Introduction Of Padawans Numbers, Yag'dril, Blake & The Bear

(Welcome new Padawans. Please remember to keep track of all threads you do, you will need them for submission most likely when submitted for promotion later. I would also recommend you join the Silver Jedi, so I have someone to submit you to. If not, I can try to figure something out, but it will be much harder for me to)

---------------

It was rare that Master DragonsFlame took new Padawan. He'd taken his last batch what felt like ages ago, wanting to focus on their training. Their training was going well, for the most part... It was fine, he supposed to bring in new ones and expand his class. They'd do better if they had other Jedi to work with, after all, and he always wanted to encourage his Padawans to get to know one another and find allies in battle.

His new Padawans were... Interesting, but he wouldn't question their race. So he'd summoned Padawans Starwind, Dresari and Vahn to meet in the training chambers, where they would reside. Graduates [member="Gherron Vael"] and [member="Marek S'hadar"] as well as his girlfriend [member="Shmi Labooda"] had been invited to attend if they so desired to help with the first lesson. It was optional, of course... He knew people had busy schedules, so he'd left the invite and left it at that while he got to work.

With his students assembled, the current ones knowing better to show up early, he would wait for his two new students to arrive. They would find his class meditating, Josh himself in front of the class meditating with his legs cross-legged, his focus unwavering... But still able to sense all that was in the room. Every presence, every life force... Every being.

Dusaro would have arrived early as he knew better then to arrive on time, or even worse late. Bad example and all. So a reasonable time before the meeting would take place he had arrived, giving Joshua a bow before walking over and taking a seat. At first he didn't really bother to meditate but he got the feeling that Master Joshua would prefer things like that, so he shifted around into a crosslegged position and relaxed before starting to meditate.

His skin tone was an odd not quite normal pale gold, with two toned blond and silver hair. Across his face were small silver lines, small scars from shrapnel. His right hand bore a leather glove that seemed to strech up past the sleeve of his robe. His demeanour was relaxed and neutral, not imposing as his hardend features might suggest as he waited for the new padawans to arrive.

She had been summoned and wondered about it while moving through the away. The body slithering across the floor of the temple until the pearl white scales when she came into the room. Looking around as her eyes flicked back and forth. She coiled herself bringing her tail around as the few pieces of the robes she could wear were there. Gleaming in the light of the room before she saw another one who was in the room with a grin on her face as she wrapped around. Bringing her attention out and around when she stretched her arms out with her head looking down at the two who were there. "Ah is this where Master Dragonsflame is?" she was curious and had never really seen them or heard much but looked to see if anyone else was coming.

Somewhere on Chandrila, in the master bedroom of Rosedge Manor, a faint snoring could be heard quite well from down the hall. The blankets rose and fell with each breath as Gherron slept peacefully, his hair matted to the front of his face in disarray. Snuggled up to him was his wife, Nefertari. Suddenly, the most ungodly noise filled the room as Gherron was jolted awake by his holocom. Groaning in protest, the blonde rolled over and played the message he'd been sent. Though most of it was a blur, he was able to piece together that it was from Josh, and that he'd been invited to a round of training with his new students. Shutting the thing off, he tossed it to the other side of the room. "Nah", he stated simply, and went back to sleep.

Along with Dusaro, Doug had also arrived reasonably early before the newcomers were expected to show up in the training chamber. He usually was on time when requested after all. He was a little surprised to find out that there was going to be two more Padawans joining what almost seemed like a bizarre family at this point. It had almost felt like an eternity since he had left the giant ball of desert he called a home behind to train as a Jedi as well as meeting with Anora, Dusaro, and some of the others he had interacted with in this journey. No more coarse and rough and irritating sand that gets everywhere too.

A bit of time after he had arrived and went through the greeting motions, he had taken to sitting down cross-legged much like his Master was doing. It was something Doug had tended to do even before he started his Jedi training so the sitting position wasn't unfamiliar to him. Before long, he had entered a sort of meditative state much like his Master was doing.

The meditation felt a bit odd, yet relaxing to him. A clear mindset for a new meeting. He could almost sense the room around him. It was fuzzy, but it was a feeling nonetheless. He stuck to this position and mindset and simply waited. He was feeling a bit antsy, admittedly, but he kept a cool head.

She had her datapad, pacing back in forth in the distance. She came for a little while to observe and help briefly if she could. She'd have to return to Exis soon as she'd been pushing things off for too long. Well Josh had been taking on more students, it was funny because Shmi never successfully trained a Padawan to Knighthood...she always had to transfer them to other Masters as her work had her stationed far out most times; the situations much to dangerous for apprentices.

