Jetii delenda est [ Mandalorian Raid of Ossus vs. SJO ]

Objective: Defeat the Jedi, then Escape

Jamie Pyne said:
"If the man, of his own free will, determines that he wishes to leave, under the guarantee of safe and civil treatment, then I would not deny him that, lest he be a prisoner by my hands." The blonde could hardly imagine the researcher wanting to work for the Sith, however, stranger things had happened before. "Free him. Let him choose on his own, without threat or influence. And his decision will be mine."
Waide paused for a moment, his head tilted, and his mind working. He had failed to bring the shield down, but the bombing of the temple had succeeded anyway. The researcher would have been a boon, allowing Waide to develop a way to help finance the Order. He wasn't under any delusions, however, as to how the man would choose. He was at the very least employed at a Jedi temple, with a Jedi affiliated company, in Jedi protected space.

However, Waide had to decide when he had pushed a thing to far. He slipped his lightsaber back onto his belt, then shook her hand. He felt odd, he had the Jedi in a delicate position, he could have possibly over powered her and killed her, then left with his hostage. The chances of that succeeding, however, were small. He was still limited in his movements by his injured leg, the numbness just now receding.

"Deal." He said as he shook, cementing the oddest deal he had ever been party to, and pressing the button that lowered the ramp to the drop ship. Knowing he had lost, albeit in the oddest way possible, Waide stalked up the ramp as the researcher cowered in the corner. "Go." He said as he cleared the entrance and stood aside. The man fearfully crept from the corner, around the opposite side of the bike, and then rushed down the ramp, tripping as he reached the ground, but not stopping until the girl was between him and the Sith.

Waide grabbed his mask, and slipped it on, the bubble of anxiety in his stomach receded instantly, and he turned to face the Jedi. He likely looked very odd, in his mask, but wearing the undershirt and pants of a Ranger, and just socks on his feet.

"Anything else, Jedi Pyne?" he asked from the hold of the dropship.

The Padawan smiled as Waide took her hand, more satisfied that she had garnered some measure of trust out of this whole situation in the end, cementing her belief that there was in fact good in everyone. If this Sith was willing to reason with her, then perhaps there was in fact a chance for the galaxy to heal itself. Perhaps in the future there would be some lasting peace between the two sides of the Force. And perhaps there was a means to achieve a mutual understanding of one another, even if it was a complicated sort of understanding.

Jamie stood where they had separated as Waide retrieved the researcher, who promptly rushed to his perceived safety by her side, very well and happy to be free of the Sith's hospitality. For a moment she observed the acolyte with his now obscured face, hidden away behind the mask he now wore. It was an odd thing to her, why Sith chose to hide behind a mask. Perhaps one day she would understand that commonality they all seemed to share. It was so very peculiar.

"We stand and fight for, and believe in and support opposing forces. We share differing views on the galaxy and how to achieve lasting peace for those we care for. But we're not so different, despite our differences. You've taught me a great deal today. I can only hope you've come to find that not all Jedi are as awful as you may have been led to believe." Though she was still mildly curious about his injury, if he would have taken her life if things had been different, if she hadn't thrown that crate at him earlier.

"I do truly hope I see you again someday."

Though perhaps not in the middle of attempting to destroy a sacred Jedi structure would be nice.

Objective: Secure FOB, Organize Flanking Strike with Pinpoint Accuracy

"Guard up ahead. Barret, Take Point," The vac-sealed helmet of his Ruus'alor transmitted via short-wave radio frequencies to the warrior. To the untrained ear, it was simply bursts of static.

This was what he lived for. The Cusp of war on his lips, an enemy worth fighting.

A cause he'd bleed for. But something in his gut fought against his programming, his nature.

His raising.

Regardless, he moved forward under the jungle fauna. The Guard was vigilant. But he was not perfect. Allan noted a Jedi with him, something similar to a temple guard. Diz and Barc were somewhere to his left or right. They synced up helmet wise. For a brief moment, everything in his world was whole again and silent. Peaceful, and then the storm erupted. He saw the number tick down on his HUD, indicating when they'd strike. As soon as it disappeared he lunged forward, gripping the man over the mouth with his hand and plunging his boot knife into his throat as he yanked him backwards off of the walkway he was on. It was long enough of a drop Allan put him under him during, so as not to cause himself injury.

Shrrk. Thud.

