I'm a Jedi Guardian specialized in Force Heal and NFU medical technician training, serving the same function as an Army Medic or Navy Hospital Corpsman (Fleet Marine Force IDCs) in supporting Jedi Peacekeepers on the front lines. But, as my focus is inherently one that embraces combat (the antithesis of the Jedi Consular core psychology), I always identify as a Jedi Guardian.
While I think the class/subclass stereotype can work for
some characters (Sor-Jan Xantha would be a good example of a Jedi Technician), I don't think it works for all the possible ways someone could choose to roleplay their character.
The screen canon never invokes the Guardians, Consulars, Sentinels, etc that the EU writers later invoked and retroactively applied to the characters from the films. While useful for inspiration, I prefer some creative freedom in which to develop my characters outside the neatly pre-defined categories.
As such, I'll have to abstain from voting as there is no "Random Act of Zak" option
