It's a real brawl out there.​

​

Those bloody pirates have gone and taken over part of the relatively peaceful world of Lydrax. That's saying something considering the world is known for being rather hazardous for your health if you don't wear the proper gear. It's a junkworld out there. Lots of scraps and pieces for them to pick at to make their ships more dangerous to themselves and to the people they target out there in the cold dark of space. Suffice to say, they aren't real keen on having the lawful arm of the Republic coming down on them.​

Unfortunately, they've overtaxed the ecosystem. The main city is running its scrubbers on overdrive, which has caused oxygen levels to deplete. Oxygen deprivation is running rampant through certain sectors of the poorer people's enclave while the pirates hog up the higher oxygen levels. To make things worse, chemical waste build up is poisoning the water supply, and leaching into the ground so heavily that they may soon have to leave the world.​

Unless the Republic can do something about it.​

​

​

A band of pirates have decided to make Lydrax their defacto home. They've set up with their ragtag fleet in the space above the planet, but most of their number occupy one of the cities on the world itself. As a junkyard planet, it's easy for them to occupy some of the space without anyone raising a real issue. Unfortunately for them, the Republic isn't keen on piracy. Capture or kill the pirates, and erase them from the surface of Lydrax.​

​

Build a chemical waste facility to process all the chemical waste that has been dumped on the planet. It can be any sort of facility, as long as it renders the waste harmless to the planet and to the people and doesn't create a larger problem.​

​

Render medical aid to the people of the main city as they struggle to keep up with the proper oxygen levels. Keep the pirates at bay, while the soldiers do their work, and fix up the struggling scrubbers so that people can continue to breathe.​

Objective: One
Location: Lydrax Space

A shield ship exited hyperspace well within scanner range of the world. The imposing, diamond shaped vessel advanced towards the pirate fleet of space junk that orbited the planet. Behind it, several other ships reverted to real space. One of them was the RNV Reparate Hope with Admiral Tylane standing on the bridge. Hands were clasped behind her back, one foot slightly before the other. She said nothing at first, her gaze flitting over the world before them, what she could see. When she was satisfied, she turned to the communications officer.

"Lieutenant, all ships to battle stations. Deploy fighters into the shadow of the shield."

"Yes, ma'am."

From what she could see, the biggest enemy vessel was Corvette class. It wasn't going to be much of a fight with the fleet the Republic had sent, but it would send a surefire message to anyone that thought they could mess with the Republic. Pirates would soon run in terror. She didn't smile, though. Her fingers grasped her hand tightly enough to make pink skin turn white. She was ready for the light show to begin.

"Helm, starboard 40 degrees."

"Copy. Starboard 40 degrees."

In moments they would come out of the shadow of the the shield ship, and then the guns would fire on the pirate vessels. They'd shred them and then the ground troops would go in and take care of the ones on the ground. She couldn't wait. Her face was still impassive.

The wookies stared at him like a predator would its prey. Cedric stared right back, his visage hidden by steel trap that was his helm. His Jedi robes moved about in the artificial wind that flowed through the city like an airborne poison, unlit lightsaber held securely in his hand.

"You need to leave before I make you leave." His voice was heavily modulated by the helm. The wookies seemed unphased. One of the aliens, their leader by the size of him, stepped boldly toward the Jedi Knight, his teeth bared in a threatening manner.

The Wookie's sidearm was raised before Cedric could issue any form of warning. There was a loud snap-hiss as Cedric's cyan blade came to life, and a pained yelp as the Wookie's blaster bolt rebounded into his arm. "Take your friend and leave!" Cedric shouted.

The Wookies listened this time.

The knight breathed a heavy sigh and doused his saber, turning toward his droid companion.

"We're clear for now R3. Can you replace the scrubbers in that filtration system?" Cedric asked as he gestured toward the system air system the Wookies had been guarding. "I'll make sure we don't get any more visitors."

 

[R3-F3]

Location: Lydrax, Main city, Lower Levels (With Cedric)

R3 scanned studied the scrubbers, running a few diagnostic scans as it went.

"Hmm... Most likely, however it will take time based on what damages I can find." It whistled, only translating to basic for anyone with a translator on hand. One of the small fusion cutter arms extended, cutting free the bolts hiding away the rest of said air system. With another quick scan, the droid began its work. The air filters, much to the droid's displeasure, were in extremely bad repair, many parts ground to nothing but dust due to over working.

