- Allows for a Wide Range of Movement: The Yoroi Mk1 was specifically designed for use by Koji while he was "Kage", and as a result is a perfect fit. It allows for exactly the right set of movements to facilitate his combat repertoire.

The Yoroi Mk1 was initially designed by the Kiyotaka Family to further their control over the Planetary Underworld. It was to be a prototype for the use of the main Family, while slightly inferior, but also cheaper to produce replicas would be utilised to equip the average Kiyotaka henchman.
After the "Night of the Red Rose", however, the technologies used in its production were immediately declared a corporate secret, and any plans for its mass production were put on hold.
A different doctrine was chosen for providing armour to Kiyotaka Henchmen, and a different developmental program was started. The Yoroi Mk1was reserved exclusively for the use of the heir, and "Kage" thus had his own unique armour.
