Madlad automatically starts the defensive as the nightstalkers find them. Madlad doesn't have built in flashbangs, but it has the ability to change the color of it's singular camera esque eye. Thus, it changes the eye color to a bright white, and then back to dark red, over and over to serve as a makeshift flashbang right into their eyes as it opens fire with it's 8-M slugthrower, aiming for the body and neck. One shot to the neck from the droid's extremely accurate aim would be enough to completely sever the head from that body due to the thin neck basically being destroyed by an 8 gauge shell. Madlad would do this while always making sure to position itself between the enemy, and the medic it's supposed to guard.

Talohn takes up the same strategy as his droid companion, putting himself in between the beasts and the demolitionist as they make their way to the hill. With the way those heads move, Talohn's TDW has no chance of making direct head impact, thus he aims for the lower body and the legs in order to slow down the enemy. Once the enemy is slowed by getting shot in the legs, he would finish it off with shots to the body. They may have blaster resistant skin, but live rounds are likely to pierce their skin easier. For any enemies that happen to get too close for comfort, Talohn will pull out The Mule from his back hip, and open fire, the spread at that range likely making a shot to the viper beast's neck unmissable, and likely to be devastating due to the beast of a sawn off shotgun being loaded with literal grape shot rounds. Both Talohn and Madlad follow to the hill, bute they do follow a bit slower to protect the important people they are supposed to keep alive.

Trudging through this landscape proved to be a challenge. If it wasn't roots from trees, or grabby vines and plants, it was bones. Bones? What the hell had happened here that the jungle floor had become its own open grave? Occasionally Hinah would pause to observe the remains, not checking the bones per sey, but to see if there was anything else littered about around them. Never would she linger enough to fall behind the others, but the bodies out here couldn't have all died without leaving something behind, right?

Not that there was time to fully investigate anything.

The sound of howls ripped through the already semi-tense air, and the creatures that took flight caused Hinah to pivot. "Oh that can't be good..." she let out, much more quietly than any of them had been speaking before hand. Sure enough, the lot of them were not alone, and this fact caused Hinah to curse loudly before she turned about and started following the others towards the hill. Well, now all of the bones made sense. Surprisingly, she kept her footing as she trailed along, though that was perhaps due to her concentration on what she was doing on hand.

Being towards the back of the group had both advantages as well as disadvantages, and right now she was focusing on the former. With the others shooting the ever drawing nearer creatures in the darkness, Hinah was quickly working one of her blast charges together. She didn't normally carry them fully assembled due to her natural clumsy nature - she was clumsy, not stupid - and it only took some quick hand work to get them ready to toss and blow. And when the group got to the hill, it seemed she wasn't the only one who was keen on blowing these things to hell. One of the others had detonators, and that would work just as well.

"Everyone get as clear as you can!" she called out to the group, and then tossed the charge towards the group of approaching wanting-to-eat-them things. The blast created wasn't huge of course, but it definitely had impact that would hopefully either take one or two of the beasties out, or at least knock them back and cause some hesitation in their approach.

The Maalraas snarled in anticipation and anger as their hunt was met, unexpectedly, by the heat and fire from the blasters of the Mandalorians. The lead made to move for the Gamorrean, the stout species giving off an appetizing scent. The Maalraas lept from a rock, aiming to pounce on the Mandalorian, but a bolt from Kes luckily slammed squarely into the creature's chest, sending it reeling back with a piercing scream.

The droid Madlad and its human companion, Talohn, were efficient in their fight against the Maalraas as their companions retreated to the relative safety of the hill. As expected, the droid's slugthrower punched easily through the hides of one of the Nighthunters, which gurgled a cry before slumping to the ground, silent. Another Maalraas fell back as one of Talohn's rounds took it in the shoulder, reducing the beast to a limp. Two more were tossed aside by a charge from Hinah, but yet still more came.

As the Mandalorians reached the top of the hill, hidden partially was an entrance to a network of tunnels that ran through the perimeter of the compound towards the base itself. It was by luck that this hill was the entrance to one, but if the warriors were clever enough, they would be able to spot it out and deduce that its size was too small for the Maalraas to follow -- almost as if it had been designed for that purpose.

But, with the Nighthunters closing in, they wouldn't have much time to make a decision.

Objective: Tactically withdraw and convince others to do so.