"Correction, this will take quite a lot of time..." It said with an annoyed and sorrowful whistle.

[Lucindi Kinswi]

Lucindi looked around here with equal parts excitement and fright, her green eyes shining brightly behind the visor across her face. Debris rose around her in towers, keeping her from seeing her surroundings very well, due to the dim lighting. What the hell was she doing here? This planet’s lighting wasn’t the best and she amped up the wattage on her night vision visor pulled across her face. She clenched and unclenched her fists around the handles of the gauntlets she wore. Luce just couldn’t ignore the distress signal that had come up from… Wherever this was. She shivered, moving one foot in front of the other, looking for whoever had called out at to her ship. Luce pulled a mask over her mouth, breathing deeply. There was something wrong with this place; something wrong with their air.​

Luce paused as she rounded a corner. There were several dark shapes walking away from two other shapes. A bright light came from one of the shapes that had stayed behind, finally giving Luce proper sight for the first time since landing the Faulty Starlight on this planet. It looked like a man and a droid, but she couldn’t distinguish much else from this distance. Luce grimaced, pounding her gauntlets together, fist bumping herself. The action caused lime green sparks of electricity and Force to emit from the gauntlets. Luce took a deep breath. All she knew was that there were people down here in trouble and she had to do everything in her power to help them. Steadying herself, Luce darted forward, towards the two shapes.​

Luce skid to a stop about twenty feet away from them. ”Hey! You two! You the ones with the distress signal?” Her voice sounded gravely through the mask over her face. She stood in a stance that could easily be switched to a fighting one, but she didn’t want to appear to threatening if they were the ones who needed help.​

 

[Jaster Awaud]

Location: Lydrax main city, Upper Levels
Objective 2: Build Chemical Disposal Plant

A voice came over the radio to Cedric, "I'll never get how you understand that bot, but I wont ask." It was Jaster from several levels up, his company had financed this little Humanitarian Mission. "Next shipment for those scrubbers wont be landing until Admiral [member="Tylane of Isobe"] clears the skies, tell your astromech it will have to deal with what we got down here."

the UTC had lost several transport vessels in this system thanks to these pirates. Even the current mission to help the inhabitants was going poorly, 2 more ships were lost while landing supplies and at least 10 kidnappings. He was glad to hear the Republic was making a military move on this planet, and as such he landed with the first wave personally. That all changed when the pirates came back from raiding and they were now stuck on the planet. Construction on the Plant was nearly at a stand still, he needed another supply of Construction Droids, otherwise it would need to be done by sentient hands, and that was just slow. He would have to join the Republic Soldiers and local volunteers to get the foundations for the new construction droids that would be landing soon, hopefully.

He went back on the radio, "I'll get what supplies I have up here and send it down, watch out for those gangs in sector 3, I do not have enough soldiers to send to your aid."

"And here I was hoping to be home before night fall." Cedric groaned, though it wasn't a terrible inconvenience. He'd expected the scrubbers to be in especially bad shape, but he trusted that R3 could work his magic well enough. The droid had a chance to prove himself, and Cedric was confident that he would excel.

"What?" The cowled knight shifted his attentions toward the approaching stranger. His hand once again fell to the weapon hanging from his side, though he felt nothing by way of malignancy from this one. No, if anything he felt an overpowering sense of....annoyance?

"We didn't send the signal, but we were responding. The gangs are trying to keep the air filtration units from being repaired. Figured it's something to do with controlling the lower levels," he frowned beneath his mask. "There's likely to be more of them if you want to stick around. Do you know anything about fixing these scrubbers?"

He paused. "Oh, I'm Cedric by the way, and this is R3. We're with the Republic relief force. I-"

Cedric was interrupted by General Jaster's message. The news was ill indeed.

"Copy," he replied, "We'll need to double our efforts. Reinforcements are cut off." He added as he turned toward R3.

 

[R3-F3]

"I will need power rerouted to kick-start the system again, probably take it from the lighting on less populated levels if nothing else can be found. From there, I may be able to jerry-rig the brushes. They'll work for now, but for how long is anyone's guess." R3 whistled, spinning its head to face [member="Cedric Grayson"]. Its small fusion cutter appendage folded back into its body with a small click.

"However, I can't do anything until this system gets more power."

