Insights to the invisible [Syn]

Curiosity fuelled the cat.
I say fuelled, because Kiskla had yet to die; she was only continuously motivated by her inquisitive nature and challenging perception that vied for her to know more and more.
As a Knight, she had been satisfied with knowing enough to save her own skin, but now, she w wanted more. Her interests had blossomed beyond caring just for herself; she cared about how to protect the masses. And how to manipulate them.

On Ossus, fellow Councillor Master @[member="Syn"] had intervened her duel with Lord Ashmedei and had provided her protection so she could focus on purging darkness from the planet's nexus. This protection had been powerful, and had made them invisible to the sight of oppressors and comrades alike. Kiskla, being a warrior of the Force rather than the blade, and a growing mentalist, was intrigued by the power; it had touched elements of the Force she hadn't felt before. So, she'd reached out to her fellow councillor that had provided her protection and requested he meet her in the gardens of Tython; a place thriving with energy and pulsating with the light side despite the planet's rocky history.

The blonde woman donned her Ossus robes, as she felt it was fitting for the occasion, and could feel the slight resistance of the blades of grass against the hem of the fabric as she walked. Around her, the flora and fauna budded to life, and in the distance she could hear some vigilant Padawans training together, their hoarse shouts mirthful and pleasant; only with slight airs of challenge. It was unfortunate that such a peaceful Order was turning to war so swiftly and so often; but as a trained Guardian, Kiskla had few qualms.

He had been curious and in this case the jedi master was a cat, kind of in truth all he really got was some slightly longer claws sharp teeth and most of all a very good sense of balance. Now he was letting his curiosity come with the sight of the councilor on the edge of his senses, something strange and he didn't need to wear all of his gear here. The heavy armored robes over armor and armorweave were gone leaving him slightly muscled and looking every bit a teenager. His sash over his eyes and he stopped sitting on one of the railings. The trip in from the desert was quite a fun trip to say the least since now there was less burden on him. The small temple they had created under the sands a powerful place and secure from most.

"Ah councilor Grayson." With a grin Syn dropped down landing on his feet from the second story and standing up as he straightened his robes. A look on his face while he walked was more humor then neutrality from meeting or even combat. There was much going on but all he really wondered about now was what she had requested him for. A small laugh. "You wanted to see me."

Kiskla turned as @[member="Syn"]'s voice broke the immediate silence around her. She nodded in response to his statement, and afforded him a small bow in salutations from her waist.
"Yes, firstly, I wanted to thank you for Ossus." She left it at that, pride was still a factor in her decision making abilities, and she wasn't fully able to admit that she'd needed protection; much less received it. But she was truly thankful for his keen recognition of her plight, and seeing that he needed to step in.

"Secondly, I wanted to know just what you did. And..how?"

She wanted to know what he had used at Ossus? There was a few things he had done at Ossus but the white current had been used as the jedi master thought about how to explain it. He had worked hard to learn it and was still learning how to truly use it. "On Ossus much happened but if your referring to when we fought that sith lord. That was the white surrent something I learned to combat several dangerous forces in the galaxy."

Kiskla nodded, relieved that he knew the implications of her questions.

"Well, thank you for using it to protect me." She folded her arms as she began to walk, encouraging her fellow councillor to fall into step with her. "Although, I'd like to know how to protect myself in future, and others as you did. Do you think your power is something you could teach me?"

"I've read about something similar, I think. Something used by the Fallanassi."

"It is a Fallanassi skill and it took me a great many ships to learn. My teacher was not the nicest person, though that was by my own choosing and because when learning something many have abused in the past you shouldn't take it lightly. This is not a skill many can use without concentration and focus. Determination with a sense to not use it for the easy path and believe me it has been tempting. I understand what Je'gan might have went through. The ability to move silently and never be detected like a ghost and no one is able to stop you. A tempting ability that many would use for wicked things."

The jedi master remained very comfortable though while walking and clasped his hands behind his back while thinking how best to really get into this. He wasn't opposed to teaching it was just... It was just this was something not many were supposed to do but he had seen it being abused and becoming a be all end all for trying to get out and away with things. An annoyance to be sure and something he had sought at the time to stop finding a good way to handle the rise of current users. An epidemic that was going on but was now contained a little it seemed. Her still had plenty to do with Kiskla though and training her in it would be a test of sorts.

"I can teach you a little, there are many things that can be done but I only know a very specific set of them."

