Killteam (Dominion, Chiloon and Irn, Round 2)

5

His shots rang out, one, two, three. When that happened three droids dropped, he continued to shoot taking more and more down with each shot of his blaster rifle. But the more they shot the more they came and it seemed to be an endless wave of droids coming for them, and he knew if they didn't find a way out of there soon they would be in trouble when they ran out of ammo for their blaster rifles.

Lucien shared the thought with him and called over the comms for the team to get into the elevator. Immediately he stood up and began to lay down more fire waiting for the rest of the group to get in before slowly back pedaling his way into the elevator and kneeling don in the front room shooting out the doors as Lucien hit the button and they slowly began to close, he kept shooting until the blaster shot would be too wide to fit through the doors taking droids out until it was.

As the elevator finally started to go down and they sat in silence he sighed softly into his helmet and began to check his ammo count, he was still running pretty good, but if they had to go through anymore of that they would have a problem that he didn't want to deal with. He began to quickly field-strip his gun and clean the pieces in the elevator fast before putting the pieces back together and waiting for the doors to open, as he crouched in the front aiming his rifle at the door, his finger itching to shoot.

Though Adron was mute on whether he accepted Darius' explanation of where The Dominion's leader had gone there seemed to be no more questions on the subject. Though the man's answer was still rather cryptic and held no great bit of reasoning Adron had the slightest feeling, as if he could be trusted.

"You're aggravating as all hell, I just want you to know that." He enthused, following behind the man as he led him down the stairwell before them.

As his ebony boots came into contact with the ground underneath his his mind returned to the realization that he had not yet received any communications from his men or Anya. Taking his comm device from his waist he activated the transceiver, only to hear a large amount of static erupt from the device. "Figures." He grumbled, the device's malfunctioning no surprise to the young Count.

"Look, if the Archlord is still alive I have to tell The Dominion. He has to come back, we need a leader." The Count pointed out.

"I'd be pretty boring if I just went along with everyone's suggestions without putting up a bit of a fight." Darius pointed out as they wound down the stairs. The duo descended numerous levels below the library, passing through chambers blocked by massive durasteel doors along the way. These the vaults of the Black Library - a home to all the morose artifacts the Jedi Shadows had plundered in the ages of the past. The Master of Shadows paid these chambers little mind, having perused through each one of them during his extensive training.

"It's complicated Adron," he finally relented, turning bodily toward the count as they came to a halt outside a particularly large door. The door itself was gilded with gold and decorated with what one could only assume to be runes of some kind. "He's dead and he isn't, and I'm not talking about Cedric."

A glove was removed. The pale hand pressed against an identi-scanner. The door began to rumble. "The Archlord has transcended the realm of the material and the immaterial. Think of him as a benevolent guardian now. As for his son? Even I don't know that."

Hot air spilled from the room beyond as the door began to open. With it came a light so bright that it should have been blinding, yet it held the softness of the purest moonlight. The chamber beyond was rather dull, save for the single pedestal in the center of the room. Upon that pedestal lay a tome bathed in pale luminescence that seemed to demand reverence.

"Have you ever seen a nexus of the force before?" Darius asked, his voice quieting to a gentle whisper.

The Archlord has transcended this realm? How is something like that possible without becoming one with the force? Adron mused, his thoughts pulling him from the task at hand.

He watched Darius access the door's security scanner. A low buzz came from the device as a low rumbling erupted from the door. He exhaled, losing patience for the man before him and whatever goal he was trying to accomplish. "Yes." The Count replied, turning his mind back to the Force Nexus he was exposed to as a young boy.

"Dark and Light." He added. "This place....what is it? It feels like a lot more than a library."

Miles filed in behind his teammates along with Darson, covering the rear as the new squad of response droids ran into bolts like they were deer in headlights. Miles gave as good as the droids could give. He took a bolt in the hip, his armor took the brunt, but he could feel the skin burning under the plate.

The elevator was a brief reprieve from the combat, gave him a chance to breathe, it had been some time since he'd been in real combat and the rust seemed apparent. He'd need to be far more careful, focused, efficient. It wasn't going to get to him, but this mission wasn't another walk in the park. A five man team may be deadly, but a hundred droids wasn't just about plugging bolts into them. They'd need to keep them off their tail unit lthe charges could be set.

"Commander, we'll need a distraction. Let me off at the next floor and I'll draw the droids away so you can get to the core."

He could sense Adron's frustration. It brought an amused little grin to his lips.

"The Black Library was a place of Sith Alchemy and arcane monstrosities millenia ago. A Sith Lord called this place his home, and it was here that he crafted armies of Sith spawn. Eventually, the Jedi Order found out about it and sent the Shadows. The battle was devastating for both sides, though the Jedi came out as the victors. in the century that followed, the Shadows purified the Sith Lord's hovel and turned it into a place all their own. The nexus was born from the remnants of his power." He strode forward, though he stopped before reaching the tome. "It's almost sentient now. A living embodiment of the force; it is the very definition of the Ashla."

