- Skulking Rogue: The Intruder is exceptionally swift and agile, both in and out of realspace.
- A Knife in the Dark: The Intruder mounts a diverse armament for its size, suited to engaging strike craft and larger vessels alike.
- Thin-Skinned: The Intruder is relatively lightly armored and shielded, and won't long survive heavy fire on its own.
The Intruder-Class is almost certainly the most common vessel found in Dzara pirate fleets. This ubiquity is thanks to a variety of user-friendly features, all of which are designed for the convenience of the modern pillager.
The Intruder has a sleek, dagger-shaped structure, providing a minimal profile against incoming fire. Nonetheless, this relative elegance is somewhat undermined by its common users.
Pirates are nothing if not theatrical. These vessels tend to vary in exact appearance, and most are festooned with various spikes and protrusions, war paint, and holographic images.
The Intruder's primary armaments are a pair of Chorister Phosphor-Plasma cannons, mounted at the vessel's prow in an aggressive posture. These are inarguably the ship's most potent weapons, used in devastating opening barrages that can cripple smaller vessels outright. A pair of Tarnicite Autocannons are mounted on two strange articulated arms, which jut from either side of the vessel in a manner reminiscent of scorpions or deep-sea predators. On these same protrusions are a pair of Electro-Flak Projectors, mounted on the upper section for maximum area coverage.
This armament is fairly versatile, enabling the Intruder to engage capital ships and strike craft alike. Intruders do mount an internal hangar near the center of the vessel, one typically concealed within a large hatch mechanism. Due to size constraints, these virtually never hold anything larger than Sarcophagus fighters.
The Intruder is the very picture of piratical nimbleness, able to perform maneuvers that would be the envy of many starfighter pilots, let alone most similar-sized vessels. This is fortunate, as the Intruder's primary purpose is the capture and transport of illicit cargo. To this end, it enjoys a significant storage hold relative to its size, optimized for the transport of living beings.
True to form, most of these find their way to the flesh-pits of Anoat eventually, or to other, subtler places used by the Dzara for their dark work. Of course, as slavery is forbidden within the 11th Sith Empire, Intruders seldom reenter realspace where they are likely to be engaged.
As such, these ships have a dark and complex reputation among spacers in the galaxy's more remote regions. Some say their crews never speak, others say they have no crews at all, but are manned by ghosts and evil spirits.
Such fanciful tales somewhat undermine the stark, very real horrors of the Intruder's function. What is true is this: few who enter the lightless holds of these vessels are ever seen again.
If overmatched, the Intruder can easily flee, utilizing its excellent engine speed and dimension-hopping technologies to transport itself away from danger where enemies cannot follow.
The vessel's arms and armor are suited for surprise crippling strikes on lone vessels more than protracted engagements, but nonetheless, these are among the more popular escort and picket vessels used in the Dzara. Their speed allows them to easily outrun most flankers, hit vulnerable spots on larger vessels, or chase down fighters and freighters.