 

[Lucindi Kinswi]

Luce looked the man up and down, taking in his weapon at his side, as well as his little friend to his side. She curled her lip, but it was not visible behind the mask covering the lower half of her face. He didn’t look like someone who would be out and about on a planet like this, helping the little guys. Maybe he was in it for money or something. Or maybe he was lying. Luce crossed her gauntlet covered hands over her chest with a huff. Until this Cedric proved otherwise, she’d trust time. She knew she was outnumbered on this planet, not to mention could barely see twenty feet in front of her. Luce probably needed his help.​

Luce smirked, dropping her arms to tap her gauntlets together, lime green sparking bright in the dim light. ”You’re in luck, Mr. Cedric. I’m a jack of all trades, so to speak.” She walked closer, eyeing the droid from behind her night vision visor. Scrubbers, huh? Luce clicked her tongue, recalling a tech manual she had read recently about similar machines. She knew she’d be able to fix it, if she had the right tools. Which, she definitely didn’t. Not here anyways. ”While normally, that’s something I could easily fix,” she jestered to the scrubber, ”I don’t think I’ve got the tools to fix it with me. Hard to carry much with this.” Luce shrugged, looking down at the pitch black, skin tight body armor she had on. ”So, how about I help you with these pirates, aye, Mr. Cedric?” Luce placed her hands on her hips, squaring up to the man. ”The name is Lucindi, but don’t ever call me that. Its just Luce, cool?” She gave him a nod and sassy, half-assed salute.​

 

[Icarn Amonta]

Location: Lydrax main city, Upper Levels
Objective 0: Meet the enemy

Icarn had heard there would be Wookiees. His intel had been very clear that there would be Wookiees involved. So, he prepared for Wookiees. He even went so far as to dawn the form of a Trandoshan as he neared the particular air system. That was sure to put them on edge, right? All the better to encourage their departure. Or backfire and push them to skip the chatter and just attack him. It was a toss-up, really, and one Icarn was willing to risk.

These people weren't Wookiees. That, or they were hairless defects, a tragedy like no other. That didn't do much for Icarn's mood, the altered skinshifter not even trying to hide his disappointment. Lips pulled back, revealing a jaw filled to the brim with teeth just ready to shred through a limb, in a growl towards nothing in particular.

Then he caught sight of Cedric, and slitted eyes shifted from annoyance to recognition, to glee. "I know you," a voice that couldn't possibly belong to a reptile, left the man's throat in an overly familiar drawl. "Planning to cause us trouble here, are you?"

 

[Kian Karr]

Objective 1: Take down the Pirates.
Location: Enroute to Poliard

"I hate astroids!" Gnost Karr said through gritted teach as the ship shuttered from the impact of the asteroid off the left flank of the ship. Kian winced at the impact and shook his head.

"You know, the Jedi funds are quite limited at present....can not afford to be replacing ships." Kian said, with a little humor in his voice. The ship rocked again as another glanced off of the shields. "Or Jedi for that matter." Kian said resting a hand on his nephews shoulder. "Trust in your instincts....they are typically attuned to the living force."

"Yes, master." Gnost said, his gritted teeth relaxing a bit. There were still occasional glances, but after a few moments of calmer concentration, the voyage through the asteroids became far less hazardous. Kian let out a sigh he had not realized he was holding.

"Now, what can you tell me about this mission?" Kian asked, knowing the information from the dossier already but testing the younger Shadow to ensure he had done his legwork.

"It is a junkyard planet, with an atmosphere that is very dangerous." Gnost said, the task of informing his master seeming to calm him further as the ship settled into an even smoother ride. "The pirate group we are looking for are settled into an industrial building in the western side of Poliard. They are headed by a women named Shella Zen, who took over the group about three years ago when she killed all the most senior pirates and absorbed a number of other pirate groups. They now call themselves The Risen." Gnost said and he visibly relaxed further as they cleared the belt and began to descend toward the planet.

"And why is it we are going after her?" Kian asked as he began to punch in commands into the instrument board in front of him, laying in their approach vector.

"Because she was a Sith Acolyte among the One Sith. She never finished her training, but she has raw power and enough command of the force to be a dangerous match."

"And," Kian said turning to look at his nephew. This was the part of the mission that Kian knew Gnost was most uncomfortable with.

"And you wish to capture her alive and spirit her away to the Nadiem Enclave before the Republic Remnant military seizes her." Gnost said resolutely.