Darius gestured for Adron to join him. "You and I are going to be working together quite a bit in the future count. Might be wise to drop the suspicion." A hand fell toward the lightsaber staff at his belt. The voidwalker's eyes drifted shut, the weapon rising from his hand to float above the tome.

"The Sith utilize alchemy to empower their weapons. Jedi of the past have done similar things, though rather than warping reality, we give it the force's blessing. Do as I do."

"The Sith have a habit of delivering their destruction directly to the hands of their enemies." Adron stated in a nonchalant tone.

The Count reached out towards a nearby wall, closing his eyes as he gathered himself in the realm of the Force. As moments passed by it became less and less difficult to see the infinite power surrounding them, until finally the library surrounding him seemed to almost speak out to the Count. Opening his eyes a small smile crept over his face, impressed by the sheer presence the structure gave off.

"Amazing." He all but whispered.

He brought his arms back underneath the silken cloak that flowed from his shoulders. "The Shadows, hmm?" He questioned.

"So I assume that this is an attempt of recruitment?" Adron asked before taking a place beside the man. "Very well, show me what you will. But I'm still not convinced."

"History does tend to repeat itself." Darius mused, a hint of a laugh to his words.

The lightsaber came apart before them. Screws twisted an unbound, latches opened, the focusing crystal popped as it came free. The saberstaff, truly two weapons merged into once, hovered above them in pieces. Darius reached out with his ungloved hand, pale fingers trailing over the detritus that formed his prized weapon.

"Not recruitment. I don't mind sharing my knowledge with you, but you aren't ready to stand with the shadows. I'm not sure you would even want to," he continued, a meaning greater than the words spoken lingering in his voice. The shadows were a secretive and elite organization. Not just anyone could join their ranks, even if they desperately needed the numbers. Not even a count.

"In the future, if you choose that path for yourself, then perhaps." The Voidwalker added. Best to not cut Adron out completely.

"Bring out your weapon and dismantle it. We'll the imbue them together, with crystals of a different make." Two such crystals slid out from one of the drawers within the pedestal. "There are a handful of these crystals within the library. They bond with you in a way unlike any other. They can only be used by you, and their nature reflects that of your relationship with the force. They serve as focusing crystals."

Darius took one in a hand. The crystal was warm to the touch. "One for myself, and one for you."

After personally overseeing the construction of Fort Kushiban, Jessica was dispatched to Irn in an attempt to quell civil unrest. Fort Kushiban was built in record time thanks to the purchase of a surplus Imperial prefabricated modular garrison, delivered to Kushiban without any weapons on it, and also with the first few dozen Kushibah turrets ever built being delivered and installed there. The whole package was billed to the 2nd Sector Army (that was previously hers to command prior to Dromund Kaas), and they agreed to it on the condition that the majority of the planetary defense force be housed there, and they are confident that Fort Kushiban could hold out long enough until reinforcements can arrive. But on the early stages of the Immobilizer 419's first operational voyage, there was only one person she trusted to pilot it, especially when there still were things to work out regarding its Otherdrive, as they are two or three parsecs away from Irn: Julie.

"We never got a chance to know whether the Otherdrive will work or not unless we actually use it. Luckily we have a spare hyperdrive or two in the cargo hold. Same goes for the Otherpilot"

"Otherpilot set to Otherspace mode, ready to jump to Otherspace to Irn" Julie acknowledged, while the ship's surroundings became silver-grey with black dots.

"General, according to the latest reports from the field, the city hall's communications array still hasn't been repaired since the main Primeval army attacked" the intelligence officer told Jessica.

"The Primeval didn't repair it when they took the planet after I was forced to evacuate the place?" she asked, in a feigned expression of surprise, knowing that the Primeval was simply out to and not to do any repairs. "Very well, we shall repair the communications array atop the city hall"

To hear the man's statement on the Jedi Shadows was a relief to Adron. The Count often had a problem with refusing invitations to duties he felt were necessary for him to participate in. So to hear there would be no added load to his days was a mental exhale.

"Even when I am ready to join I don't foresee it becoming an option. My time is spoken for, my duties are to my planet. Curiosity is the only thing leading me here now." He stated.

Bringing his weapon from it's place on his waist he laid it on the table before him. The young Jedi exhaled as he raised a gloved hand over the weapon. Slowly it began to rise from the table, soft clicks erupting from the weapon as it was systematically dismantled by Adron through the Force. The pieces to the lightsaber continued to part until ten separate pieces floated before him. Allowing the pieces to maintain their levitation he used his free hand to guide his lightsaber crystal to his welcoming hand.

