Jason's Big Trip

And then they reached the top. Jason's eyes would light up as he would look out at the view in front of them. It was a truly wonderful thing for the child... And even for the two adults in the car as well. Josh would smile warmly as he would point out to the sky. "Look at the birdies, Jason!" Josh would point out with a laugh as Jason would let out a gasp and hold his hands out to the sky. "Birdies, birdies!" Jason would chirp as he would begin giggling.

"It is" Josh spoke toward Ra when she would inquire about the sight. "Though you're quite the sight yourself" He would tease, shooting her a cheeky grin before returning his attention to the sights in front of them. It was... Nice, really. Not having to worry about the galaxy. Just spending the day with company... And with Jason... Just being able to let one's hair down and relax. It wasn't a feeling he felt often. And not one he had felt since he had lost the life that he had craved so much. But it was nice.

Her eyes followed what Josh pointed at the birds and watched as Jason raised his own hands and said what they were. She wore a smile and nodded. When Josh looked back at her agreed, but also included that she was a sight of her own, that smile grew slightly.

"You should see me when I get dressed up."

Because it didn't happen very often, when it did Ra attempted to go out of her way to look exceptional, but not overdone.

They hung suspended at the top for a few moments and started going down at the same rate.

"Are there any rides you can see you want to go on Jason?"

The first two had​ been picked by the adults, depending on what Jason picked, it was his turn...at least in her mind.

Her comment got a chuckle out of the Jedi Master, who would lean in to whisper into her ear, paying courtesy to the fact that Jason was in the car. Luckily, Jason was very much distracted by the sight of the "birdies" and wasn't paying any attention to their conversation whatsoever.

"I'm sure you look like quite the present. One I'd be quite happy to unwrap later" He would whisper into her ear, shooting Ra a cheeky, wry grin in turn. He'd kept the flirtation to a minimum with Jason present, but he was still sneaking in little bits and pieces when the child was distracted. As the ride began to go down, Ra would ask Jason what ride he wanted to go on. Jason would look back at her, and would tilt his head. He wasn't really all that sure.

"Well, why don't we go for a walk and see if we can find something? Worst case scenario, we just take him out to eat and get some brain food in him" Josh would suggest.

"Heh, if it ever happens, I may just allow that."

She looked at Josh as they did this brief exchange and chuckled slightly when she said that. Shrugging her shoulders slightly when Josh did answer for Jason, it could be a plan. Since she didn't think they would be going on any of the extreme rides, eating so early shouldn't be an issue.

"Brain food. Might be good. He can then look at things from the ground and not so high up where he doesn't what it is."

"Just be careful: I bite."

It appeared they were in agreement then. Josh would make suggestions, but... He really hadn't been to amusement parks much, if he was being honest. He didn't know what to suggest, and odds were Jason had no clue what the rides were either since he had never actually been to one before himself. They also couldn't go on any extreme rides, since, well, you know, there is a two year old present.

"Wonder if there's a petting zoo? Jason absolutely adores animals."

"Don't you think I remember?"

The two of them had already spent one night together on Vjun. A very fun and interesting time.

If neither Josh or Jason had not been to these kinds of parks much, Ra had been even less. Only hearing tales of the rides, games and foods that might be found.

"I suppose we can look at guide or map if there are any."

They had reached the bottom of the wheel and needed to climb off. Ra stood up and would offer a hand to Jason unless he would rather rely on his father to climb out.

A fun and interesting time indeed, one he was quite eager to do again if she would have him. He was comfortable around her. Both in the bedroom and just in general. He wasn't shy to admit that he was very open to a second round. Regardless, the three of them would disembark as the car would reach the bottom. "We'll have to take Jason again later, he seemed to really enjoy that" Josh pointed out with a warm smile as he would help Jason out of the car, then take Jason's hand again as he started to walk forward.

"Probably a good idea" He would admit as they would find themselves in front of a large map of the park. "Anything look interesting to you, Ra? We can always show Jason things until he finds one he likes."

"Agreed, that was fun even for me."

Looking down at Jason for a moment and back to Josh, she would ponder a moment as they walked over to the map. Pointing to one end that appeared to be sectioned off slightly, she read what it said.

"Looks like there is a small petting zoo and along the way, we can see what else there is."

A small petting zoo, huh? Oh, Jason would absolutely adore that, he thought. Now they just needed to figure out where it was. The blonde would scan the map, looking it up and down to find out where they were and figure out it's trajectory to the petting zoo. Though when Ra had said "petting zoo", the priorly distracted Jason had perked up and had done nothing but stare at her since.

"Ah, there's the petting zoo!" Josh chirped. "And we are here, so-"

He noticed that Jason was staring at him with big, intent eyes. Josh looked back at him a moment and started to laugh. "I see we got your attention. Let me see if the guide says what animals are there... Since it's a smaller place, likely older, I doubt it has porgs but I heard that there's a planet the Silver Order intends to visit soon with them... We'll go then. But let's see... What does the petting zoo here have...?"

She gave him the time he needed to look at the map and plot their route getting there. Giving Jason a grin when she had his attention, she pointed to it on the map. He could start learning how to read some things and he was interested in the zoo part of the park.

