SPECIAL FEATURES
  • High Power
Strengths:
  • High Stopping Power: While not as high as the WESTAR Blaster Pistol, the stopping power of the DTM-45 was more than enough to incapacitate wearers of standard military-grade armor and even some variants of Mandalorian armor
  • Bomb Proof?: Despite its overheating issues, the DTM-45 blaster carbine was built to withstand extreme weather. While WESTAR continues to manufacture newer models, there have been stories of pre-Gulag Plague models being pulled from years of dust or mud or snow and firing as if it had been well taken care of.
Weaknesses:
  • High Recoil: Forced users to fire in bursts or see a substantial loss in accuracy
  • Overheat: While the blaster's power cell held more than enough shots to last long while, the blaster tended to overheat in combat relatively quickly due to its high energy output and rate of fire. This forced its users to allow the blaster to dissipate or risk melting the power cell into the blaster, making the entire thing useless.
  • Reload Time: Unlike many blasters, to remove the power cell from the DTM-45 one had to dissipate any residual heat before removing the pack or risk burning themselves. Even when sitting still, the process that makes the blaster so deadly keeps the energy cells warm.
DESCRIPTION
Developed just before the Gulag Plague, the DTM-45 Blaster Carbine was a powerful weapon commonly used by Mandalorians due to its versatility and its sturdy nature. The carbine fired high energy particles in rapid succession towards a target. The blaster also had several modes that could be used in a number of combinations. Those modes were: Automatic, Semi-Automatic, Sting, Stun, and Kill, and they provided a skilled marksman complete control over their weapon. The blaster often came with a scope that one could link to a helmet's HUD or targeting protocols as well.

The blaster saw steady use throughout the Gulag Plague, the Resource Wars, and even more notably, during the Seven Day War.