@[member="Syn"]

A grin broke the attractive surface of the Jedi Master. "I would really appreciate that, and I'm sure you'll find I learn quickly." Something Antares Marclonus, her first Master, had been fond of. She was an absorber of knowledge, and since she was a mentalist, she was also a quick thinker; and able to analyze and dissect rapidly.

Knowledge was a pillar of The Jedi, and Kiskla was finally realizing that the pursuit to know never ended. Even had masterhood.

"How would you like to begin?"

"We have already begun." The jedi master moved finding with the force an area to sit while his fingers focused. The white current was like a river and you didn't actually control it just moved with it. Went into it and the immersion masked his force presence as he dipped deeper into it, to let the illusions be marked on his fingers and trace an image... Not really an image more lines on the stone in one place but he did it several times only scribing once. Only making one have a rune on it that was invisible to most. Kiskla was and might be a fast learner but sensing the rune was more about perception and thought. Like finding the world in a grain of sand. You needed to let the time immerse you. "Alright now, focus and look on the stone, your searching for the rune and it will take focus. All illusion is based on the imperfections even the greatest have them. You'll need to train and strain your senses to pick up on them."

Kiskla nodded, still appreciative at the Councillor's willingness to impart such a guarded knowledge. She followed his lead, and folded her own long legs to take a seat adjacent to him, facing the canvas he had painted. True, to the naked eye it looked like a rock. Just a rock.
Kiskla was a master of Beyond Shadows, and time could be just as relative as they were. Train her senses to pick up on them? He probably should have told her just how, but she went with it.

Being a rock, it was very solid. A network of tightly knit connections that twisted around each other like a fortified ball of yarn. The Force ebbed through her, wrapping up her senses and reminding her not to look with just the naked eye, but with so much more. She moved from it's internal structure, to it's outer one. As she did so, she felt a current; like a ripple in the Force that never ceased. Her brow quirked.

"How?" She finally asked, not sure exactly how to move forward without relying on her typical senses that the Force enhanced.

He was working how to explain it, the current was a thing to explain he found strange. It was becoming one with the background noise and the he was showing her how to see it. Then he would have to show her how to go into it. "It is hard to explain for one with physical sight, for me it was as simple as learning to focus on my senses with the force, to peel back a layer. This is something that takes days to gain the focus of, you are not concealing your presence with the force. You are stepping into the background noise of it, letting the current hide you while being able to see the invisible. The masters of it can make illusions so real a person can't tell the difference but I do not know all of those skills. To the task of seeing though that is how you know if your able to sense and use the current. Take as much time and focus as you need as it ins't something that just comes. Has to arrive through meditation and preparedness."

She inhaled deeply, understanding what it was @[member="Syn"] was instructing. It was similar to concealing her presence; blending in. She felt the natural current of The Force, of Tython's energy, of it's natural flora and fauna. She felt Syn's force presence relative to her own, and she saw the rock.
The damned rock.
She saw it for what it was in The Force, she felt it for what it was; but that was the basic. Syn had said to peel back the layers. For a moment, she focused so intently she forgot to breathe. But, every so surely, vague-- almost transparent - lines appeared before her. She remained focused, before reading the rune out loud; even if it was something Syn had just doodled it did mean something.

And it was now something she could see.

Now what?

The jedi master gave a nod of his head, she was able to see it and feel it. That was good, that meant she could be taught while he remained there. "Now you need to remember that feeling, that state you are in until it gets easier to feel and use. Then you'll be able to use it to see the basics, see the flaws in others cloaks." Then he was moving and standing near her again just enough not to be in personal space. "The other techniques will come but sensing is fundamental you'll be able to feel other users of it, find the flaws in most illusions and see ones hidden from others. It is how you will understand to create illusions and conceal yourself with others so perfectly from sight, sound and the senses of the force."

"Similar to how you projected the protective illusion on Ossus." Kiskla commented, still deciphering the rune and letting the ebb and flow of the current wash over her like a stone nestled in a brook.
"Can I project other illusions? And convince others of an alternate reality?"

"In time yes with practice but such a feat eludes me, the illusion is created by your perceptions and I do not see the world like the rest of you. It would be strange an illusion from myself but cloaking your body, concealing yourself from the force and others view is something i know how to do. Some people who do this can make illusions so real of sickness or plague it spreads mass fear. We will work on concealing you but much like everything it will take time and be prepared. I traveled across all of Tython with my teacher to find a sense of balance and peace. So that I could practice and learn the patience to use the skills. If you believe you are up to it that is where we should start."