She'd met [member="Dusaro Dresari"] and [member="Douglas Starwind"] very briefly when the ORDF started, but it's been awhile since she'd seen them and Josh hadn't spoken about their progress much.

She pretty much stayed off to the side for the moment until she was needed, if she was needed. As she read she ran her free hand through the length of her hair to remove whatever strands blocked her field of vision.

She thought to herself, "I should really catch up with Coci...I wonder how she is?"

Sigh.

"It'll probably have to be in a few weeks...I have an assignment coming up."

She then reverted her attention to the training session. She removed herself from the datapad and stood with her arms folded over each other and a slant in her stance.

His eyes opened.

His legs would unfold, and the Jedi Master would stretch a moment before getting to his feet. Calm... Calm, composed, stoicism spread across his face as he would survey his two new students. One was some kind of snake... The other? He wasn't sure, but he was having a harder time sensing her presence. Almost as though she were a droid, but still had that faint flicker of force sensitivity... Maybe she just hadn't trained it much yet? Or something else. He wasn't sure.

His Padawans had shown up, and while his former Padawan [member="Gherron Vael"] was too busy pretending he still wasn't heartbroken because a ghostling picked a woman over him, he was happy they had. They, and Shmi as well. They would be keeping this session short, as Shmi would be heading back soon, and Josh would be joining her soon after (Oh pfft, who am I kidding, they're flying back together anyway, he can take all the time he likes, but let's be dramatic). That was their deal after all... After each mission, or work, they always headed home. That was the terms of their new stance on their careers, he was going to follow it. They both had missions coming up too... He wanted to be sure to spend time with Shmi as much as he could before they both went off on their separate missions.

But for now, this was about the Padawans. After sizing them up, he would take a breath... And then speak.

"I want you both to know that training with me will not be easy. But I will guarantee you that when you are done training with me... You will be Jedi Knights" He spoke calmly, but also firmly. A commanding tone, that of a leader... But without emotion, without bias in his voice. Stoic, calm, collected... He was a different man when he was a teacher, Shmi would begin to realize as she watched. This was Josh on business. The business that involved training the future of the Jedi.

"With me are my Padawans... Who aside from Anora who seems to be missing, again... Who have arrived before you to meditate because they know how important their meditation and balance is. You will learn the same, given time. To the left is Master Labooda, who has agreed to help oversee, and assist with your training for this session.

Look around at your fellow Padawans. They will be your brothers and sisters, and they will be who will be with you on your missions during your time under me. Learn to work with them well... And you will learn to work with any Jedi you are paired with in future."

He would scan the two Padawans one last time.

"Tell me, you two... What are your names?"

The girl listened as the man spoke. He was calm, collected, and had a sense of patience around him. She understood that the Jedi were not slave masters, but the girl couldn't help being wary.

She jolted when the Jedi asked for her name. "#24061, Master."

Oh, Anora wasn't missing. Sure, there was a prolonged period of time where the brunette had gone MIA, but right now? Oh no, she was there, and she had made sure to be early lest she get herself into trouble. She was however quiet, and had been since her arrival. She had easily taken her cue from their Master and sank into a comfortable seated position before allowing herself to slip into a meditative state. Perhaps that was why she was easy to miss; too silent. Or perhaps because she had been away for so long, she was easy to look over and not really be taken notice of. Whatever the case may be, she was present and accounted for - finally.

She was looking at the ones who were here now, another arrived and the jedi master who was bringing all of them here. She tilted her head swaying around with some more interest on her face. "Name." She was curious about it and then realied it when she spoke her tongue coming out with a screech and sound coming from her throat. It was scratchy for the ears when she stopped. "Though human's chose something else for me." She was uncertain about ti and tried to remember what it was. "Ah I forgot what it was they said." She was looking around at wheat she had in the compartments. "They gave me a card to access the computers with a name on it in case I needed it."

One didn't know their name, and the other apparently stated.... Numbers? Also one was missing. Probably late, he didn't seem to know his way around Voss yet, so he'd excuse him.

But he would stare at the two Padawans after that, trying to process all of this, and then shrugged his shoulders in turn. Oh right, they'd given him a list for names, hadn't they? He just hadn't read it as he figured the Padawans would give it themselves. Reaching over and grabbing the clipboard he had tossed to the side earlier, he would begin reading off.

"Okay..." He began as he would look toward the snake Padawan. "You're apparently... Yag'dril. Okay, fair enough" He remarked as he would look toward the other girl. "And you're uh..."