The pig like being would make a loud snort after spotting the entrance to the center, it looks like they would have to make a last stand yet. The swine voice "Squeak squeak Looks like we dont need to fight these sodding fracks! Squeak Squeak We will have plenty of chances to likely kill chiet inside." . While speaking, the gamorean was interrupted by a lunging predator coming at the the warrior. While in mid air a sniper seemed to have shot the beast in real time, stopping it in it's tracks. Then the T-visor saw their explosive's expert make headway against these predator's coming for them. The group was fighting hard and like a team, the one that surprised the rallymaster the most was the "clumsy one". Despite her admitted misgiving's with her footing, she did fight with courage. Looking about in the distance he also saw that their medic Gaia was also making headway to the hill, it seemed the plan was working well. The s

"Sniper teams, hoink hoink lets get inside we will repay you the sodding favor. Lets karking hold the entrance till they get here, squeak squeak no mandalorian left behind!" . With his beskad he would strike downwards at the first creature attempting to close in on the now arriving Gaia. As a stalwart figure, he would defend her with resilience and fervor. In a defensive stance, the boar would do his best to defend the position so the others could first get inside. Armored, the crusader would gesture for Gaia to get inside first , in the eyes of the mandalorian, she took priority first. More of these creatures however kept coming, and it wouldn't help the enclave if these mandalorians were devoured in the pitch dark never to be found again. As veteran he would do his best to help the youngsters survive, like Gaia and what not.

As soon as the others got inside, the short and stalky figure would likely have leap inside as to not become raw gamorean to this attacking pack.

The nighthunters were never ending it seemed, her sabers sliced right through their hides and felled them yet it seemed two would take its place each time. She made sure to keep pace with the group ad she ducked under a swipe and slammed her blade through a chest of one and turned back as she nodded to torrack and began to slowly keep with him as she fended off any that got near

do hurry! These things seems to know we're exiting where they can fight

Gaia was mostly smashed between the group as the others began to rip them apart. It was clear they didn't have much time, and she knew that all too well. She couldn't heal everyone right away, so if multiple people got seriously injured... She gulped, aiming her blaster at one of the beasts and firing off towards it.

She glanced to Torrack and nodded, jumping into the maze as she moved forward, pointing her weapon forward. What a way to the start of their little adventure... She took a deep breath, turning around once she knew it was relatively safe and anxiously awaited for the others to arrive.

The droid's intimidating voice calls through the night of the jungle. "Demolitionist, follow the medic to safety! We will hold the line. You cannot be risked. Your talents are important!" Once Hinah flees past Talohn and the Madlad, the droid dashes over by torrack to help him hold the line. While the gamorrean cuts down the beasts, the droid fires that shotgun at any who try to flank them, it's immense 8 guage power likely blasting them to pieces.

Meanwhile, Talohn, TDW in hand, stands alongside Torrack as well, the rapid fire slugthrower lighting up the darkness of the jungle as beasts fall limp and bullet casings cover the jungle's floor. Torrack naturally takes down any that get too close with that blade, Madlad is shooting any that try to flank them with it's shotgun, and Talohn shoots at the ones closing in that are further away. Together, they're likely able to thin out the horde quite decently. When needing to reload, Talohn will momentarily hide behind Torrack to put in a new magazine before stepping back out to keep firing.

Talohn soeaks loudly above the blaster and gunfire. "We cannot hold this for long! Here's the plan, we back up as we fire to keep them from closing in, and we should naturally be able to back up into the base. Alternative option, Madlad can likely outrun these things without even trying. We run for it, and Madlad will follow us! Besides, they'll try to take one bite of him and hate it. They have no interest in durasteel. You got that Madlad?"

"Loud and clear!" The droid responds, taking a moment to step behind torrack and reload it's shotgun with more shells. While Madlad is reloading, Talohn fires at any beasts trying to flank Torrack. Once the droid is reloaded, they go back to the regular formation they were in before. A well oiled machine.

Kes was on one knee firing away at the creatures in silence, all he felt was the recoil of his rifle. He was already halfway through his grenades as well so he stopped throwing in favour of using them later. As the others schemed a plan up and shared it Kes simply nodded and began slowly withdrawing as he fired his rifle. Kes fancied the idea of staying alive for the immediate future and the tunnels seemed to guarantee that.

As he backed further he patted Torack Australis Torack Australis shoulder before saying "Moving inside." Lowering his sniper rifle Kes then slipped through the entrance. Once inside he activated his Night Vision Unit via his Omnilink and moved past Gaia Sunaris Cadera Gaia Sunaris Cadera taking up a position ahead of her, towards where the tunnel leads. He had stowed his H.T.E Sniper Rifle on his back in favour of his WESTAR Blaster Carbine which was now aimed away from the entrance. He remained there unflinching solely focused on the tunnel ahead. He opened the comms channel to those outside and spoke. "Tunnel seems clear. Hope you all brought something to see in the dark."

Retreat. Was it really a retreat when it could lead to tactical advantage? Well...maybe so, if the lot of them ran away and into a place with no exit but the way they ran inside. What good would it do them to fall back if they ended up trapped regardless? Still, the idea of not having her back exposed sounded good to Hinah, so when she was told to get moving? She only hesitated long enough to curse loudly before she turned and made her way after Gaia. While the other female kept her focus forward, Hinah kept an eye on their rear so that they didn't end up attacked from behind. Luckily nothing came along and it was little effort for the pair to end up where they were supposed to be.

