Wanting to stay as far away as she could from the increasing tension in the atmosphere, Aria kept her thoughts very much to herself as she listened intently to the mission briefing. It sounded a little risky, but no more than she'd expected and no less than what she'd hoped. Besides, both she and Celiana were formidable fighters and although she didn't know the others very well, they were Masters. They could take care of themselves.

Still keeping quiet as she followed Master Gan, Aria's eyes widened as she saw the temple in sight. She could sense the power, the eerie and vast presence of the Force, and wasn't sure how it was making her feel or how it should be making her feel. Still, it wasn't enough to put her off the mission and so after taking a sip of the offered water she slowly followed the others inside.

Josh wanted to stop thinking about it. Badly. He hadn't wanted to reveal that secret, but it was the best time to. If there was any way that he could use anything at his disposal to protect his fellow Jedi, he would use it. That as part of his job. The Jedi had to do everything they could to work with and protect one another. In some ways, they were a family. Josh questioned the integrity of that, of course, and had questioned it ever since the Republic's Jedi Order had stabbed him in the back at the end of his tenure as The Grandmaster Of The Jedi Order. But in some Jedi, in some that he could trust... That family aspect, to a degree, was still there. And he would do everything necessary to protect them and make sure that they all got through this alive. That was his job. That was his job, his role, his duty as a Jedi.

He just hoped that one day, he'd be relieved of this pain.

As they came in, he could sense it. The darkness, the corruption... The temptation. He could feel full well what had brought the fall of Atris. But while it would never corrupt him... The other three could see it on his face. It pained him. It pained him more then it pained them. On his own, he was able to resist corruption just fine. Resist temptation. What he had inside of him made sure it would never tempt him... But every single time he felt it, he was visibly pained. It was written all over his face as they went. He was constantly being reminded of something. Constantly reliving something that hurt him terribly. At one point, he even visibly winced.

He'd relax and manage to remain calm throughout the mission, of course, but he'd need time to adjust... Usually, it was just a short deal. But this... He was being exposed to it constantly. He was in hell. And yet, he'd still told them what he would stand by if need be... If they were in danger of falling... Leave the mission to him.

As the others congregated around her, she took a moment to dwell within her mind. Already she could feel the pull of the dark auras that clung to this place. Atris was an incredibly gifted Jedi to have held out against the pull of the dark side for so long, however Rasu could understand how one could inevitably succumb after the consistent bribing and coaxing of these dark forces. Her preliminary scouting had not prepared her for something of this magnitude but her decades of training would be of some assistance. There was nothing that this auras could do or say that would sway her allegiance. The same could be said for all Jedi in a perfect world of course.

This was not a perfect galaxy, Rasu had found this the hard way, and as she looked upon the two Padawan's, the Shi'ido could not help but be reminded of her own daughter, wandering the galaxy open to whatever force consumed her first. She would not let it happen again to the two before her.

Preparing herself once more, Rasu entered the temple, being consumed fully by the dark abyss. She was the emerald light of the darkness and this temple had been without light for too long.

I sensed rather than saw the change in both Masters. I also felt the tug of darkness at me, though not long ago Master DragonsFlame had told me that doing what was necessary wasn't darkness. As it was before I'd ever left Coruscant I'd made the decision to be a shield for others. I was a blade of light in the deafening dark. The fact that Aria was here only strengthened that belief inside of me. I knew I'd do whatever was needed to keep her safe the Masters were on another level entirely but I, I could fight to keep Aria safe.

I couldn't shake the feeling though that there was someone or something watching us as we headed further into the temple.

As the woman's eye adjusted to the darkness, she brought her hand towards her lightsaber. While she sensed no malicious intent within the archive itself, the ebbing dark aura's drew the woman to favour precaution. Her golden blade ignited with the familiar snapping hiss of the Jedi weapon, radiating its light across the area. As the group made their way further from the entrance, the natural light began to dim, leaving the lightsaber as their only source of illumination. However Rasu, not wanting to make any mistakes here, extended her Force awareness forward also, probing the area ahead of them to ensure they would all remain safe. The Shi'ido would not see any harm come to the group so early in their journey.

