GENERAL INFORMATION

• Unit Name: Iron Legion Ultranauts

• Description: The Iron Legion's Ultranauts are the clearest signal of the army's roots in the Eternal Empire that sprung from Kalidan. In the former Empire's ranks, Ultranauts were chosen among the most loyal and most physically capable soldiers the Eternal Empire's armies could muster. The Iron Legion took this idea, and incorporated it into its own war machine. The Ultranauts of the Iron Legion are just an incredibly elite fighting force that is among the best equipped of fighting soldiers in the Iron Legion's ranks, but are also the most intensely trained. Their armor is bulky and heavy, making the large soldiers that wear them become even more imposing. Their faces, when seen on the battlefield or on duty at any capacity, are covered by identical masks that protect them from environmental elements. Their uniform is designed sense of practicality while also creating a terrifying visage to potential enemies. With how strongly built, heavily armored, and elite they are, there is no mistaking an Ultranaut of the Iron Legion.

COMBAT INFORMATION:

• Unit Size: Small - With how intensive the training is to become an Ultranaut of the Iron Legion, as well as how particular the process is to be selected for Ultranaut training, few Ultranauts are even made. In addition, the types of missions Ultranauts are required for make this unit size applicable.
• Unit Availability: Uncommon - Ultranauts are a very elite type of soldier in the Iron Legion's ranks, thus this categorization is applied.
• Unit Experience: Elite - Ultranauts are required to operate in ways that are impossible for standard soldiers, and thus receive extremely intense training which makes this categorization applicable.

• Combat Function: The Iron Legion's usage of Ultranauts is far more conservative than the Eternal Empire the organization traces its roots to. Due to the lack of resources at its disposal (as of this post), Iron Legion Ultranauts are mostly employed for honor guards of high ranking commanders in the Iron Legion, or are deployed for operations requring an independent fighting force to work with limited numbers in situations requring more tact than the rest of the Iron Legion is equipped and trained to be deployed for. Ultranauts are thus capable of infiltration missions, where their extremely intensive training, large size, and lethal equipment, will make them worth a small army despite being a single squad. Ultranauts are held to the highest of standards for soldiers of the Iron Legion, making them the most disciplined, obedient, and stoic of units at its disposal.

Strengths:

• Gear Strengths: Despite their intensive training, the Ultranauts of the Iron Legion also rely on the effectiveness of the gear they bring with them into battle.
• Iron Legion Discipline: Any soldier in the Iron Legion is expected to have discipline to a level where they seldom flinch at blasterfire and the like, where their training grants them an amazing resolve in battle.
• Vissage of Fear: Uniforms of all Iron Legion soldiers are designed to create an intimidating image for both civilians that need to be pacified and enemies on the battlefield.
• Ultranaut Loyalty: Just like the predecessors that served the Eternal Empire in years past, the Ultranauts of the Iron Legion are selected for loyalty that exceeds their peers where they are given further training, borderline brainwashing, to accentuate such loyalty even more.
• Ultranuat Fitness: Those who are selected for becoming Ultranauts show physical prowess above that of others who go through training in the Iron Legion's ranks, where their training further builds upon this physical capability.

Weaknesses:

• Gear Weaknesses: Despite their intensive training, the drawbacks of the gear they are equipped with for battle also effect them.
• Grim: Any soldier in the Iron Legion goes through training that makes them incredibly stoic that comes in handy during battle, but has a side effect of making them rather grim for other soldiers to work with - its Ultranauts are no exception to this.
  • Likely to decrease morale in non-Iron Legion troops working alongside them.
  • Do not work incredibly well with non-Iron Legion troops.
• Recognizability: Soldiers in the Iron Legion can easily be recognized due to their unique uniforms, and the Ultranauts in its ranks stand out even amidst other Iron Legion troops.
• Particular Selection Process: Due to the heightened standards that goes into the selection for someone to go through training to become an Ultranaut, the numbers of Ultranauts at the Iron Legion's disposal does usually stay afloat but is never noticeably high.
• Drawbacks of Training Process: The shere intensity of the training to become an Ultranaut of the Iron Legion further reduces the numbers to replenish any losses in combat, which makes this type of unit in the Iron Legion small in total number.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Iron Legion traces its roots back to the military remnants of the Eternal Empire's forces stationed on the junkyard planet of Lotho Minor. In the times following the collapse of the once mighty Empire, the planet's Baroness at the time, Katherin DuPorcelen, began reorganizing the local garrison of troops stationed on the planet into a new defense force to maintain order during the Eternal Empire's collapse. These efforts would pay off in the fact that Lotho Minor saw an increase in order amidst the regional chaos. However, a crucial part of the Eternal Empire's military was its Ultranaut Legion. These elite soldiers were capable of far more than regular soldiers in the Eternal Empire's armies. They were sent to some of the deadliest warzones, tasked with some of the most dangerous operations in the Empire's military history, and chosen due to their extreme loyalty and physical prowess compared to other soldiers in the Empire's ranks. When the Empire fell, there was a substantial amount of Ultranauts tasked with assisting the Lotho Minor garrison. When the Iron Legion rose to prominance from Lotho Minor, the practice of training Ultranauts continued through it. However, they were trained and equipped within the abilities and needs of the DuPorcelen Iron Legion.

In the years that followed, the elite Ultranauts of the Iron Legion continued duties like the Eternal Empire still existed. They were tasked with jobs that required elite and independent squads operating away from the main contingent of troops while the Baroness was trying to establish order in the wastelands outside of the one city on Lotho Minor however possible. Additionally, Ultranauts were given the duty of assasins that, despite their large and imposing physique and armor, they performed well as. Ultranauts in the Iron Legion continue the job of being small and highly elite units that can perform the jobs that no other soldiers in the Iron Legion could accomplish. Their armor and gear allow them to survive in some of the harshest battlefields in the galaxy, as is standard in the Iron Legion's equipment. They are then equipped with heavy, rapid-firing blaster rifles capable of pulverizing targets quickly. They have powerful hybrid pistols that work well for close-quarters combat against their powerful targets. While their standard gear is flexible enough for most missions they go on, some times they may be equipped with different weapons or additional gear to perform better on the given task.

In the present times (as of this post), the Iron Legion's Ultranauts are given the jobs of securing crucial assets for the DuPorcelen Logistics Corporation, as well as anywhere within the territory overseen by Katherin DuPorcelen as a Moff of the Empire of the Lost. Furthermore, the Ultranauts perform duties as honor-guards for high ranking members of the Iron Legion to ensure their security when near hostile areas and to secure the Iron Legion's chain of command. Additionally, when the Iron Legion is engaged in battle in the present times (as of this post), the Ultranauts would be tasked with eliminating highly secured and-or highly valued targets while the primary soldiers perform the regular tasks of the army. Lastly, a least well-known fact is that the Ultranauts have also been tasked with not only securing the DuPorcelen Logistic's Corporation's main assets, but also being the primary security forces for areas the corporation may be performing experiments on that regular soldiers of the Iron Legion would not be trusted to be present at or knowledgeable of.