It was muffled by the thick foliage. For a brief moment, all was quiet.

For a brief moment, there was peace again. He got green lights from Diz and Barc, indicating they were done and heading back to their squads. He wasn't, however. He'd roll onto his back, aiming his weapon with it's new silencer up where the Jedi had his head stuck over.

Two feet further Chaakar. Just two feet further.

"Dad?" the Jedi called out likely to the guard. "Dad come on, you okay?"

His stomach knotted. With Imperials, it was the Galaxy exacting justice on the wicked. This was...different. Crueler, by nature. The Jedi took another step forward. And his two shots muffled by foliage, a body, and the silencer clicked out as they blew through the dead man on him and the Jedi's kneecap. The shock was enough to keep him silent, and the second shot had been placed around his throat. A light gasp, followed by a thud. Rolling out from under the Patriarch and guard, he'd roll onto the Jedi and wrap his hands around his throat. Digging his fingers into the partial hole that had developed int he Jedi's throat, Allan would start pulling it open before wrapping his fingers around the man's actual windpipe. It took him a moment, but he pulled it free. The thrashing and the gurgling were standard, and not something he couldn't deal with. After a few moments it started to die down, however. The occasional burst to one side or the other.

Either way, the Jedi died. The force could not stop all, merely a good deal.

He transmitted a green light after a few heavy heaves. His unit moved forward, swathes of Mandalorians moving up to a wall to set their weapons up. They had a small window to operate, and they knew it. E-webs went up, more men died silently. It was the quiet before the storm, and it was not often one was hit by Mandalorian's with this specialty.

Jungle Warfare and Mandalorians went together like Dxun and Onderon Literotica.

Allan was sent forward with Diz and Barc to scout the front, and find more glory.

Glory, what a complex word.

What did it truly mean, Allan wondered as they skulked around. He'd stop, as did the rest as they got the broad-cast communication. Hell, they didn't even want to fight...

It didn't set right with him. Their world being invaded, and they didn't want to pick up arms and push their enemies into the woods?

The came upon the temple, torn to tatters. He saw a man with a knife charging, and recognized him after a moment. Diz and Barc got engaged with others.

Vilaz Munin. Squaring off with a Jedi woman armed with her glowing kad with naught but a knife and a big pair of hangers. There was a few, coming from the right flank towards the man.

"Nayc!" he'd shout before launching himself at the small rag-tag group. He'd land on them feet first, sending a Jedi sliding across the floor and sending a normal trooper into it. Rearing his cudgel back in one hand, he'd bring it against the Soldiers head.

Crack. Squish.

Quick and easy. Fair for him, no suffering and no pain. He'd turn towards the Jedi, sending more of the loud revolvers fire in her direction. Vilaz would not fight the curr alone, not with her throwing her weapon and using the force like a dishonorable Curr.

"Jetiise," he'd roar at the top of his lungs, his voice amplified by a primal sort of energy. The force, in a basic nature. "Me!" his pistol cracked over, and over again. His eyes, trained on the lines he saw. He knew not that it was shatterpoint acting up again, just that whenever he hit what he saw it tended to work well. When he'd fired all six, he'd holster the pistol before launching himself to Vilaz's Side, aiming to support him in his effort to put the Jedi down. "Your six, Munin. I've got it!" the large Mandalorian growled as he slammed his fist forward, trying to feint a punch before leading in with a gout of flame from his wrist-gaunt.

Glory or death, Munin. We will find it together. I have seen it.

The Mandalorian saw the explosive being sent back to him via the Force that was summoned up by the Jedi, and tried to maneuvered away from it. He had a few mere moments to try to not get the full blast of the thermal detonator, but he knew that he wouldn't be able to escape the radius of it. The thing about thermal detonators was that they didn't released any kind of kinetic energy that could damage equipment and kill organic beings. Thermal detonators only released energy full of extreme heat that could vaporize anything that didn't conducted heat.

That being said, the Munin and his armor would be getting some burns from the detonator as his armor was equipped with power armor liner that could resist against heat and fire. Vilaz grunted and groaned as the explosive detonated and released the harsh flames of the grenade onto him and anything else in the blast radius. But he wasn't out of the fight, yet.

I need to finish this.

And fast, too.

The Akaan then pulled out his dual pistols and began to fire a barrage of blaster bolts at Aela while at the same time, since he was still in the air, he descended to the earth and attempted to drop kick on the Jedi as he began to lose altitude.

