ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Our Fastest Ship: The hyperdrive is insanely fast. Prepare to throw travel duration out the window, because the sheer speed of this thing renders the concept of time itself irrelevant. I know you never really cared anyway. But it truly does not matter now that you've officially gone to plaid.
  • Mind Over Machine: Since jellyfish are all nervous system and not much else, for once connecting your brain directly to a starship actually makes thematic sense to me. The Jellyfish boasts a mind-machine interface in the form of the Neurocrown, allowing the user to operate the ship with their mind. There is a bit of a learning curve to use this device and it comes with its own strengths and weaknesses, so it is optional; you can just pilot this vessel by hand if you prefer, boss.
WEAKNESSES
  • Weapons?: It has the bare minimum in armaments: four proton torpedoes. No more, no less. Better make it count.
  • Limited Power: The hyperdrive take a great deal of power to operate. As a result, there is no secondary hyperdrive to fall back on in an emergency, it burns through fuel like it's going out of style, and breaks between jumps to hyperspace are necessary, not optional.
DESCRIPTION
Messala has recently taken up an interest in starships, primarily motivated by his disgust with the modern spacefaring landscape. Everything looks the same or is still basing designs on stuff manufactured eight centuries ago. Boooring. This project aims to make vessels that are more visually distinct than the usual fare, while not sacrificing functionality.

Modelled after the body of a jellyfish and deriving further inspiration from a gyroscope (the tail spins!), the Jellyfish-class light corvette prioritizes ludicrous speed over all else. It's our fastest ship over at For All Seasons, but also our least armed. She makes up for this by having some good shielding and a self-regenerating armored hull. Makes repairs easier. The Neurocrown integration is also pretty neat, although it isn't mandatory for piloting.