Continuing forward, Rasu flashed a look back to ensure all was well with her fellow Jedi. As they ventured further, the auras of the dark holocrons within overwhelmed her senses. What once would have been a simple task, such as determining the emotions of her teammates, became a lot more difficult. Using the Force would be a lot more strenuous on the body as the journeyed further.

Their footsteps began to echo as the entrance hall was left behind them. Rasu's lightsaber no longer illuminated the walls which could no longer be seen if they even existed in the next chamber. From sound alone, the woman could tell this adjacent hall was much larger than the previous area, owing to the amount of sound she made with each step. Hitting a stone, the Jedi froze as she listened to it bounce forward, leaving a loud clang as it echoed throughout the chamber. Reassured that their path was still safe, the Jedi Master continued at her slow pace, honing in on the dark aura's that signaled the location of the holocron archive.

"Everyone stay close."

A breath.

Shakier then before. But the next was more relaxed.

Then the next.

Then the next...

Then the next.

Each one seemed to slow with time. It was a difficult thing, this feeling of his, and while it grew more of a presence in his mind the more they were exposed to these dark temptations, Josh's breathing still seemed to slow as he calmed. It was willpower alone in that event. The idea in his head that these things could not effect him. Sure, these memories that came with every touch of the dark tortured him, but they in a way gave him a small sense of comfort that he was able to use to alleviate these nerves. He tried his best to push the temptation, and those memories, away for the time being. Even without the "blessing" from what had happened to him, he knew what the dark side could do, and would do... And he wasn't easily tempted. But he knew still, to be careful. Master Atris had thought herself invincible too... And pride came before the fall. Even Jedi Masters had much to learn, it seemed.

He would gaze toward Rasu when she spoke, and nodded his head. "Darling, why wouldn't I stay close to a beaut like you? Especially behind you, for that matter" He joked, shooting her a cheeky grin. All in trying to lighten up the mood, really.

There was a moment of unease upon descending into the Temple. Atris had fallen here and it had been a slow process, I was determined not to do the same. Master DragonsFlame had mentioned earlier that if anything became dangerous to let him be a shield for us all and to leave him, which made me think. The only way to be a shield from that kind of darkness would be if he'd embraced The Dark on a previous occasion. Seeing Master Gan ignite her golden saber I extended my right hand and called my saber to my hand with The Force. As my hand connected to my saber and I ignited its Aqua blade in the darkness I heard something.

It was as if there were something here touched by darkness but not overwhelmed by it, glancing down at my right hand and the saber I held I remembered. Master Atris had carried the Jedi General Meetra Surik's Lightsaber until she'd faced her again. This had happened centuries ago shortly before Meetra Surik had gone to face Darth Nihilus. They'd squared off in the holocron library amidst the Dark teachings Atris had embraced and Atris had fought Meetra Surik with her own saber. The one surrendered willingly after the Mandalorian Wars and the tragedy of Malachor. I'd read the history books in the Voss archives but why was this particular story popping at me?

Unless....it was possible that Master Atris upon having been redeemed had concealed Meetra Surik's Lightsaber somewhere here in the temple. There were several places to look though my guess was that it would be housed within a pillar in the Council chambers or in the Holocron Library itself. Though the likeliest place would be something Revan would have done, the saber would be hidden in a place where knowledge, atonement, and battle had taken place. There were two places then...the pillar in the Jedi Council chambers or The Holocron Library.

I heard a skittering in the chamber we were in. "Masters, Aria, did you hear that? I don't think we're alone down here..."

[member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] - [member="Rasu Gan"] - [member="Aria Vale"]

The darkness hung in the air like a black cloud, and Aria could sense that she and the others were on edge. Her home on Voss was so full of light and happiness and the drastic shift in atmosphere had her so tensed up that every little sound was making her start. As she wandered through the temple, focusing on the Masters' banterous conversation to settle her mind, the sensation of being watched was not lost on her.

"I heard it all right," Aria said when she heard Celiana voice her own suspicion aloud. "What do you think it is?"

Closing her eyes, Aria used to Force to try and trace whatever was lurking in the shadows. She'd not used the technique before, but she knew the theory behind it, and although she wasn't completely certain that she'd been successful, particularly with several other presences there with here, every instinct seemed to be saying that something was wrong.