Her lightsaber flicked from place to place, deflecting bolt after bolt as fast as she could.

Aela didn't even try to send them back towards him, instead she flicked them all over the place, sending them to the ground, the rocks in the distance, anywhere that wasn't herself. A scowl pulled on her face as she saw the man fall closer and closer, her eyes opening as she realized what was opening.

The ringing still sounded in her ear, so much so that when she cursed she could hardly hear herself. The bolts kept coming, her lightsaber flicked, but she knew she had to take a chance.

A scowl ripped across her lips, and then she moved. The lightsaber deflected one last bolt, but then Aela twisted. One of the bolts hit home, striking her in the abdomen as she turned, but by the time it hit her free hand had already come up. She gripped the Mandalorian with the force, attempting to wrap him in invisible chain as he dropped towards her. Even as the pain from the wound in her side spiked through her she attempt to throw the man off course.

Instead of allowing her to fall on him, she tore him from the sky as she had at the beginning of their fight, only this time her intention was to send him crashing hard into a field of boulders below.

Not again.

He could feel that something entwined and tangled him as he couldn't control his movements or his flying. Like some invisible rope or chain. No doubt was the works of the Force from the female Jedi. Vilaz tried to escape from the drag as he could tell that he was being thrown at the field of boulders, but he attempt would fail; however, there was some friction in his drop which wouldn't make his landing as bad as it would originally be.

The result of his crash landing was a broken jetpack and his left ribs being broken along with some other bruises on his body.

He was a man that would do almost anything to get what he wanted, but he was also tactical, and right now he couldn't continue to fight in the state that he was right now. He would have to retreat, but what the Mandalorians' had wanted to do today was done. Their wrath, along with the Sith, was printed on the Jedi Temple of Ossus and to the Jedi that fought here today.

"It's a shame I won't be disintegrating you at all, Jedi," Vilaz said to Aela as he got up on his two feet, feeling the pain on his side, "but our job is finished."

And with that the Munin would throw a flashbang at the Jedi, for escape purposes, and fire a Lecepaine dart from his dart launcher that was on his right gauntlet. After doing these two things, he would begin to head back to the Mandalorian stealth ships to get off from this world.

Aela let out a curse.

Instinctively her hands shot up to protect herself. An Opaque bubble immediately formed around her person, shifting and coming into life just as the flashbang struck against it. The dart hit a second later, but it was stopped by the thick protective sphere that had formed around her. There was a stall, and then a loud pop as the flashbang grenade went off.

Aela still heard the ringing, but after a second she dropped the orb.

By the time the sphere pulled away The mandalorian was already several dozen meters away.

The Jedi Marshall let out a curse, her fingers wrapping tightly around the hilt of her lightsabers until she glanced back. She saw the state of the Jedi Temple, the plumage of smoke, the odd pouring of gas. Her lips thinned slightly as she looked back towards the fleeing Mandalorian, her head shaking as she realized that it was alright too late. A curse escaped her lips, and quickly she slipped her lightsabers back into their proper place on her thighs.

"Jamie." She spoke into her comm. "Where are you?"

"No, you are not all awful. Delusional, I would say." He chuckled slightly, leaning off of his bad ankle. "Our differences may be small, but they are significant none the less."

Waide did not know how to respond to that. He paused for a moment, watching her through his mask. Then he turned without responding, and limped into the hold of his ship. When he reached the bulkhead between the hold and the forward areas and looked back. He pressed the button to close the hold as he watched the Jedi. When the door was closed, he limped through the hatch and into the cockpit. After slipping into the pilots seat, he began powering up for liftoff.

He paused, then, and stared out the forward screen. He had no idea what had just happened. A Sith and a Jedi had parted ways, neither was irreparably damaged, and the Jedi hoped to see the Sith again. A pit formed in his stomach. He knew he wasn't one of the more hardcore Sith. His interpretation of the Code and history of the Sith Order differed from the mainstream view, but he had never assumed to meet a Jedi who wasn't attached whole heartedly to the Jedi Code. Not without feeling the Darkside clawing its way into them.

After the moments of introspection, Waide lifted off. He angled his ship to fly low to the ground and due west. He wanted to get as far away from the Temple as possible before breaking atmosphere. The other side of the planet, if at all possible. In atmosphere, the dropship maneuvered like a slightly more agile brick, so it would be a long flight. One in which he would be reviewing what had happened, and how enormously he had failed.

