- Use of exotic construction materials in the creation of the armor set.
- Lightweight: For the amount of protection that Bumos-pattern Junktrooper Armor provides, it is surprisingly lightweight, being comparable to Tempest-class Storm Commando armor.
- Environmental Stabiliser System: In order to survive Bumos's toxic atmosphere, this pattern of Junktrooper armor comes equipped with an advanced life support system and the ability to equip external oxygen tanks.
- Low production costs: The use of already available construction material and off the shelf components helps to keep the overall manufacturing cost of Bumos-pattern Junktrooper Armor low.
- Limited production run: Compared to other types of Mahporeem armors, Bumos-pattern Junktrooper Armor is limited in its total production due to it being created from leftover construction material.
- Exotic materials: Bumos-pattern Junktrooper Armor uses large amounts of Ersteel SLCA and Tetra-Polycarbonite Lamellar compound, materials that are not readily available on Mahporeem.
- Scarce: Spare parts are difficult to come by for Bumos-pattern Junktrooper Armor, due to the type of materials that went into the armor's construction.
- Specialized: This pattern of Junktrooper armor is generally not seen outside of Dome City and Bumos.
During the construction of the Dome City prison complex on Bumos, the Imperial Confederation provided Mahporeem with large amounts of construction material, including copious amounts of both Ersteel SLCA and Tetra-Polycarbonite Lamellar compound. Upon the completion of this construction project, Mahporeem found itself in possession of a large amount of leftover material. Rather than discard this material or return it back to the Imperial Confederation, it was instead decided that the leftover material would be used in the construction of a new type of armor.
This would lead to the construction of Bumos-pattern Junktrooper Armor, a type of armor that would equip the prison guards of Dome City. Compared to Mahporeem-pattern Junktrooper Armor, Bumos-pattern Junktrooper Armor is both lighter and more protective. Besides being made out of already existing construction material, Bumos-pattern Junktrooper Armor also utilizes a number of off the shelf components in the construction of its helmet mounted breath masks, in order to keep total costs down.
That being said, this pattern of Junktrooper armor is even less common that Tempest-class Storm Commando armor, though it is more readily available than Chrome Guardian Armor. For its purpose of equipping the prison guards of Dome City, its availability is more than adequate, though it is rarely if ever seen outside of Bumos.