Smiling slightly at the Master's comment, Rasu paused, turning to shoot a look his way. Always the comedian, she thought before she too began to hear the disturbing noises that had alarmed the Padawans. With the group now frozen in place, eerie silence enveloped the temple, with the soft humming of lightsabers providing only a small sense of comfort. The woman waited, listening for the noise once more. The possibility that other creatures or beings inhabiting the area was very likely however what concerned the Jedi was whether the inhabitants meant them any harm.

The dark side continued to seep through her aura, forming a dense cloud around the woman's pure form. She would not be tainted however it made it difficult to continue her investigation. Breathing deeply, Rasu extended her consciousness forward, ensuring there were no unwanted visitors further along their path. However she quickly withdrew herself back into her body as a ominous presence enveloped her own. Reeking of the dark side, Rasu tensed as the dominant aura hovered over her own. The Padawan's had been right. The Jedi were definitely not alone.

The ground suddenly began to shake as a loud thumping could be heard echoing throughout the chamber. Rasu gripped her lightsaber tightly as chunks of stone fell around her, fallen loose by the quaking. Knowing her fellow Jedi would be doing the same, the Shi'ido took a step back to form a tight huddle as the thumping grew louder.

Without warning, a thunderous bang erupted from the far wall, as a giant hole was created by a vicious looking creature. Light flooded through this new opening as it shone on the monster that was now hurtling towards the group. Multiple limbs hung from the massive orb-covered torso that towered above the woman. While Rasu showed no fear, her face radiated alarm as she leaped out of the giant's path, pulling both Padawan's with her through a tight Force grip. As the creature hurtled past them, the Jedi Master caught a closer glimpse at the glowing sacks that hung from the monster's back, recognising them as blister traps.

A Leviathan.

Dread suddenly draped itself over the Shi'ido, as the dark side beast turned to face the group once more. Rasu could not have anticipated such a interruption, however the team had no choice but to face one of the most powerful dark side creations in recorded history. Drawing on a deep breathe, Rasu rose, calling her saber back to her hand before igniting the weapon as the beast charged once more.

[member="Celiana"] [member="Aria Vale"] [member="Joshua Dragonsflame"]

I felt myself being jerked backwards and then fully saw what we were all up against. I had time to say "Fierfeck'la Osik..." then the beast charged again. Calling my Ice blue saber to my left hand I ignited it while in motion and pulled it to my hand. I remembered reading about these Leviathan creatures and recalled that they had several weak points. The blister traps could be pierced and the legs and tentacles could be severed though an apprentice of Master Skywalker had used Force Lightning to kill one of these creatures....I really didn't want to use my skill with that particular Force power here unless absolutely needed.

I sensed the tentacle reaching for me and turning as I moved I flicked my right wrist and severed the tentacle before dancing back away from it and severing two of its legs as I rolled underneath it while it charged Master Gan. "Fierfeck'la Osik! Why couldn't it just be a rancor?! Why did it HAVE to be Fierfeck'la Sithspawn?!" I moved alongside the creature as it moved and hoped that someone could help end this thing. Because I really didn't want to be using Force Lightning this close to Dark side and Sith Holocrons. "Celiana, Celiana Drayven. Trust your instincts and those whom support you here. Do what is necessary and end this threat you've yet to claim what was stored here ages ago..."

Well.... now a long passed Force spirit was speaking to me...Great. Though it hadn't felt as an intrusion in my mind. It had felt, peaceful and serene. What was stored here ages ago, could it be Meetra Surik's saber? If so then I'd just received a request from Meetra Surik herself and she'd mentioned her saber. Focusing back on the problem at hand I continued to move with the creature and hoped the rest of the group would help me begin ending this threat...

OOC: Hope I wasn't out of posting order but I figured I'd jump on attacking this giant thing. For Narnia!!!!

Josh knew trouble like the back of his hand. And in this case, he could sense it coming from a mile away. And the Padawans even, could sense it too, he could tell. His breath quickened, but he tried to remain calm to the best of his abilities. He knew that this place was filled with the dark side, even it's air held it. But to spawn such a creature? How horrific. The wall would open up and out came the last thing that Josh expected to pop out. He expected Master Halcyon to show up in a frilly dress and dance the tango more then he expected a damned...