Looking up at Josh as he spoke, two sets of eyes would be meeting his. Shrugging her shoulders when he asked what the petting zoon had, Ra had no idea.

"Hum maybe bantha or dewback?"

"Perfect" The Jedi spoke with a snap of his fingers. "So, should we break for lunch first, or go to the petting zoo?" He asked. "I won't put that decision on Jason because those are two of his favorite things" He added as he looked down toward Jason.

"Why don't we let the nice lady decide, Jason?" Josh would suggest. "We're gonna do both anyway, so might as well let her pick so we don't have to."

Jason would just continue staring at them. They'd said "food" and "petting zoo" and now he was just intent to go somewhere.

"Eat on the way to the petting zoo? Takes care of both issues and don't have to worry about a cranky and hungry toddler."

The intent gaze of Jason made Ra smile and she looked up at Josh after.

"Is that something agreeable to you, Josh? Besides I'm a little hungry myself."

"I could dig that, I'm hungry as well and I don't think a hungry Jason is going to enjoy things as much anyway" Josh would admit in response. Killing two birds in one stone would work, and yes, they could certainly eat on the way to the petting zoo. Though it would need to be something smaller. Something that the three of them could eat on the go. Granted, this was a carnival, small foods were fairly easy to get ahold of.

Checking the map until he found a variety of eating places, Josh considered their options for a moment. "Hmm..." Josh would muse aloud. "We could go for cotton candy, or for the nearby fast food outlet for a quick burger and fries..."

He would lean over to whisper so Jason couldn't hear them. "I'm intending to save the ice cream for later. Don't say ice cream in front of him unless you intend to get him it. But yeah, it's his favorite treat, but I want it to be after he's had his fill of the rides. Something to leave the park with, you know? So I'm hoping to grab him something else for the time being to fill his belly until we can go through the rides."

"That's decided then."

She agreed the would all enjoy things more after grabbing something to eat. Luckily when he mentioned ice cream it had been the farthest thing from her mind and she wasn't going to say it at all.

"Nothing the requires much work to eat. Maybe a sandwich of some kind?"

That hamburger idea seemed to be the best bet all things considered.

"We have the cotton candy after."

"A burger and then cotton candy for dessert? Oof, I don't even know if he'll have room for You-Know-What" Josh joked with a light chuckle. Oh, who was he kidding? Jason was a glutton. He'd have room for ice cream and then some. So it was agreed then, they would be heading to the food sections first. Taking Jason's hand again and letting Ra take the other one if she wished to, the group would head to the food area as Josh would stop to look over the menu for a moment. Considering what was there, he would nod his head before looking over at Ra.

"And what of you? What were you wanting to order?" The Jedi would inquire. He'd been so focused on Jason, he hadn't asked about her... Or even thought of himself for that matter.

She couldn't help but chuckle at what Josh said. Knowing children, Jason would certainly have room left over, even if he didn't.

Happily taking Jason's other hand, they walked to the stalls nearby. Checking out what was offered, Ra made her pick in silence until Josh asked what she wanted.

"Just a simple burger is fine. Better food can be prepared later if we find this doesn't agree. What about you?"

Josh would nod his head when Ra would give her order. "Suppose about the same goes for all of us then" Josh would respond as he would order a few burgers for the lot of them, and some fries as a side dish for himself and Jason - and for Ra if she wanted any.

"We should probably sit down and at least get the fries down first, so as to lessen our carrying load. The burgers won't cool as quickly, so we can eat them on the way" Josh would suggest then, as they would wait for their food to arrive. Once it had, Josh would take the bag after he had paid and motion for Ra to follow as he would lead Jason toward a table before laying the food out for them all.

"So, I'm surprised you could spare time from your very important Baroness duties to come here" Josh would tease, with a cheeky grin.

It wasn't too long before their food arrived and Josh carried it over to one of the tables around. Taking the fries out, Ra offered to get them ketchup. Since there were extra fries, she automatically assumed they would be shared among them all.

"I don't think that title applies to me anymore really. You see the government where that title was bestowed on me is now gone."

That had been with the Dominion and they were gone...for a few years now. The world was now neutral and no government held it. Maybe she could go back and reestablish her ties, but figured it was better left alone.

"Unless you mean on Vjun and there I am only in that castle with no titles."

“Oh really?” He would inquire. “Interesting. You were a Baroness last I did any research on you and it was after the Sith lay siege to it all. I did ask about it but if I recall you just said the title didn’t mean much.”

It was mainly an intellectual curiosity that drove him. One moment his friend was suddenly a Baroness and now she was not. If she held no titles nor position anymore, where did her income come from? How did she provide upkeep on such a big castle?

“What are you doing now then, if you’re not doing nobility stuff, or with that faction you were working for?”

"The Sith don't actually control the world where I have that title from and it was from before my days with them. You know I had a life before them."

She said this with a slight chuckle at the end. In fact it really surprised her Josh had found out even that much of her past.

"I've had to lay low for a while, fake my death, become a droid at times."

Shrugging her shoulders slightly, there was quite a lot they hadn't talked about lately. What she mentioned was just part of it.

"Still a merchant when I can be."