"I understand your objections, Gnost." Kian said, smiling warmly beneath the mask. "But this is not the Republic of old. We have no official capacity in this government, which is a good thing." Kian said not wanting his nephew to get the wrong impression. "But it also means that any information they gain from her would not be guaranteed to make its way to us without the Shadows having to seek it out by....less legal methods."

"We will capture her, interrogate her, and when we are satisfied we've gained all we can, turn her over to the Republic Remnant for justice to be served."

"And if the Republic Remnant decides we've overstepped?" Gnost asked and Kian nodded his head. It was something he'd considered.

"Then we will apologize....and let the cards fall where they may."

The answer did not seem to fully satisfy the young Jedi but he turned back to the viewport and their destination.

There was more to this than just pirates. That much was made evident by the presence of one Cedric recalled all too well - the bastard that had set his prisoners free aboard the Chimaera. The knight's lips had parted to say something to the woman, but the intruder's words hissed down his own.

"Well, Luce," the snap-hiss of Cedric's lightsaber pike echoed throughout the empty streets. "If you want to help, escort R3 until he gets the power rerouted. R3, only steal power from the most underpopulated levels. Better they're in the dark and breathing, than dead in the light."

He leveled the green blade at Icarn. " - And you'd be wise to explain just exactly who 'us' is before I rip the answer from your mind."

The movement was a stalling motion; a ploy. R3 needed time to do what he needed, and the power had to be rerouted before any real progress could be made. This irritant had done well enough causing Cedric problems before; hhe wasn't going to underestimate him enough to let it happen again.

"Now's your chance to surrender. Be wise."

Location: Lydrax main city, Upper Levels

There was something about this whole situation that Icarn found just hilarious. Maybe it was the odd instance in which his own mission wasn't to hinder these people in the current moment, or maybe it was the fact that this knight thought to engage him. Whatever the particular reason, he was nearly doubled over in hysterics over the knight's threat.

"You? Ripping answers from my mind?" A crude laugh, not quite passing for either male or female, cut through the air as his form shifted and warped. The once towering figure of a reptile seemingly shrunk into itself, trading scales for flesh as Icarn slipped into a form a bit more to his tastes. As the transformation neared completion, his posture straightened, tongue running along his bottom lip.

I'd like to see you try. Rather than spoken aloud, the last bit would ring in the knight's head. He paid no mind to the droid nor woman, having eyes only for the masked individual who would challenge him.

Another laugh, this one ending in a scoff. "Now why would I do that?"

 

[Jaster Awaud]

Location: Lydrax main city, Upper Levels
Objective 2: Build Chemical Disposal Plant

A large wrench flew across the chemical planet as the tall Mandalorain was holding a man off the ground and threw a large socket wrench at another man who was holding a blaster. These pirates had attacked the waste planet and killed another two of Jasters Corporate Police Officers. He arrived to deal with the threat personally, as such he took it very personally. "You pirates never learn do you," He readied to throw the man when a blaster bold went off.

The bolt ripped through the air and stuck Jaster in the left hip. Still standing, the armor took the brunt of the hit and the on board Kolto and Liquid Herbs took away the rest of the pain. He turned to look at the young man who was holding the shaken blaster and his eyes glowed a brighter red, and with one hand he snapped the neck of the man he was holding off the ground. With the drop of the body, and it hit the floor, he steadly walked over to the young man. Over the radio the Officers in route to assist Jaster radioed in to offer their assistance. "Mr. Awaud, do you require our assistance, we heard a shot."

Jaster lifted his hand up to his helmet and continued to approtch the boy, "No need Caption, sector 12 is now clear and return to patrol." His shadow was now taking over the shape of the man. "Just have a straggler to question." Then the radio turned off.

 

[R3-F3]

Not wasting a moment, R3 wheeled over to a console that housed an Astromech port. It came to stop, extending the small arm and connecting to the system.
Security codes? Okay... The droid thought, errant, as it turned its probe more. A small hatch opened, revealing a small maintenance droid. It hovered from it compartment, moving towards the opened vent nearby, under R3's orders, naturally. It's job was to clear the damaged beyond repair scrubbers while R3 set to work on the cords.
The droid made its way to the open compartment and floated slowly in, scanning the immediate damage.

