OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Necrobats (High Sith: Kûtszarwas, or "death bats")
  • Designation: Non-sentient
  • Origins: The onboard lab of the Glass Menagerie, a Cathedral-class star yacht owned by Khayyam the Alchemist
  • Average Lifespan: 9 years
  • Estimated Population: Rare
  • Description: Necrobats may vary wildly in appearance, but generally speaking they all have short fur, long pointed wings, lavender-colored blood, and sharp fangs.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Breathes: Type I
  • Average Height of Adults: 8.89 cm (3.5 inches)
  • Average Wingspan of Adults: 17.78 cm (7 inches)
  • Skin color: Skin is pale with a lilac or purplish tinge due to blood being lavender in color.
  • Hair color: Fur comes in white, gray, brown, or black.
  • Distinctions: Ishani once described them as "kind of cute, in a pathetically ugly sort of way". Males of the species are slightly larger than females. Aside from differences in size between birth and maturity as they grow larger, they do not exhibit any visible signs of aging.
  • Races: N/A; While the appearance of the necrobats may vary, their abilities and basic physiology remain the same regardless.
  • Force Sensitivity: N/A
Strengths:
  • Vampire Bat: The saliva of the necrobat carries a virus which may infect prey they manage to bite, even if actual feeding fails. This virus may induce a rapid transformation in the infected, which could turn them into a mindless zombielike vampire driven by a ravenous thirst for blood.
  • Echolocation: Necrobats rely on a form of sonar called echolocation to visualize their environment by bouncing sound waves off of objects. Their hearing is extremely acute as a result, to the point where they can sense another creature's breathing.
Weaknesses:
  • Delicate: Necrobats are small creatures with little natural armor. Their wings in particular are thin, delicate, and webbed with veins. Targeting the wings will impair their ability to fly as well as "walk", as they rely heavily on them to move even on the ground.
  • Photosensitive: Being Sithspawn, necrobats are vulnerable to the Light Side of the Force. Exposure to the Light can severely wound or eventually kill them.
  • Must Feed: If they go more than two days without blood, they will die.
  • Blind As a Bat: Their eyesight isn't terrible, but it is limited and they prefer to rely on echolocation, which can be fooled.
CULTURE
  • Diet: Hematophages; necrobats feed on blood. Over the course of a day, a single necrobat may consume as much as one ounce of blood. Their weight can double after just one feeding, though their unique physiology and method of processing the blood ensures that they do not have difficulty flying afterwards.
  • Communication: They communicate with one another by making sounds, some of which are so high on the electrosonic frequency humans cannot hear them.
  • Technology level: N/A
  • Religion/Beliefs: N/A
  • General behavior: Necrobats are nocturnal predators, preferring to hunt at night. They roost in sex-segregated colonies in places with little light, such as caves. Female necrobats can only carry one baby at a time, but the gestation period is short (lasting about a month; if they are grown in an exowomb that time is halved) and they reproduce rapidly, as rodents are wont to do. They are easy to form bonds with and can be controlled by a skilled Force User.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Created for the domination of Folende by Sith acolyte Arcturus Thesh, necrobats are a new species of Sithspawn. Since they were Arcturus' first attempt at creating life, he was assisted in the endeavor by two experienced alchemists, Khayyam and Silas Fogg, as well as Ishani Sibwarra. Khayyam, a former member of the Primyn Group, utilized their technology in the endeavor.

While early trials used only bloodbat DNA, which was then mutated with the Force, subsequent versions of the necrobats incorporated the DNA of gackle bats to increase the potency of the venom. The venom paralyzes their victims so that they may feed, but their saliva also carries a virus similar to rabies which infects their victims, rapidly transforming them into vampires.

Howdy. This submission is almost perfect but there are just a few small things to correct:

1.) Origin: Please link what area of space that were created in, if possible, or even a planet per the template.
Origins: [ This can be a planet (canon or Chaos canon sub), a company's lab, a region of space, extra-galactic, etc. Provide a link if applicable. ]

2.) Vampire Bat Strength: Be careful to word things so that it doesn't imply a "hit" being called. Just a few words changed can fix that. There's always a chance that the virus MAY not infect others, nor, can it be used to turn PC's into zombies against the writer's will. The submission should reflect that. I've edited it in red below.

Let me know when those items are updated and I'll get you on your way. Thank you!