A sharp breath whistled through her lips.
"Perhaps we can work together to further both of our knowledge." Kiskla had made illusions before, but it was a covetous process of mental persuasion; like an escalated mind trick as well as altering the state around the viewer. It was complicated and tiresome, and she had a feeling the Fallanassi had an easier way to project.

"If it suits you," Kiskla broke her concentration within the current and blinked a few times as the colours of Tython danced in her vision "I wouldn't mind starting now.

No time like the present."

The jedi master liked the idea of learning more about the current and practicing with Kiskla, more so because in truth he would have wanted to use illusions but for him objects were not as important as the sense from the force or his senses. His other senses it was why he moved now and brushed himself off. "Then we shall go now, the trek will not be easy but we have time. There are plenty of creatures though you might encounter and I recommend packing thoroughly Master Grayson." He would have to pack as well though this being the second time he did know a few things to bring around and have at the ready.

"I'll meet you back here in an hour."

Her first master had taught her to pack lightly. She had spent much of her youth, either with bounty hunters or her Jedi Master, travelling. Therefore, the young blonde was a proficient packer of the essentials. A tiny pack now clung to her shoulders, and a utility belt slung from her hips.

As per her responsibilities, she'd sent a correspondence to her Padawan, Antares Windu suggesting he reach out to other masters for the next few days as she'd be unavailable.

Tython's landscape had gone regrettably unexplored by the mistress of The Force. She was excited to peruse it's landscape with one that had already covered it, while diving into the depths of The Fallanassi's teachings.
To be covered, Kiskla also sent a message to Master @[member="Phylis Alince"] requesting that she forward select articles on the Fallanassi illusions to Kiskla's personal datapad for compact transportation of the information. She didn't doubt Syn's teachings, but she wanted to be able to contribute to the learning as well-- and Kiskla was a wonderful learner. Even from records she was able to teach herself a mass of things; without having to see the power evidenced firsthand.

On top of her nutritional supplements, Kiskla was armed with her usual weapons. Two lightsabers strapped to her thighs, with two more clipped behind her lower back. The ones on her thighs were secondary resources; they had been trophies from miscellaneous duels. These weapons a he rarely travelled without and needn't rely on much else to conquer the beasts @[member="Syn"] had spoken of.

Her timing was impeccable, and she was back in Tython's courtyards. A transport had been prepared for the two master's journey; but she didn't know if Syn preferred foot or hover. She was sure she'd find out momentarily.

Syn preferred walking only because it allowed for focus and he moved having his utility belt and a small pack. No more then he usually brought aside from the laminarium undersuit for protection. He had gotten it made by Sasori and worked to get it but the light armor mirrored more the ancient expeditionary suits while he stood there with the armorweave robes over it. Enough to protect and not obscure his face yet just a normal sash. The saber two on his hips in the front, two on his thighs and one at the small of his back. Trophies from old time while his first saber was up his sleeve just gleaming black metal hilt and electrum decoration. He brished his robe off for a moment and moved clasping his hands behind his back for a moment while standing there.

"Well then shall we be off, the trip will take time and practice." He had a wider grin on his face, having done with with Iella and one or two of his padawans, finding ways to teach them patience and balance while on Tython. It worked for the most part. He at least hoped it had for Vix and Iella. Then with that though he was walking off before towards the mountains to start the trip to the temples.

It took them short of an hour to arrive at their inaugural contingency. Ah, the mountains. A good place to start. The last time she'd hiked their marvellous face was with her Padawan, Kei Amadis. He'd left the Jedi shortly after, feeling he was too much of a soldier and had instigated the Army of Light.
If only he'd had patience.

So, Kiskla and @[member="Syn"] began their escalade. While she walked, Kiskla exercised her new knowledge; sensing the ebb and flow of what Syn had called The White Current. She was getting the hang of it, and as they moved onward, she could feel it licking around her like flames, twisting about her natural Force essence. Good!

"So you've done this before," Kiskla spoke, sensing his shadow in The Current too. "How was it."

"Yes I have. A few times actually a few times to center myself." He didn't deny the need to center and recenter ones self. This whole thing had proven taxing even to him and now as he walked and relished the clean air and relaxing time he had. Now he was walking towards the closest temple at the forge to begin and have them both ready. "I have even given this to my padawans as a task when they are able to, too much aggressive tendencies in some of them, much like me but they are young and can grow out of it. It takes me more meditation then I care to admit to find peace in times of war, hopefully that will not last forever. I don't want to get wrinkles I have heard they are unsightly."