"This treasure better be worth it." Hinah nearly growled the words out, eyes on the entrance, ready to draw and fire in a moment's notice if the need arose before the others could catch up to them. "And I mean life changing worth it." she added in a huff, her breaths a little heavy as she worked to collect them from the run between their last stand, and here.

It was now a race, and if the Maalraas made it to the tunnel first, it would likely mean the end for the Mandalorians. But, if the Mandalorians were able to make it first, then perhaps they wouldn't be the Nighthunter's next meal.

Once inside the cavern, the tunnel, the safe-hole, whatever one preferred to call it, they would find -- as Kes had done -- that millions of years of abandonment did not do wonders for electrical systems. Safe to say, anything that wasn't built to last or hold a charge was long gone.

But, fortunately, Mandalorians weren't stupid. Power outages were common, especially in such a forsaken world such as Dxun. As such, signs and directions had been painted on the walls of the tunnels with a special reflecting coating -- even the most primitive glowrod would be able to light up the directions.

If the Mandalorians would be paying attention, they'd see a bright-orange line highlighting the way directly to a place called: the Armory.

Jackpot.

Talohn and Torrack fought well together, the strategy which the member of Clan Atar spoke of was a good strategy. Whilst slaying yet another one, the warrior was patted on the shoulder by the mysterious sniper. After acknowledging that everyone had made it inside the gamorean responded to both Mad Lad and Talohn, "hoink hoink On a count of three we book it faster then a Hutt holds onto his money, squeak squeak!" . Before the fantic beskad wielder could count however, one of those damned things came at Talohn while he was reloading. Fighting aside such a brave mandalorian who stood with the rallymaster was a privilege, no way would he let him be harmed while he covered the porkers flank. Striking with wrath and fervor and using the breathing technique his mentor had taught, he would attempt to strike the lunging beast down with stifling power. Should this attack be successful he would then immediately count. "One.... squeak" , a breath would be taken as the body began to prepare to book it, "Two.... squeak", another creature came and interrupted the count down before also being slain. "Three... squeak squeak RUN!" , turning around the beskargam cladded individual ran hoping the other two would follow him. While slower then the others, with enough preparation, hopefully the sturdy being would make it to the glowing tunnel, to safety.

Should the crude figure arrive, he would stop in his tracks to look at the noticeably glowing symbols on the wall. Was that, was that directions to the armory? Speaking on the comms of his bucye he would patch in to the mysterious sniper, as well as other ahead of them "You seeing this? Hoink hoink Follow the symbols on the tunnel walls, and do save us a spot in the armory. HOINK HOINK HOINK" . Despite just escaping these fiends temporarily , the swine warrior managed to chuckle in the sound of loud hoinks. However, working together, this group managed to survive and fend off the wilds of Dxun thus far. However things were much more quite in the tunnels and this seemed too easy. Power may be dead, but it is not characteristic of mandalorian compounds not to have a few traps. "Remember, squeak squeak we mandalorians always have security in mind when building compounds, hoink hoink look at for traps. Out squeak squeak" . Meanwhile the imposing being would also trudge carefully, there was no point in in getting killed when they were so close to completing this mission for the Enclave. Peering ever so carefully , the eyes of Torrack would carefully trudge about and closely look around for any details of a trap.

When the time came to run, Talohn and Madlad employed quite the interesting strategy. Talohn passed the droid his TDW, and booked it. What Madlad proceeded to do only cemented that this droid was possibly one of the scariest units ever made. "Initiating overclock." It booms out, it's lower body rotating so that the legs are facing backwards. It's white glowing eye turns red afterwards as well, those internal systems working to target the weak spot of every enemy at once as it takes off running behind Talohn and Torrack, it's torso still facing the charging enemy as it opens fire, yelling various profanities not to be repeated. Shells scatter on the ground and shots echo throughout the jungle as that shotgun and assault rifle fire at any enemy daring to chase them, each weapon held under the droid's arms.

With Madlad's crusade of madness, both Torrack and Talohn make it safely into the bunker, Madlad stepping in behind them soon after. The droid spins it's torso to once again be properly aligned, and tosses Talohn the TDW, now done with it. "Nice work." Talohn states after catching the rifle. They both proceed to share a high five, the droid chuckling slightly. "Haven't gotten to do that in a while. It's as exhilarating as usual."

Talohn looks to the rest, looking concerned. "How's everyone else holding up? You doing ok, my new Gamorrean friend?" He questions. He loads a new mag into his rifle, and makes his way to the front of the group, droid beside him as they step cover the front of the group, weapons once again ready to fire.
