Don't Panic
The fun part about having soul-vision was that you got to see someone having a nervous breakdown in realtime. It was truly astounding, seeing someone's mental gymnastics and emotional turmoil as they turned over an impossible roadblock. Aadihr's gorgeous kintsugi aura swirled and shifted in a hundred different emotions, but they all wound up at the exact place she was worried they would when she first opened her mouth: anxiety and regret.
In an earlier point in Niysha's life, it would have taken her more than a moment for her to process the absolute absurdity that was the monoamorous mindset. He was involved, so he... couldn't be involved with other people? What kind of insane self-abuse was that? Why would anyone intentionally subject themselves to that kind of life-destroying jealousy?
Fortunately, that Niysha was much younger. That Niysha had already had this conversation a couple of times. She was disappointed - maybe a little hurt? - but when you take your shot, there's a chance that it will miss. It took a moment for her reaction to crack her face, and might've taken a moment more to process that it was a smile of relief. "Oh, Bogan, I was worried there for a second," she began with a half-laugh. "I thought I might've offended your beliefs or something."
Shaking her head, Niysha pulled her jacket together and stuffed her hands in her pockets. "It's cool. We're cool, Aadihr."
Well. Mostly cool. This was another thing Niysha'd had to get used to: some people thought that just turning down someone's advances was an attack, so they tried very hard to couch it in if's. I'd totally be into you if you were this other thing. I would've said yes if you hadn't had the misfortune of just existing in this other way. It was clear - and probably not surprising - that Aadihr hadn't had a lot of experience with being asked out. For a bit there, Niysha felt like he'd just confessed to having a severe illness or stealing a car.
"I took my shot and missed. No harm, no foul." Her smile was easy, and her aura was barely dented. Hopefully, Niysha mused, that would be enough to put him at ease. "So let's go for caff sometime. Platonically. Just a Jedi and a Sith having coffee. Not a date."
