The son of two Dar'manda, Kes was born on the second moon of Concord Dawn. His parents had been exiled from their clan and since this they had forever been attempting to be welcomed back into the fold with little avail. As part of this effort he was trained in a very traditional Mandalorian way from an early age. Seeing his parents so desperately try to reintegrate themselves into Mandalorian society but be rejected each time created a bitterness in Kes, he grew to despise the clans and authorities and when he reached the age of 18 instead of attempting to join a clan Kes instead set out to Hutt Space, using what he had been learned to serve as a hired gun and thug for the various crime syndicates.
He would've stayed there, drowning in vice and living in the underworld had he not been given news of his parent's deaths. He promptly returned to Mandalorian space and to the small farm he grew up on to learn his parents died in a viral outbreak, yet still they had been clutching on the hope they would one day be welcomed back into the fold. In his grief and in honour of them, Kes decided to adorn the armour of his father and swore that he would honour his heritage in his own way.
As part of this, he ventured to Mandalore and it was there he would come under the employ of a Mandalorian named Kaine. While the younger Morellian had reservations about rushing back into Mandalorian culture so soon the incentive of high pay kept him there and he continued serving eventually as part of the Mandalorian Union and the Enclave. He would serve up until the death of his employer at the hands of the Sith and watched as the Union collapsed, reminding him of the infighting and hypocrisy that plagued Mandalorian history and soon abandoned the Mandalorian system, returning back to the Underworld, jaded and with growing distaste to most Mandalorians.

Mandalorian Upbringing While Kes deviated from the Mandalorian path for a good few years he was still brought up as a mandalorian and was trained to the best of his parents abilities. While not as good as a veteren Mandalorian he is still able to put up a good fight. 
Weapons Expert Like any other arms dealer and gunrunner Kes knows more than a thing or two about weapons. You name it, and he can probably fire it and fire it effectively. 
Long Lived Of Morellian heritage, Kes shares many attributes of the near-humans, including an extended lifespan. At the age of 51, he is still considered quite young by Morellian standards. 
Addict Kes spending much of his early career in the underworld has left him with a substantial substance addiction. From spice to alcohol, Kes has even taken spice while 'working'. The stuff is volatile and Kes more often than not puts his fate up to chance in these cases. 
Bitter Kes is an elitist and it makes him prickly to work with, from seeing himself as better than other underworld thugs to even contempt to other Mandalorians. This also gives him a headstrong attitude, prefering to rely on himself than others, even if the odds are stacked against him. 
Messy Kes Stag sees himself as a gunrunner first and foremost but does often times hire out his services as a hired gun or bounty hunter. That being said with his experience as an underworld thug, any job he does do tends to end up messy, as he doesn't have the discipline or tactical knowledge of a soldier.
