The FOrce Beacons are a network of force augmented crystals spread across the galaxy. Set up like and designed to look like normal communication relays that are outdated in comparison to newer holonet and shadownet models. If an attack comes and communications are lost a jedi can activate the beacon with the force and it will alert the neighboring beacons and orders. While a last resort and failsafe in most cases the benefits outweighed the expenses to have them for places that have been attacked in the past. With it being crystal and force based the chances of the signal being blocked outside of attaching force nullification technologies is incredibly low but not entirely impossible with another force user.