#24061

"... You're actually numbers" He would remark, dumbfounded as he stared at the paper. "... Know what, I'm not going to say that code name everytime I address you. I'm officially nicknaming you... Numbers" Josh would add, before looking around the room and noting the presence of [member="Anora Vahn"].

"How nice of you to join us, Padawan Vahn" Josh would add, a small smirk crossing his lips. "Alright, so, Padawans Starwind, Dusari, Vahn, Yag'dril and Numbers are here. Padawan [member="Calder Icehammer"] is late, but he doesn't know his way around yet, so he's excused.

For now... Padawans Dresari, Starwind, Vahn... Master Labooda, you mind if I let the two newbies take the floor for a moment?" He would ask them. "I'd like to teach the both of them a small lesson about the Force before we move on to class."

He then turned toward Shmi. "Master Labooda, once I'm finished with that, would you care to take the floor? I'm sure you have plenty you could teach, I'd be happy to let you take the wheel for a bit. I do enjoy having my Padawans learn from a variety of sources and different styles, which is why I asked you to come."

With that, he gave a light smile toward her, the first time he had smiled since the seminar had started. In truth, they'd just both happened to be here to check in with the Silvers, and Josh had scheduled a class around the same time. Sure, they -said- Shmi's time was short... But to be truthful, they were both taking the same flight home anyway. They lived together for Force sakes. He was in business mode while he gave the class, of course, so he tried not to bring too much attention to the fact that he and Master Labooda were an item during them.

"Now..." He began as he would turn back to the two new Padawans. "I'm sure what little you know of the Jedi is that we're warriors who fight with glowsticks, right? This first lesson will be a quick and easy one."

He would crack his neck.

"As you are both new... I want you to both come at me at the same time, unarmed or with any melee weapon you may have at your disposal. I will fight unarmed. In this, I will show you what the Jedi are all about."

He would motion for them to come at him.

(Going to roll a short posting order between myself and the two new Padawans [member="#24061"] and [member="Yag'dril"] for a short span before we advance to the next part of the class, if that's alright with you all. Everyone else is free to provide what posts they like without need for a posting order in the meantime. This'll give three of you time to focus on your mission :p )

She was looking at them, staying with it the master as he was speaking so she would be able to try and see something else. She had met the jedi, it was how she was on a planet on the other side of the galaxy learnign things from them. Aside from some of the smaller being she had seem most of the human's were strange..... then he wanted her to attack him as she looked to the smaller girl who seemed uncertain... then to the smaller room when she was uncoiing her body to stretch out and have the full length of her body weaving around on the floor when she was finding resistance in some places. "This floor is not very clean." She stayed there for a moment adjusting her fingers so the small claws were not as much of a risk before she was looking ddown at Numbers.... Humans were weird for names. "I don't think we're actually supposed to harm him."

"This is not a test that requires a skill level of any sort. This is a learning experience... Nothing more. Come at me, even if you have to wing it" He would instruct firmly toward both [member="Yag'dril"] and Numbers, his eyes suddenly growing fierce as they would bore into them, almost as though he was staring a hole into their very skulls... He was serious, and didn't look very happy.

"If you hesitate in battle, then you will face defeat very quickly. Only hesitate when you know something is wrong... This is not wrong, this is merely a sparring match.

I will not be harmed... I promise."

[member="#24061"]

Nervous, Numbers did he best to attack him. She remembered what she saw at the gladiator games and did her best to mimic those warriors. After several minutes, she lay on the ground, shaking.

She lowered her head in a sign of respect, this was his session and if he wished for the floor she would allow him to have it. She moved to the side with the others, and stood there with her arms folded over one another. Observing the one he would come to name numbers, well Shmi could tell off bat that she was quite timid. That's where most of her attention had went, she'd want to see how the girl would handle this situation. Albeit, she couldn't help it much; Shmi was just naturally attuned to those around her, it so second nature unless she actively suppressed it. All in all he had a round bunch here, and she was interested in how he'd approach their development.

He turned to her, and her attention was averted for the moment. Well, he offered the opportunity to throw in a few things. Essentially, that's why she was here. She nodded, and returned his smile with one of her own.

"Sure, I wouldn't mind at all Master DragonsFlame."

The temple was a rather large place. Calder stepped through it's halls, his head on a constant swivel as he looked over the architect. Tall hallways, taller than even he, a ten foot bear, needed. It was welcome. Though part of him wondered what species would need such tall ceilings to begin with. Not that he hoped to find out. But, he was late. As he wandered the halls, trying to figure out where he was to do, he found himself lost in such a big building.

"Well. Soon enough I'll get there. I hope I'm not too needed."