Jamie stood in the grass as a small breeze blew past, a wide smile on her face. She let [member="Waide"] go without another word. In her mind things had ended on a positive note, and even though the Sith said nothing about seeing one another again, she couldn't help but feel a small victory in that. As the ship lifted off the ground the Padawan glanced down to the graze that still burned on her thigh to make sure she hadn't mistook a more serious wound before rushing to the other temple guards' aide. Delightfully they were both fine, just needed some rousing to stir them.

The comm on her wrist began to flash, prompting the girl to press the small button. Hearing Aela's voice put a smile on her face.

"I'm here. On the ridge of the mountains. The Sith got away but I rescued three hostages he had taken. Can you pick us up?"

She looked back down off the ridge, seeing the damage from the battle lingering, the flames and smoke billowing up from the ground in several areas. Why the Mandalorians and Sith had attacked she still didn't know. Perhaps she never would. Despite everything she felt a small glimmer of hope. She had made a difference, at least in the lives of three. Saved them, she might even say. As well as survived her first real encounter with a Sith without much to show for it.

So at least her padawan hadn't died, that was good. "I'll see what I can do."

She shifted her weight and looked at the Temple behind her.

Things had apparently not gone very well for the Silver Jedi Order today. She frowned, looking up at the poison gas cloud that was still rolling over...everything. Her head shook from side to side and slowly she began towards where she knew there was a hangar bay. The run was a short one, her hearing quickly returning as she found a small shuttle parked within a bay. The guards that were on duty had apparently not been killed, and she quickly ordered them aboard to fly her to Jamie.

"There's civilians." she instructed them. "I doubt we'll encounter any Sith or Mandalorians, but be prepared."

Within just a few minutes she found herself swooping towards Jamie's location, wondering what the hell had happened here today.

Jamie watched as the ship lowered into the grass almost exactly where Waide's ship had departed from. The researcher and two guards with her couldn't have been more pleased. One by one she helped load them up, getting them situated on board comfortably before finally having a chance to speak with her master. Aela actually looked a bit worse for wear than Jamie, though she hadn't the slightest of idea what had happened.

"You look like hell." She said with a smile. "What happened?"

The woman was covered in dirt, grime, scrapes and welts. "Did one of those detonators go off next to you or something?"

She gave Jamie a flat stare.

"I fought a Mandalorian." That should really have been enough explanation all on it's own. She could still feel the bit of dried blood that clung to her ear, she knew that her hair was a matted mess and everything else felt like it was half broken.

Not to mention the lightsaber burn on her side.

"They're annoyingly persistent." She had slammed the man into the ground nearly three times. "I think they were behind this attack."

Though she obviously didn't have all the intel.

"They had the help of the Sith." She scrunched her nose, shifting her jaw slightly. "Waide was sent here by his master to take down the shield generator. That was really all I got out of him." Other than the nice burn on her inner thigh, a product of not being quite fast enough with her lightsaber. "I pressed him for answers, but that was all he'd give me." In between her catching and losing him several times. "In the end I was able to convince him to release the hostages he'd taken, though whether or not that was out of a mutual agreement, or because I'd hindered his ability to continue fighting on his feet I'm not entirely certain."

Jamie hadn't seen any Mandalorians in her pursuit of Waide, but she had seen the release of the chemical bomb.

"Is the temple lost?" She had to ask, knowing the answer was likely yes. "I was too focused on trying to get answers out of him that we ended up way out here, perhaps a blessing in disguise, in retrospect."

She frowned for a moment. This wasn't something that was easily told, especially...She glanced in the direction of the Temple.

"They dropped some sort of chemical weapon." Aela said quietly. "I don't know if it was the Sith or the Mandalorians...but It hit the center of the Temple."

With any luck the majority of people had been able to seal themselves inside of the Temple proper, perhaps even survive, but...well there was no telling what the fallout would be until after everything was said and done. She frowned slightly and motioned towards one of the pilots. Ossus contained more than just the Jedi Temple of course, so she quickly told the man to take them to a nearby city instead of back towards the Temple. The hostages would fair better there.

"We have to get back to the Alliance." She told Jamie.

"They have to be told." Her lips thinned. "I think there will be a war."
