"Kadir'litr is a tool for accessing the arcane. Through this discipline, the secrets of the Force are revealed to those who seek them."
- Excerpt from the Introduction

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Media Name: The Kadir'litr Codex
  • Format: Codex
  • Distribution: Rare
    • Distribution is kept to the Mandokarla and is restricted to those who have become A'srucyar.
  • Length: Long
  • Description: The Kadir'litr Codex is a manual, in almost textbook-like form, that details instructions and learnings on the Kadir'litr, Mandalorian Force Magicks. Appropriated from the powers of Sith Magic and Dathomiri Magic, Kadir'litr is not a new invention of Force Powers, but rather a reinvention that allows Mandalorian Force Users to be able to perform Force abilities historically restricted by culture and language, such as traditional Sith or Dathomiran powers. These Force Abilities can often only be utilized through the use of spoken incantations, which has created the appearance -- and in some cases belief -- that what is being performed is 'magic' rather than abilities of the Force. Kadir'litr is the performance of these abilities through Mando'a incantations, making these abilities more accessible to Mandalorian Force Users and attempting to eliminate the stigma of the cultures that these powers are traditionally attached to.

The codex itself is a manual, dealing with incantations, the necessary components to perform said incantations, and various thoughts, philosophies, and addendums by its author. There are many commentaries on the abilities or practical use of said abilities alongside instruction, which include many warnings on various abilities. The codex is structured in a linear, progressive format. Learners are presented with easier spells and incantations so they can master the basic foundations of Kadir'litr before progressing to more complicated abilities. While the Kadir'litr is a means by which Mandalorian Force Users can learn of Force Abilities and receive instruction for their use, it does not grant learners immediate access to using said abilities. Many extremely difficult and monumental abilities are described on the Kadir'litr that very few Force Users have the skill or power to perform. While the text describes and instructs on the use of many Force powers traditionally ascribed to Sith and Dathomiri teachings, the text explicitly condemns both Force Traditions.

The text is split into nine sections. Starting with an introduction, which includes a preface written by the Speaker of the Mandokarla, Runi Kuryida (the codex contains another commentary by Kuryida throughout its text), the introduction covers the basics of High Sith and Dathomiri. This is more of a heavy commentary by Tytos on their origins and ties to spellworking rather than a guide or syllabus on the language. The introduction also teaches the reader the basics of spirit ichor, an ability fundamental to many witch magics. From there, each section details a specific school of Kadir'litr. The first, Abjuration, details imbuement and alchemy. Alteration concerns the alteration of the environment, whether for protection or destruction. Enchantment concerns the manipulation of the mind, while Conjuration primarily concerns healing-based powers. Divination concerns powers based on communication and ascribing information, whether current events through scrying or methods of prophecy. Evocation concerns the creation of matter out of nothing, primarily for offensive means. Illusion concerns projections and tricks of the Force that are not entirely physical, but have applications on the physical. Necromancy, the final school and most restricted and difficult to practice, concerns the arts of reanimation, speaking to the dead, and interaction with souls -- including the spirit realm and the nether. Each school of Kadir'litr is meant to be mastered individually, and generally, sections at the beginning of the codex are easier to master versus sections at the end of the codex.