He glanced down at the small white crystal that laid in his hand. A nasty crack was forming in the center of the crystal, the mark that the synthesizer used to create this particular crystal was faulty and had made a defective product. "Shame." He muttered, allowing the crystal to fall to the tabletop.

Taking the new crystal into his hand he took a moment to listen to the waves of whispers the Force seemed to propel towards him. "Interesting. Very well, let's get started."

Secondary Objective- wonder where the feth [member="Adron Malvern"] is!!

The crowd was starting to get rowdy again, anya had few choices left. Adron wasn't responding and communication to the fleet was nothing. Looking to the main building she got a idea as she called out

get me three people with the best darn know how to fix stuff!

She said and went to the middle of the crowd jumping onto a crate as she let a whistle out and looked around, she was a bit unsure now as she was the center off attention but she spoke

listen I understand everyone is a bit upset, but please hold on a bit longer, we are heading to fix the communication array, after that we'll get supplies...food, water, everything necessary! I ask you to place your trust in me....i want no one harmed so please...just relax...and I'll help

The crowd murmured a bit, then a older looking man stepped forward as he spoke

we've been without anything for weeks and then you people show up and arrest the leadership....however...we will give you a your or two..

Anya nodded and let a breath out jumping down and looked to the three men that got assembled as she motioned for them to follow back to the capitol building

ok, we are gonna get up there repair it and hopefully get communication back to here and to the fleet

They gave a resounding yes ma'am and they started the climb up

When the Immobilizer 419 made it to Irn's orbit after a jump to Otherspace, where the Immobilizer 419 got its hyperdrive repaired while in flight, the sensor technician realizes that the rest of the fleet has already reverted to realspace a while ago. Which means that the escorts might already be crossing the asteroid field, at their own risks. Meanwhile, the AT-AT barges were prepared to load food, medications and other critical supplies. Also, the chief engineer reports no issues beyond what's reported as normal with the Otherdrive's operation. Even though, normally, AT-AT barges and Neimoidian Yachts were used as landing craft onboard the Immobilizer 419, here they have to be used to load up supplies for the residents of the capital, Irnfall, so that an attempt at quelling the unrest would begin. The Primeval is known not to provide any aid to populations of conquered planets, but their occupation couldn't last: they had no real military left at this stage.

"We have arrived in orbit over Irn, general" Julie reported back to Jessica.

"Communications are down but one can imagine they will need supplies while the rest of the infrastructure gets rebuilt" the sensor technician told Jessica.

"We want one squadron escorting the AT-AT barge and the Neimoidian Yacht as they make their descent towards the capital's spaceport with supplies. Oh and I will personally descend with spare parts to repair the communications array by the city hall in a Neimoidian Yacht. Prepare the Neimoidian Yacht for planetary descent: I will pilot it myself"

What's standard for a civilian communications array capable of covering an entire city and able to act as a HoloNet transceiver for the city could handily fit in a Neimoidian Yacht, alongside a squad of combat engineers: that job doesn't seem to be too intense. Of course, she departed after the AT-AT barge but she will arrive in Irnfall roughly at the same time as the barge by virtue of the yacht being faster than the barge. With that said, Jessica makes for the city hall's roof with all speed until she is in low atmosphere.

At the very least, Adron was curious. That was better than most.

"Imbuement is a difficult and long process. We'll be here for some time," Darius informed. "Reach out into the ethereal realm. Transcend beyond this reality and make that of the other your home. You'll see the crystal as miniature nexus within the force. It will search your heart, and whatever you are made of will show itself in the blade."

All very cryptic, but then that was what the Voidwalker had been taught himself. He had practiced this technique numerous times on his own, but never upon his own blade. The weapon was intrinsically tied to him in a way unlike that of normal weapon.

His feet drifted out from under him as the force took hold. The revitalizing energies of the universe used him as a verging point, passing both through him and through Adron. Darius reached out, his presence meant to be like an encouraging hand on Adron's shoulder.

"The crystal is bound to your heart. The blade to your soul. It will never respond to another person save for your progeny. It will be a beacon of what you stand for: a testament to compassion, law, order, fairness, and responsibility."

A soft white light began to envelop Darius' weapon. "No longer will your lightsaber be a weapon, but rather a part of you. Do you feel it?"

Focusing on the crystal before him, Adron watched as the small stone began to slowly spin in isolation, away from the rest of Adron's lightsaber parts. Closing his eyes the Count reached into the nether of the Force, using it as his guide to imbuing his crystal.

"I am one with the Force." He muttered, allowing the mantra to slide him into a deep trance.

Through the eyes of the Force Adron was able to see the crystal that floated before him, yet it was so different from the simple stone his eyes had peered on only seconds ago. Now the stone had it's own pulsation in the Force, much like a heart beat. His hair slowly began to levitate, the Force drawing a rift around him that gave the Count the abilities needed for this exercise.

