qance: The smaller of the Kiribian moons, at only 6% of Kiribi’s size. As with Vroln, it has no atmosphere to support life, but there are a few biomes there.

Togas: A small rocky planet that has the closest to orbit to the sun. Rich in several natural resources, but its harsh atmosphere has always made mining difficult. It was altogether abandoned after new restrictions were placed on planetary mining operations.

Ovry: The third planet from the sun beyond the inner Kirbian asteroid belt. It is a huge gas giant that has served as a boundless supply of high grade tibanna for generations. Its orbit is host to hundreds of space stations design to collect and refine tibanna gas.

Vraco: the fourth and last planet from the sun. It is a gas giant like Ovry, but only about a third of its size. Like Ovry, it is harvested for its rich supply of tibanna, but extraction is known to be significantly more difficult because of the more turbulent atmosphere of the planet.

Culture: The diverse makeup of the various peoples of Kiribi has led to a liberal cosmopolitan society. However, the planet is dotted with small enclaves of mostly homogeneous settlements made to preserve their cultures.

Technology: As a wealthy core planet, it possesses an advanced level of technology. It is one of the galaxy’s leaders in biotechnology, which includes the production of cyborgs and biots.

History:

Colonial/Old Republic Era

Kiribi began as a Coruscanti colony, the garden planet seen as an attractive destination for settlements. The system as a whole was ripe in natural resources like rare earth metals and tibanna gas. Like many worlds of the Colony region, it became wealthy by using its generous supplies of natural resources to fuel a booming manufacturing sector. Over time, the economy would mature and diversify as Kiribi focused on advanced components, and droid production. The biggest boon to the economy would be an investment in antigravity plants for the every growing need for repulsor tech. It would shy away from local mining operations (excluding tibanna gas extraction) as asteroid mining operations became more efficient and the society became more eco-conscious. There was also a large expanse into service industries like finance and communications.

As the colony’s wealth grew, it would eventually lead to an independence movement by locals wishing to keep all the wealth in the system instead of going to Coruscant. So over the centuries, Kiribi would gradually gain ever greater autonomy until it was completely independent. However, it would remain within the Galactic Republic, becoming a stalwart supporter of almost all its iterations. During the brief reign of the old Galatic Empire, several powerful factions within Kiribi would help finance the Rebel Alliance. The government would turn a blind eye to their activities, but it never openly supported their actions. To do so would have led to severe reprisals.

Gulag Plague/Dark Ages

Kiribi was devastated by the Gulag Plague, suffering billions of deaths within the first few years of the outbreak. The pandemic would then become a catalyst for a biotech revolution on Kiribi. Cut off from its usual supplies of bacta and kolta (which had proven to be completely ineffective against the plague anyway), Kiribians were forced into revisiting conventional medicine and bio-engineering for a solution. They would go as far as to incorporate the biotechnologies of the Yuuzhan Vong, and even alchemy into their developments. After decades and centuries worth of consultations and reverse engineering, they were able to master these technologies and develop their own unique derivative of biotechnology.

The situation would stabilize as gene therapies were developed to grant the populous an immunity to the virus. It was readily shared with all those who would accept. That was the point where Kiribi would begin to be recognized as a leader in biotechnology.

As the Galactic Alliance had fallen, the Kiribians were left to fend for themselves. During this time, much of their resources were devoted toward their military. Alliances would be formed with close neighbors like the Echani. While having built up its forces to contend with any external threats, conditions were relatively peaceful within the Kiribi system. It benefitted greatly from its position within the Core. So then its military would often be deployed offensively to repel raids and full-scale invasions by barbarians from the Outer Rim.

In later centuries, Kiribi would begin leveraging its power to help establish an even bigger alliance, setting the foundations for the establishment of a new Galactic Republic.

Recovery

Kirbi would emerge from the Dark Ages as an economic powerhouse, driven by its centuries of intense development in the field of biotechnology. It would resume being a leading producer of high-tech goods for the galaxy. In the era where there was now a standing Republican Army, the Kiribians would finally begin to downsize their forces to funnel resources into domestic development.

After centuries of self-rule, the people of Kiribi had development more of an independent streak. While still strong supporters of the basic idea of a Galactic Republic, the Kiribians had wisely learned not to become completely dependent on its existence. It had learned how fragile such an organization truly was.

Netherworld Crisis

Kiribi found itself affected by the sudden rapture of millions of its people, but the scale of destruction it experienced was nothing near what it had faced during the height of the Gulag Plague. There was a brief recession, but the system quickly rebounded. The situation was exploited by Kiribians to gain some economic footholds in places previously denied to them.

Republic in Decline

As the Republic continued to experience a constant string of setbacks against the war with the One Sith, Kiribians began to notice a disturbing trend in the central government as it flirted with despotism. The Republic was even beginning to fail at preventing internal conflicts within its own borders. Some conflicts even instigated by Republican agents themselves. These events have prompted Kiribi to expand its military while considering an exit from the failing alliance.

Notable PCs:

Intent: Fleshing out the Kiribi system, as I plan to reference it a lot in upcoming roleplays.

This is a lot of people. You have a planet here similar to Earth in it's climate and terrain. We've settled just about everywhere that can possibly be settled, and we only have about 7 billion people. I would like to see this number decreased to around that range, though I will not go higher than 10 billion.

These don't really need to be here. This is for locations on the planet, and even moons or other nearby bodies. If you wish to sub them in the future, you may, though it is not required; but these simply don't need to be here.

The Galactic Empire was a pretty big deal. I would like to see at least a couple more sentences expanding on this.

How did they get access to Vong tech? And do they still have access to it? Same question with alchemy.

Take care of these concerns and we can move forward.

Nice, thank you for reviewing this.

On Earth, we could settle the world's current population into an area the size of Texas with the density of New York City. On Kiribi, the majority of the population live in massive vertical complexes. As an advanced space faring civilization, Kiribians are much more efficient with resources, taking advantage of large scale hydroponic operations and bio-engineering to increase productivity. It can harness the resources of the entire system, and is part of a galactic scale economy. I don't think it's fair to compare Kiribi to Earth. The numbers fall in line with some other core worlds like Anaxes or Rendili.

With that said, I have reduced the number to keep in line with my vision of the population as a more ecological conscious society. 8.7 billion.

I don't plan on making full submissions for the other planets, which is why I made a small note for each one for future reference.

Done.

They acquired a handle on the technologies by consultation, and reverse engineering. These developments occurred over the course of several decades and centuries. They still have access to those technologies, but they now work with their own unique derivative.

I think you meant to put Empire, here.

I would like this added in to the Technology field.

Take care of that, and you're good to go.
