KAYSH-BORAR
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
When the breeding program at Arumorut required more reliable live broodstock the Bes Hukaat could not solely provide, the Hearth-Warden
Seva Beroya
turned to Felucia’s wild rancor population as the nearest viable source. With the planet under the rule of a foreign power, any conventional outpost was impossible.
So, a Mandalorian was tasked instead with building nothing at all. Kaysh-Borar exists as a standing contradiction: a Covenant operation with no walls, no flag, and no name spoken, surviving entirely on the discipline of staying unseen. Its only output is a quiet, irregular trickle of crated rancors bound for Arumorut, and the certainty that, should it ever be found, there will be nothing left to find.
- Intent: To establish a concealed Borar-Node in the deep wilderness of Felucia, dedicated to the live capture and smuggling of native rancor specimens, seeding the Iron Covenant’s breeding program at Arumorut, Vlemoth Port.

- Canon: N/A (Custom location on a Canon planet).

- Structure Name: Kaysh-Borar (Designation: Covert Felucia-Null, unlisted in any standing Covenant registry).
- Classification: Borar-Node / Concealed Wilderness Outpost & Poaching Ground.
- Location: Felucia, deep wilderness.
- Affiliation: The Iron Covenant
- Population: Sparse.
- The Hearth-Guardians: ~6 Mandalorian beastmasters.
- The Locals: ~50 hired Felucian trackers and scouts.
- Demographics:
- ~11% Mandalorian: (Hand-picked beastmasters, Clan affiliations undisclosed to outsiders).
- ~89% Felucian: (Native trackers and porters, paid in coin and supply, kept ignorant of the Covenant’s wider purpose).
- Accessibility: Extremely Low. No roads, beacons, or permanent structures mark the site. It is reachable only along specific game trails known to the Felucian trackers, and entry beyond the outer lines is granted solely at the Hearth-Warden’s word.
- Description: Kaysh-Borar has no silhouette. There are no walls, no rooftops, no landing pads visible from orbit or aerial sweep, only sunken pits, suspended platforms lashed into the canopy, and bait-lines threaded through the undergrowth. What little gear the Hearth-Guardians relies on is broken down, dispersed, and buried under root and fungus when not in use. To anyone passing through, even at close range, it reads as nothing more than another stretch of Felucia’s hostile, overgrown wild.
- The Holding Pits: Camouflage-netted, fungus-roofed sinkholes dug below the jungle floor, used to contain live-caught rancors prior to transport. Sedation lines and feeding chutes are run in from a distance, so no handler needs to approach an active pit directly.
- The Lure Lines: A scattered network of pheromone and carrion bait stations, mapped and tended by Felucian trackers who know rancor migratory and feeding patterns better than any off-worlder. Their purpose is to draw quarries toward the Pits without disturbing the wider population.
- The Cut: A single narrow jungle clearing, kept just wide enough for an unmarked bulk hauler to set down under cover of canopy and storm static. Crated specimens are loaded here for the short, unlogged run to Arumorut.
- The Watch-Ring: A loose perimeter of treetop observation posts manned in rotation by the Felucian auxiliary. Their standing order is not to engage but to vanish and signal.
- The Hollow: A single collapsible command tent serving as the Hearth-Guardians post, comms point, and their only shared shelter. It can be struck, buried, and the site abandoned within hours if compromised.
- Security Rating: Low.
- Assets:
- Total Concealment Doctrine: No standing defenses or fortifications exist; discovery is answered with disappearance, not resistance.
- The Felucian Watch: Unarmed early-warning network rather than a combat line, valued for knowledge of terrain over loyalty to the Covenant.
- Scent and Signal Dampening: Bait stations and holding pits are kept downwind and shielded against both rancor senses and orbital scanning.
- Burst-Only Comms: No standing relay to Vlemoth Port; scheduled, encrypted burst-transmissions only, to deny any pattern for hostile triangulation.
- Guardian Reserve: A handful of Mandalorian hunters held back for emergency extraction of personnel only.