Opening his eyes he watched as the lightsaber pieces slowly drifted towards each other, assembling around the crystal. The metal became as bright as a light while the crystal itself continued to shine, even though the durasteel exterior. "Yes, I do." He replied simply to the man, still focusing on the task at hand.

"And the force is one with you."

The crystals bound with the hilts like the heart to a body. They could never be removed, save for by those that had wrought them together as one. Intertwined as they were, the components formed a tool of greater purpose. Twin lightsabers, one of a single hilt, the second of two, lowered down from the pedestal. Each radiated with the energy of the nexus, and thrummed with the markings of their creators. No longer mere weapons, the lightsabers would serve as true tools of the force, forever bound to dutifully serve their masters.

The fates of the crystals reflected the fates of their users.

"The blade is bound to you now. It will never break, nor will it ever heed the call of another hand unless you wish it. It is as much a part of you as any part of your body now. I'd advice you don't lose it," Darius instructed as each weapon lowered toward its respective wielder.

The lightsaber staff hissed as its twin blades came to life. Both were as the lime green of a tropical sea, though a burst of silver at their core could be seen if one looked closely enough.

"There are dueling chambers up above. Follow me."

Taking the newly forged weapon into his hand Adron looked over the hilt, an iota of pride beaming from him as he felt his connection to the new blade. "This could prove useful." He remarked, running his thumb over the activation pad.

A soft hiss erupted from the weapon as the blade sprung from the hilt. What once had served as a brilliant white blade was now replaced with a dark purple hue that caught Adron's eye immediately. A closer examination sold the eye to a silver streak, thin and pure running down the center of the blade.. "Remarkable." He commented before deactivating the blade. Latching the weapon back on his waist he paused when he felt a soft heartbeat, however it was not coming from his own chest, or even the blade on his waist.

Focusing on his surroundings he was able to trace the sensation back to the blade hanging from Darius' own belt.

Our blades are connected. He mused, pulling his arms back into the confines of his cloak.

"I don't make a habit of losing my weapons." Was his only response as he followed the man to the dueling chambers.

Irn. A planet of rolling plains and beautiful grass land, sullied by the barbarics of the Primeval horde. The last of their bastions stood off in the distance and Enzo eyed it precariously. The battlefield would be an open field of wheat upon rolling hills. At the far end of the hills stood a small village. The Primeval had taken the town hostage, which stopped the Dominion from simply bombing them to dust. So, instead the Dominion had sent three of its best. Enzo stood atop a hill next to his two companions. [member="Cairyn Midore"] and [member="Xiarr Sair"]. He observed the battle lines of the enemy as they erected defenses and prepared for death. Enzo merely smirked, none of it would be enough to stop him or his friends. "Are you ready?" He asked the duo too his left and right, a wry grin splayed across his face.

Now that Jessica's yacht made it to low atmosphere, she piloted it carefully to where the city hall is, slowing down throughout the somewhat irradiated city as a result of the main Primeval army having obliterated many city blocks around the power plant in an attempt to disable it, even though the residents made an attempt to repair it. And the repair crews stood ready to get the communications array repaired, as much as one [member="Anya Loma"] wanted it. Yet Anya only had 3 handymen on station: it was a start but it was way too slow. The engineering team got to work to get the remaining components repaired, taking on the repair tasks that Anya's engineering team did not, presumably because they were too high above the hall. By now Jessica left the relief pilot on overwatch to keep the yacht in stationary flight, using repulsorlift, while Jessica also rode the broomstick for airborne repairs, as she knew more or less where each component should go for the communications array being unloaded to be fully operational, using pyrokinesis to solder wires along the way, and the other engineers rebuilt the mast around the communications array. Almost finished, communications should be back momentarily, she thought, while communicating those thoughts in hopes that Anya would receive the telepathic message.

Laying in the grass next to his companions, his legs swung back and forth as he kept himself propped on his elbows, watching the battlefield without a care in the world. Whoever thought sending him was a good idea must've been pretty foolish. He had no interest in helping the Dominion, only whatever served to benefit him. At the moment, this little mission served as a delightful distraction. "Ready? I was ready before any of you were!" He drawled, pulling himself to his feet, stretching.

Irn was your typical Outer Rim world, sparsely populated, rolling hills, and boring vegetation. The grassland was an almost perfect battlefield, at least for lightsaber combat. The scarcity of cover made typical modern combat suicide, and this suited Xiarr just fine. He hadn't fought the Primeval for quite some time, although his first experience with the vile group was fairly brief. This time they had decided to take an entire village hostage, which prevented them from going in guns blazing.

Xiarr observed the village, which was of a standard size, especially for a village in a world such as Irn. He had been assigned to work with two other darksiders, which made him uneasy, to say the least. He had worked with one of them before however, so that gave him some reassurance. "Are we doing this loudly or quietly? I could work with either."
