STRENGTHS
  • Master of Dread Magic. Irratar has spent several decades studying the art of Dread Magic, capable of utilizing it in battle
  • Corsair Warlord. Irratar leads a fleet of veteran warriors, loyal to their liege through faith, as well as through deed, as he has led his Stratis Host to several successful raids across the stars.
  • Underworld Veteran. A noble as he may be, after over 20 years in command of Raider Fleets on behalf of Hemstagon Hegenika, Irratar has grown a significant awareness around the world of piracy. Regardless how renown Athysians may be for their relentlessness into their narrowminded ways, as well as their elitism, it is not rare for Irratar to break these traditions by making pacts, ro even cooperating with pirates, or underworld factions, in order to overcome difficult odds, or reach otherwise unclaimable treasures.

WEAKNESSES
  • Hot blooded. Irratar is very hard to reason with, as he will easily be taunted by the other party, and driven to act hostile
  • Survival of the Fittest. While it may prove possible to make pacts or even alliances with Irratar, should the other party grows weak, or fails to meet the agreed terms, Irratar will soon turn against it, seeing it as unnecessary asset.
  • Treacherous. Irratar shall not hesitate betraying parties or factions he has made pacts with, should their enemies offer a higher reward, or should the other party is shown vulnerable. Ofcourse, such acts Irratar does not consider treason, as any deals made with non-noble parties are nothing but a game to him.

APPEARANCE:
Irratar is bald, tall figure, with black ritualistic tattoos, characteristic of his deeply-superstitious heritage. He always wears long, heavy fabric robes, decorated with countless symbols and crystal jewelry; Trophies of his past plunder, as well as sigils of his Hegenika. His host's emblem is a four-winged vulture, usually painted across the hulls of his warships.

BIOGRAPHY:

From a prince to a slave
Irratar was born in Kardir Hive City-State, son to the Hegemon of the Hive. His early years were a struggle through the harsh deserts and jungles of Athys, as he was oftentimes sent to military camps, far away from the very city. At one point, when he was but 8 years old, Irratar, as he was in a small hunting party, fell into an ambush of marauders, who killed most of the guards and took the boys that were there as slaves. Irratar soon finds himself in chains, at the slave underworld market of Imlagahsa.

The young Irratar did not hesitate to taunt the slavers of his father's wrath, as he was convinced that he would come to his rescue. Alas, day after day, his curses and threats started becoming less and less convincing, as the slavers eventually sell the boy to a Duro pirate, along with several others of his kin. The Duro will take the slaves to Noma, a moon of the neighbouring planet Korrithon. There, the boy was put to work the mines, where the pirate syndicate was extracting Kunda Stones. Irratar will spend 7 years of his life there, up until an Alcademon Athysian fleet launches a raid in the mine. Irratar and a young slave, Krisoth, will manage to hijack a small craft and flee the planet. Krisoth, once a pilot of small freighters, eventually was convinced by Irratar to return him to Athys, with the promise of the young man that a large reward would be offered.

A twisted Revenge
By the time the two arrived in Kardir, Irratar was recognized as the Hegemon's son. His father shall welcome his son, who was believed dead up to now. By the time he is told, however, that those who partook in his son's capture and later on enslavement were not punished, he will send his son out once again, forcing him to vow never to return, up until he manages to collect the heads of those responsible for his odyssey. Knowing that such a task would be near impossible, Irratar joins once again forces with Krisoth, as they ventured once more into the city of Imlagahsa. They will disguise themselves this time as scavengers, where they will seek work as mercenaries. The two indeed find a small band of marauding bandits who accepted them in their ranks. The band will be wandering the valleys beyond the jungles, where they attack farming settlements and distant merchant posts, returning then back to Imlagahsa, where they were spending the winter, before the season once more comes for them to venture out. Irratar and Krisoth will spend three years in this business, until they grow enough skill and funds to get to the high tables of the city. There, the two manage to slowly unfold the labyrinthic hierarchy of the pirates, finding the slaver that once had sold them to the Duro. After confronting him and his gang, Irratar shall strike him down, yet stop from killing him. Instead, Irratar forces the slaver to offer him his wealth and work for him, in exchange for his life. Ofcourse, the slaver agreed. After this event, Irratar's position in the city will change rapidly, as he now had the funds to run his very own underworld business, stolen by the slaver. Krisoth, careless of the noble's causes, sees much benefit in this and takes the lead of the marauder bands, while Irratar handles the market and city's affairs. Their league shall prove fruitful, as they finally, after 6 years, manage to get a large shipment of slaves to Noma, where they were meant to be sold to a renown Duro crime lord. As the shuttle docked, instead of the dozens of slaves, Irratar brought forth his gang's full numbers, launching an attack against the Duro's mine. With more and more slaves joining the uprising, Irratar manages to capture the crime lord and after an hour-long torture, the Dure yields to Irratar's demands. He was meant to keep his enterprise, yet he would be paying a huge tribute to Irratar's gang, as a form of vassalage.

Irratar shall return to Athys, where he shall meet with his father in Kardir. When he was asked why did he not accomplish his task, his words shall be the beginning of the Black Prince: "Killing them would serve no purpose, father. They took many years from my life. Now, I shall take much more"

And so, Irratar shall return to Kardir as the rightful heir to the throne, while Krisoth shall remain in Imlagahsa, as one of the strongest marauder chieftains. Irratar shall spend little time in Kardir, before he embarks his very first fleets to the void, leading his father's Host to large raids against the moons of Korrithos, returning with his hulls filled with spoils.

Rise of the Black Prince
Irratar shall prove a skilled naval commander and a relentless corsair, as he shall not hesitate attacking the well-fortified planet Korrithon itself, forcing the local rulers to pay bloody ransom to the Hemstagon Hegenika, in order to be spared for just a year's time. Daring, and ill-intent, Irratar was from the few raider-warlord of Athys who did not hesitate venturing far into the void, seeking for new places to plunder. Alas, should an opportunity for a vast hoard arise, the Black Prince shall not hesitate to enter in pacts with kings, generals, or pirates alike, in order to get what he craves. Known for his relentlessness, the Black Prince shall not think much, before ordering his mighty warfleet to blaze the void with their batteries' wrath.

The Pact with the Maw
After the great War on Csillia, the flagship of the Black Prince, Blood Spear will sail across the Unknown Regions. It will be seen in where he meets the Brotherhood of the Maw. What went down between the leaders of the Maw and the The Athysian League remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, the bulk of the Hemstagon Raider Fleet is rumoured to be sailing East, towards the Unknown Regions. Where to, remains to be seen....