Leviathan.

The ground had begun to shake, stones were falling from the ceiling... The Jedi Master had stopped dead, but no fear would show on his face. His lightsaber had already been brought to his hand, and all he would do is take a breath. His eyes remained stalwartly open... Just waiting for it to come.

And then it came.

Josh would roll out of the way, as Rasu would help the Padawans as she moved as well. The Leviathan's tentacles were out, and it was ready to devour them all. Devour them until nothing remained - not even a scream. The Leviathan was one of the most powerful creatures in the history of sithspawn, and Josh knew this full well.

But as he stared at it, he showed no fear. Not on the surface, anyway. His expression was fierce, determined... He refused to die here. Not while he was just beginning to get his life back together. He'd come back, at least for [member="Shmi Labooda"]

He'd come home, no matter what.

And then his lightsaber would activate, the brilliant blue blade shimmering and humming as the Jedi Master would brandish it and face his foe.

The warrior was ready to fight alongside his fellow Jedi, once again...

Aria sensed the impending danger a moment before it appeared before the group in the form of a Leviathan. Cursing under her breath, she summoned her lightsaber and activated its icy blue blade, holding it up as the massive creature advanced. Her experience with such beasts was fairly limited, but she knew from past research that it relied on strength and speed and even the strongest and fastest of creatures could be defeated if outsmarted.

With as much strength and agility as she could muster, Aria began darting here and there, rolling and jumping and dancing away, waving her lightsaber at the creature to confuse it the best she could. It helped that it already had three other targets, but if allowed to focus properly it would destroy them all without much bother. She could see Celiana doing her best to keep weakening the creature - hopefully together they had distracted the creature enough that the Masters would be able to safely take it out.

As a tendril narrowly missed her face, Aria rolled to one side and leapt to her feet. "Remind me," she panted, keeping her saber in the air, "how are you supposed to take these damn things out again?"

[member="Rasu Gan"] - [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] - [member="Celiana"]

"How do you get rid of a pimple Aria? You pop it, saber or blaster to the blister traps and then cut as far as you can is what I'd recommend." Just then a tentacle swung by my face and I severed it with a quick flicking motion of my saber. Calling my Ice blue saber to my outstretched left hand I activated it with a snap-hiss and using The Force I threw my saber in spinning arc into one of the blister traps. Judging by the shriek of the Leviathan it worked. My saber was still embedded in the blister trap and rather than pulling it free I leaped onto its back and using The Force to keep my balance I also used it pull my saber along the length of the creature's back hitting several more blister traps before it noticed I'd mounted it like a steed.

The response to that realization was one of sheer rage as it turned its gaping maw back to face me. Several tentacle shot towards me and while I dodged the first one the second caught hold of my left boot and began to drag me towards its maw. Shouting I said, "I am not your Fierfeck'la snack demagol!" Then I flicked my sabers Aqua blade up in front of my face and again out to the side severing the second tentacle. Then it lunged at me and rather than stay where I was I cartwheeled off its back and as I landed I inverted my Aqua saber and channeled The Force into a ball of sheer forceful energy that slammed into the creatures side and pushed it clear away from myself and Aria who I'd landed back by. Reaching out with my left hand I called my Ice Blue saber back in a reverse arc to my outstretched hand.

I could sense the beast weakening but we still had a great deal of work to do before it was vanquished. I'd noticed the scales on it were not affected by sabers either. Looking at Aria with labored breathing I said, "The fleshy bits and limbs, and the blister traps. Unless anyone cares to kill it now with Force Lightning through the blister traps? Maybe a grenade pushed inside one of the ruptured blisters? I don't know how much more I've got...."

[member="Aria Vale"] - [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] - [member="Rasu Gan"]

The Jedi acted instantly, each activating their own individual sabers as the creature approached. Standing her ground, Rasu watched as the Padawan's did their best to distract the monster, even causing a few shrieks of pain to escape, however this Force spawn would appear to not be taken down so easily.

