Hi all, to those who don't know me, I write for

and a couple of others.
I am writing because I feel I owe those who I write with explanation for my complete lack of activity on this site these last few months, and I wanted to formally apologise to those I was threading with.
Darth Virelia
specifically comes to mind, as we were collaborating on several threads together before I fell off. I also want to apologise to my fellow Dathomirian witches - I had a lot of fun in our big faction thread.
Up until a few months ago, I was honestly truly passionate about the stories and narratives me and others created through our roleplay here together. Its safe to say I made some great friends, and met so many talented writers who I still admire just as much as I did when I first joined the site. All of your characters are extremely compelling and I was privileged to take part in the storylines you created. I spent a lot of time and effort trying to match the high standard you all set, rp ended up being one of the first things I did every morning for a decent part of the year. I spent ages perfecting my writing, developing lore for a now abandoned codex post, and I even spent over a hundred hours creating art for my character's avatars. However, I know those are rookie hours compared to most of you - I'm not trying to compare in any way. I am informing you of this because I want you to know that I really did care about Chaos.
However, ever since this site issued it's pro AI stance, I have lost any and all motivation to continue to sink my energy, time and efforts into SWRP-Chaos.
Now, I want to make it clear that I mean no harm nor do I feel any hate towards AI users. I am not trying to police your access to technology or how you use it.
Also, I am not naive, I am aware that AI, specifically AI image generation, existed on chaos before

made an official post supporting it. The fact is, the post was what put the final nail in the coffin, as the constant presence of artificially generated images was already beginning to take a toll on my motivation.
Finally, I want to make it clear that I am not here to preach an anti ai sermon. That is not the point of this post.
The point of this post is to provide an apology and an explanation to the rp partners I am leaving behind. I hold no ill intent towards anyone, I simply hope to explain why I am throwing in the towel. I want to part with everyone on good terms, and I wish all of you on this site nothing but the best and I hope that you continue to have fun rping in whichever way you see fit.
So, please don't use this post to try and argue with me about my personal views on ai. Everyone is shaped by their own morals, beliefs and experiences and I think we can respect each other and agree to disagree without starting a war in the comments. As for whether I might ever return, I will if the stance on ai changes, if not, I won't. Which does suck, for everyone involved. Unfortunately, as an artist, I cannot continue to be inspired in an environment that actively supports something I am so deeply against.
But I digress. I wish all of you the very best, and may the force be with you, always