The codex is written in Mando'a, and generally, fluency in Mando'a is necessary to comprehend the text. Moreover, the codex assumes familiarity with Mandalorian culture and Mandokarla force tradition, enforcing its intended use for adept Mandokarla practitioners. While Kadir'litr is meant to make Force Abilities that require spoken incantation more accessible to Mandalorian Force Users through retooling traditional languages into Mando'a, the term is meant to be comprehensive of all Force Abilities used by the Mandokarla. However, as the Kadir'litr Codex's intended audience is adept Force users, instruction on basic Force techniques such as telekinesis or precognition is generally sparse, or relegated to mention in commentary. The Codex's primary function is to instruct Mandalorians on obscure and lesser-known Force Powers.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Authors:
  • Publisher: Originally published by Tytos Saxon. Reproduced by Mandokarla shamans.
  • Reception: Reception among the Mandokarla has been mixed (the codex is not reproduced among the wider Mando'ade, nor would a regular Mandalorian be aware of the text). While many welcome the codex's enlightenment and the abilities it teaches, some are wary of the codex and have decried its teachings due to the stigma of Sith and Dathomiri magic, and the Mandalorian taboo of any Sith or Sith-adjacent practices. Runi Kuriyda, the speaker of the Mandokarla, has seen to restrict the text to verified Mandokarla a'srucyar due to the corruptive nature of many of the abilities described in the codex.
FORMAT INFORMATION
The manuscripts for the Kadir'litr codex were written on a variety of materials; parchment, flimsiplast, durapaper, or whatever Tytos Saxon had at the time to be able to record his studies and findings. The codex was written over the course of several decades, and as such by the time all of the misinformation was compiled, it was enough to fill a small personal library, in a very disorganized manner. These disorganized writings were compiled all of the manuscripts into a single leather-bound codex, organizing its contents into a purposeful structure. Copies of the codex are produced at Resa, Kestri, on a needs basis. Most often reproduced codices are in a similar format to the original, but due to no standards set for reproduction beyond preserving the content within, slight variations in materials exist. Reproduction of the text in any digital format is forbidden.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Outcast from Mandalorian society during the Force Purge of Mand'alor Ra Vizsla, Tytos Saxon trained within the Daxam IV Mandokarla Enclave as he discovered his own abilities as a Force User and his purpose of guiding his fellow vod along the Manda Ha'rud. After his ascension to A'srucyar, a full shaman and master, he began his own journey throughout the galaxy. Following the will of the Force and the Manda, he chanced along many Mandalorian wanderers, helping them in whatever ways he could. But his journeys also took him to deep tombs and sepulchers, and he developed a thirst for the thousands of years of knowledge hidden away behind arcane and forbidden practices.

Through his journeys and studies, he became well-learned in the dark arts and arcane, learning both High Sith and Dathomiri, and learned to tap into the netherworld and eventually explored its secrets as well. He visited various worlds such as Korriban, Onderon, Dxun, Odryn, Yaviin IV, and Dathomir, all of which housed entombed artifacts, spellbooks, and tomes of knowledge. As Tytos developed his abilities with these ancient powers, he sought a means that others in the Mandokarla might easily be able to learn these powers as well. Thus, he began to venture into his own work of converting these abilities into Mandalorian-accessible forms. So began a long labor of reverse-engineering thousands of years old spells and traditions and retooling them to be cast through Mando'a.

While the spells of the Sith and Witches of Dathomir enable them to perform Force abilities, these Force abilities were not intrinsic to their respective languages. Spell incantations in High Sith and Dathomiri served as keys to unlock Force powers; reason suggested that with effort, Mando'a could be utilized. Thus, Tytos began the laborious process of retooling incantations into Mando'a. His work took many decades, involving much study, many errors, and countless adjustments. Tytos used many Sith spellbooks and grimoire were cited and used extensively in the creation of the codex, though no replication nor sources of the texts are found within the codex itself. Eventually, though, he was able to develop Kadir'litr, or 'Mandalorian magic' in layman's terms (literally, Magic-key).

The Kadir'litr codex in its final form was completed around 890 ABY, where it would go on to be reproduced for the Mandokarla. Kadir'litr is among the many Force disciplines taught by the Mandokarla at Resa, but it and the codex are restricted to only learned Mandalorian masters of the Force. Most Mandalorians are not even aware of its existence. Because of the corrupting nature of many of the spells and abilities described in the codex, it was deemed necessary by Speaker of the Mandokarla Runi Kuryida that access to the text be so restricted. Many of the spells and abilities in the codex also require a great amount of skill, power, and practice to master, and very few have been able to master Kadir'litr as a whole. Tytos Saxon continues to travel the galaxy with its original manuscript, hoping to learn more and expand on its texts as well as finer tune the contents within.

Very detailed and a pretty interesting concept to boot! Mandos and the Force are always something that's good to see overlap in my opinion. All I'll need is a link to whatever program generated the image in Image Credit and you'll be good to go!