As a beast of the dark side would, the creature appeared to draw strength from its pain and frustration, tilting back its head to emit a thunderous roar that shook the foundations of the temple. Several chunks of stone began to descend from their fragile frame, colliding with the floor as they too added to the dangers of the ensuing fight. Leaping out of harms way once more, Rasu gripped her saber before following the Padawan's example. Now it was time for the Jedi Master's to show off some skill.

Breaking into a sprint, Rasu sent tendrils of Force energy around the surrounding debris. Floating beside her as she approached the Levathian, the Shi'ido flung the stone at the monster. The debris made contact with a sickening crunch, before the Master was upon it. Both golden blades plunged into a rather large blister, erupting on impact. The screaming intensified as the creature began to shake violently, attempting to throw the woman from her perch. However Rasu hung on, using her sabers to anchor herself on the creature.

The beast was distracted now. If the group were to make a joint attack, now would be the time. Already Rasu could feel herself losing grip on her sabers, within seconds the Master would be thrown from the creature.

"Yes, because a Padawan has killed hundreds of Leviathans in their period as a Padawan" He remarked with the upmost sarcasm toward Celiana. Sure, Josh had heard of "Godawans" before, who looked like they'd come straight out of a bad fanfiction. But he'd be surprised if any Padawan he'd met had ever encountered one, much less more then one. "My point is, you two be careful, keep your distance just a bit more behind Master Gan and I! We'll be better suited to taking the thing head on! Take shots on the blind spots that open up, it'll be better for your safety! Try and distract it from behind us best you can and take shots on the blinds like I said when they're open to you!"

The foundations of the temple shook with it's roar, it's tentacle-like tendrils were everywhere, and they were going to have their work cut out for them for sure. Of course the Padawans weren't listening and were striking at it every chance they got, charging in headfirst without a care as though they were some big hotshots. A Leviathan wasn't something to be trifled with, especially for a couple of Padawans. It was best to leave the head on attack to the Masters, and even then the Masters were still being more cautious then these two were. Josh would charge in, trying to keep closer to the Beast's underbelly, trying to be at the limits of where it could reach while at the same time being close enough that he could strike the moment he saw an opportunity. It was clear that the beast's skin wasn't going to be penetrated by lightsabers, so another method had to be found. Josh would roll out of the way as a tendril would come down on him, and he would take the chance to slice the tendril in half just in time to move when another down. This time, Josh would grab onto the tendril and watch as it would float upward. Once it reached a height he could use to grab onto the beast, the Jedi Master would hunt down the blisters, noting that by Rasu's example, the blisters were the weak point. The Jedi Master would find one of them and quickly hold out a free hand, charging up and launching an orb cloaked in flames that would explode on contact, dealing damage to the Leviathan.

But it was Rasu with the play of the game.

Rasu had the creature distracted and writhing in pain with her sabers. Now was the time to attack. Josh would kick himself off the creature's body, and use the Force to propel his ascent, bringing himself into the air. Another lightsaber would fly from his belt and into his hand as it would ignite to bring about another blue blade. Josh would quickly toss both blades, using the Force's telekinetic power to send the sabers, spinning and all, toward it and slashing across several of the blisters. The two sabers would return to his hands, and Josh would land on it's body again, tucking a saber under his arm as he moved to launch a fireball at another blister, before using the saber under his arm - once back in his hand - to stab right into it. Another blister nearby would feel the same as Josh would stab the other lightsaber into the blister, trying to deal what damage he could while it was distracted.

But it wouldn't be long before it would strike back, he knew...

While Master DragonsFlame had a point. Not to mention serious sarcasm he was in prime position to lob a few grenades inside the blisters that had been opened up by us. Darting away from stray tentacles I glanced at my belt and realized I had a cocktail of different grenades on me. Looking up at Master DragonsFlame I yelled, "Joshua catch!" Then pulling two of the grenades from my belt I adjusted the yield of the explosives to the max and tossed two to Joshua an incendiary grenade and one filled with acid. If done right the acid would enter the destroyed blisters and detonate spreading the acidic compound throughout the Leviathan's body to begin eating it from the inside then the incendiary would flash burn the internal organs cooking them instantly.

