Keeping an Eye on Things

Alor of Clan Gred, Mando'ad'jetii
Mig chuckled along with her when Taozi Fuyuan Taozi Fuyuan laughed. It was nice to see at the very least. But then she said she had hardly been able to help anyone. Mig sighed, shaking his head.

"Really? You saved my life twice, you saved my clan during Hammerfall, and last I checked you making a deal with Jedi is why I was able to make a deal as well. You helped to keep people safe during the invasion, and you keep helping people now. I don't know why you'd think you've barely been able to help anyone." As she answered and finished anything that needed to be done to fix the eye, Mig contacted O8, asking her to roll in with the little gift. He also to the reception area what was coming, just to stop any issues that might have come from a utility droid rolling in with something in a sheet. Soon, she'd roll up their though, knocking on the door and whistling.

"Mig..."

Taozi sighed, and looked down at the tiled floor. How could she explain to him? Would Mig Gred Mig Gred even understand? The defense of Taanab was a failure. Beth would never see her children grow up. The massacre of Clan Mortui by the Confederacy haunted her dreams. Images of innocent men, women, and children being melted by those Manda damned Sith wasps plagued her mind every time she closed her eyes.

She had failed.

"I've barely saved anyone, Mig. Too many have suffered and died while I could do nothing but stand by and watch. Beth died under my care. Clan Mortui suffered so many casualties to defend this place, for nothing. Innocent people were melted and slaughtered by the hands of the Sith, and only one city of people could be saved because of my foolishness to not bring my entire fleet."

Taozi let out a shaky sigh, and looked up with a deep sadness in her eyes. Would Mig understand where she was coming from? Maybe, maybe not. She did, however, turn her head in surprise to the door when she head the knock.

"A droid?"

Mig looked at Taozi, sighing.

"You can't blame yourself for things you can control. I know the feeling too. We couldn't have known the Sith would attack, or that the CIS would bring what they did. Heck, I remember blaming myself after Ilik died, and back when my Buir died. I thought... I thought I did something wrong, even though he saved my life. You can't blame yourself for everything that happens."

Mig then looked to the door, walking over to open it. A T3 series droid rolled in carrying something on its back. Mig smiled, picking up the object. He then unwrapped it, revealing a pink and silver Trayc'kad. He looked at Taozi, holding it out.

"I know you say you haven't done a lot, but you're the reason my clan is still here. That being said, I wanted to give you this. It's the highest honor I can give someone outside the clan.

Taozi Fuyuan Taozi Fuyuan

Taozi bit her lower lip, clasping her hands together in her lap as she looked down at the tiled floor. Part of her knew Mig Gred Mig Gred was right. The logical part of her that was usually always at the forefront of her mind...

But Taozi's heart was too broken by tragedy.

The doctor glanced up as the droid rolled in, and tilted her head curiously at the wrapped object. She quirked an eyebrow up as Mig started to unwrap it, before realization washed over her face when she recognized the weapon.

"Mig... I... I can't accept this... It... By the ancestors you even made it pink."

A small laugh escaped the doctor's lips as she covered her eyes with a hand.

"I don't know whether to laugh or cry."
