- Material: Armor plates are made with reinforced Duraplast. The soft garments that are exposed to the outside are then made from layered Synth-Hide (mask, hoses, connecting garment beneath armor plates, gloves, outer-facing parts of pants, and main structure of boots). Inner garments are then made from Durafiber cloth to both add additional armor, but also have standardized undergarments.

- Environmental Sealing: As designed for the Iron Legion, this armor is meant to seal its wearer from inhosptiable environments.
- Elite Protection: This armor is designed for the most elite members of the Iron Legion to wear, as a result great effort is taken into its making to ensure the protection of its wearer.
- Enhanced Protection: This armor is designed to protect the most elite soldiers of the Iron Legion from common hazards on the battlefield better than what is given to the standard soldiers.
- Environmental Protection: Since the Iron Legion is expected to fight on inhopsitable worlds, as well as standard level hazardous conditions, the armor completely seals off its wearer from the outside.

- Temperature is regulated for the wearer in the suit so its wearer can fight in most climates.
- Visage of Fear: The uniforms for soldiers in the Iron Legion are designed to bring about fear in the masses as a way of passifying local populations by force.
- Recognizable: While the potentially freightening visage may hold many back from hostility, this armor stands out among the Iron Legion if one is targeting Ultranauts.
- Eternal Empire Reserves: The armor pieces were originally forged through repurposing the older armor of the Eternal Empire's Ultranauts but giving it the regalia of the Iron Legion.
- Much of that metal was sourced from leftovers at the Eternal Empire's garrison in various states of condition.
- Somewhat newere pieces were made from materials scrounged or cheeply acquired from disposal facilities the Eternal Empire used.
- Salvaged Source: Pieces of this armor that are made more recently are manufactured using materials either scrounged or cheeply imported leaving pieces in varying condition.

Ultranauts were a staple elite force in the military of the Eternal Empire. In areas where order was necessary to establish in a quick, decisive manner, they would be called. In battles where the tide needed to be turned decisively, they were called. They were fanatically loyal to the principles of the Eternal Empire, as well as the Empire itself. However, when the Empire collapsed, they were left behind with hardly any purpose anymore.
In the case of Lotho Minor, where the sitting Baroness was converting the remaining forces of the Imperial garrison on the world into a defense/peacekeeping force. When offered, the Ultranauts were willing to serve to preserve what the "glorious Empire" had built. Since then, they have continued their fanatically loyal service as the most elite soliders of the Iron Legion.
The armor the Ultranauts are equipped with were originally repurposed from the reserves of the Eternal Empire's remaining armories that have not been fully looted or sold off in the chaos after its fall. From there, pieces of disposed armor were then used to assemble more pieces as some were added with the Iron Legion's recruit pool growing in size. Additionally, replacement pieces would be manufactured using the industrial facilities at the remenant's disposal. While made in shoddier standards due to minimal resources (as of this post), the armor designated for the Ultranauts of the Iron Legion still boasts enhanced protection compared to its standard-issue counterpart and even that of the officers, so that the wearers can fulfill missions of great danger.
Additionally, the armor sealing its wearer from the given environment also come into the wearer's favor. However, the armor is also recognizable even among the Iron Legion. Because of its unique design to enhance protection, it is very possible to pick out which soldiers are Ultranauts and which are not due to the bulkier frame of both the wearer and the armor. Yet, while recognizable enough to make the wearer more targetable, it also means that it is likely to make foes be taken with fear as well due to the design meaning to intimidate the average person.