I hoped he caught them and we could end this soon. "Celiana Drayven, you fight well and use your mind on the fly I approve. You remind me of someone I traveled with, an Echani woman named Brianna. That's it, that why you remind me of her. You're Echani aren't you?" I could hear her, Meetra Surik or at least her presence in The Force resided here. My mind still on the fight I reached out and asked through The Force, "What do you want Meetra? You've been dead and gone for millennia now, why am I hearing your voice? What do you want with me and why can I hear you when nobody else can?"

I sensed amusement, and heard her speak again. "My dear child, I mean you no harm. I can see your heart through The Force, amazing what one sees when we're no longer living. You have a pure heart child and you care for the other padawan...Aria yes that's her name. Apparently the Jedi have become less stringent on romantic attachments in the ages since I've been gone. As to what I want well, I want you to have my saber. The one I originally constructed and took with me to war following Revan. There was much bloodshed at the blade of this saber child and I wish you to have it not for that but for what happened after Malachor V. I surrendered it to the council willingly. Atris held it and it remained here even after she went into exile. It is a symbol of hope, change, and the honor of facing up to one's mistakes and choices. I can see your heart and I know you've already had to do that so I want you to have my saber. Upon completion of this battle I will lead you to where it was hidden here in the temple. Until then continue to fight with honor dear child..."

She withdrew from my mind but I knew she was one with The Force and I'd hear her again soon enough. Dancing back away from more tentacles I ignited then threw my Ice Blue saber into an spinning arc guiding it with The Force while making quick cuts with my Aqua saber. Severing tentacles as I made my way back towards Aria and Master Gan....

Pain.

Pain and.... Fear....

These sensations flooded the young Knight's mind as he returned to consciousness. He felt his own fear as he realized how confined he found himself. Lodged in a small crawlspace, a crack in a wall he'd apparently burrowed himself earlier. Then it all came back to him.

The Knight had been searching, investigating the temple, seeking knowledge, and possibly holocrons to bring back to the Silvers. Yes. That was it.... but, the search did not go as intended. He was waylaid by a beast. A monster of horrific proportions, and not just physically! He'd lost his sabers initially in the rush. He felt them though. The beast flailed about, close by. It wailed as a saber cut into it's flesh. Ryn'Dhal was not alone here. Someone was fighting the beast. It thrashed, toppling a pillar, after which the resulting debris caused his sabers to clatter along, coming to rest a few paces away from the threatened Jedi.

Wrapping a bared hand tightly around the Sigil he wore his neck, the Knight concentrated, willing the Force through his body, purging the lingering 'residue' of the Dark Side, while mending muscles that were torn and injured in his evading of the Leviathan. Feeling the rush of renewed vigor coursing through him, the (normally) masked Knight would emerge from his hiding spot, dust coated and covered in chips and flecks of broken stonework adorning his obsidian fur. Feth.... he thought to himself, realizing he had been awoken by the beast during reverie, and had not his combat-robes donned. Likely a shift had occurred, resulting in a loss of attire.

Now free from his hiding spot, he saw the chaos as it was. Three working together to cut the beast down, while one was mounted atop the monster, clinging to it for dear-life. Her control over the situation seemed to be waning. He was un-armed at the moment, and the oppressive presence of the sith-spawn made feeling his sabers at that proximity nearly impossible. He focused, his senses sharpening, his muscles tightening, as he prepared, watching, and waiting. His moment to act would come soon....

THERE!!!!

The Jedi Master would have begun losing her grip, as he reached to her. Let go, I will take your place Master! he attempted to communicate to her through the Force. Should any have noticed the black-furred humanoid, which was exceedingly unlikely given the monster they were locked in battle with, they would have been caught off guard by the slender, unassuming form suddenly erupting from its own self, multiplying in mass, becoming a large feline creature.

The Felicatian in his transformed state now possessed a mass greater than the four Jedi combined, and before to barrel forth, speed and reflexes enhanced through the Force. The Sigil hanging from the great spiked feline's neck helped to enhance these attributes further. Should [member="Rasu Gan"] release from the Leviathan, she would find her position filled almost immediately by the great cat, his powerful, durasteel shredding claws and fangs buried deep into the flesh of the Leviathan. Would it be enough? The felacatian karking hoped it was!