Luce eyed the individual who had walked up to them. She could tell something was just… Off about the individual, something even she could see with the least amount of visibility of, well, anyone in the area. She would never admit it, but she was kind of itching to fight, which was part of the reason she had come down to the planet after receiving the distress signal; however, Luce could tell that this Cedric guy was familiar with the intruder and wasn’t really interested in getting in the middle of someone else’s affairs. Luce kept her distance from other people for a reason. Not to mention that the strange looking… Human, maybe? Yeah, human… Hadn’t even really looked her way. With a nod, Luce jogged after the little droid, her ponytail of pink and green bobbing after her.​

Luce kept her eyes open, scanning the area around her and the droid as it did its work. Her heart pounded with annoyance and a twinge of nervousness. She was worried that someone would be hiding in the darkness that she couldn’t see. The visor could only do so much to aid her horrible vision. Luce wanted to ask what the status was and see if she could be of any help, but she had left her translating device on her ship, not even thinking about the fact that someone may speak something other than Hapan or Basic. Instead, she waited for either Cedric to show back up or under the droid tried to get her attention for assistance, keeping her stance ready for a fight, just in case someone showed up.​

Luce stood on guard while the droid and an even smaller droid worked. A noise to her left caught her attention and she stood ramrod straight, focusing on the noise. Her eyesight might have been nonexistent, but she had great hearing. Suddenly, a blaster rang out, striking her in the right thigh. She yelped, but her armor she had designed protected her. She’d have a bruise, but so long as that thigh didn’t take another hit, she’d be fine. Luce turned in the direction the blast had come from to see a blob of black running towards her, slowly morphing into a human male. With a growl, she pulled a bright green orb from a strand that was mixed in with her hair. Luce knew she’d never get close enough to someone with a blaster for her stun gauntlets to work on, so she’d have to pull a hail Mary to protect the droids. Focusing as hard as she could, Luce threw the orb forward, willing the Force in her and around her to power it forward. The orb shot forward, piercing the man’s neck with an audible crack as the vertebra snapped. The man fell to the floor with a thump as the orb returned to her. She snapped it back into her hair.​

Luce looked down at the droid, her leg thrumming with pain, ”Yeah, honestly didn’t expect that to work. Hopefully, Mr. Cedric hurries up.” She sat down on her rear near the droid, grimacing under her face mask.​

Cedric truly regretted not outfitting R3 with a proper sidearm. Small gaggles of spiced up hooligans were approaching the droid and his pink haired protector from not-so-far down the street. The knight was too preoccupied with his own problems to pay it much note.

"How we doin' R3?" Cedric keyed in the comm, just as a blaster bolt rang out. He felt a twinge of pain, but it was not his own. His senses reached out to another person entirely - another force sensitive - and he found himself rather surprised to learn that the source of that pain was Luce.

Cedric normally couldn't feel the pain of others so acutely; which meant Luce was likely a force sensitive. That fact was further exacerbated by the beads(?) she sent flying through one of the men's jugular. The brief realization stole him away from Icarn, so much so that instead of giving the creature a proper reply, Cedric chose to leap over to his companions.

He landed in a somersault in which his pike came to life. The weapon whirred as it bisected two combat droids that had been sent to keep the scrubbers in the state they were in.

"He's a shapeshifter, watch out for him," Cedric gestured toward Icarn, though he was a bit busy sending blaster bolts sailing away from R3 and Luce before anymore could hit home.

 

[R3-F3]

The droid's dome-like head swiveled to face the approaching hostiles. With an indignant whistle, its probe twisted once more, accessing the defense system. A small alarm blared once, an auto-turret freeing itself from the wall. The dual-laser cannon spun, shooting down anyone near R3 with ill intentions. After that, it shut down again. The droid couldn't run the defense system, decode the security passwords AND run the maintenance drone all at once!
"I'm nearly through the encryption, sir!" It whistled, breaking through a few more security nodes in search for power generation.

Did that really just happen? Did he really just go through the effort of shifting to a different form - something he could've easily kept a secret for a more dire moment - only to be so rudely overshadowed by these..these..nobodies? This was no longer a laughing matter.

Icarn could've easily used this moment to carry on his merry way. After all, there were no Wookiees here to terrorize. And outside of that self-imposed mission, his only real purpose for being here was the observation of some particular group in the area, ensuring there were no potential threats other than that pesky Republic.

And then it hit him - could these hooligans be his query? He had been given leave to end them should they indeed pose some sort of threat. Sure, they didn't look like much, but they had ruined his moment.

No longer paying any of the Republic any mind, he strode up to the little bout, clothes morphing to resemble that of the attackers, getting him just close enough to plunge a knife into the nape of one's neck.
