While the operation was going as smooth as it could, nothing was ever 100% clean. TOF called an audible and the leader was making a break for it. But Sasha was on it, pursuing their quarry. That part was out of his hands and he would depend on Sasha. His role was to protect Fimrati and himself. While the convoy was in shambles, its composition was still very much intact. His attention now fully turned to the speeder with the e-web in from of the "APC bus". The gunner took the pair of shots from his heavy pistol, but the passenger had already wheeled around, getting cover with his blaster carbine, snapping off whizzing shots towards Centiro. Instead of diving back behind the APC, he rolled across the dirt to come opposite of the soldier. They were now to either side of the speeder, popping off shots at one another. But Centiro never played fair. With his offhand, the 404 operative took his lightsaber and guided it underneath the speeder while ignited. Not watching beneath him, the soldier screamed in agony as the whizzing green lightsaber hummed through his legs, toppling him to the ground. The driver had already scrambled out of his seat and was darting away towards the street alleys.

He gets to be the one to tell the tale...

Centiro popped off a couple of haphazard shots towards the fleeing soldier's back, but ultimately let him escape. It would not be good enough to have just random witnesses--he needed a survivor for the attack...besides, Jedi wouldn't shoot a fleeing man in the back--that would be...well, not Jedi-like. With the speeder addressed, he looked over to Fimrati, seeing that she had things well in hand, both pistols smoking.

She is as good as advertised...

After the drop ship appeared it only took a minute to reach the area where Ingrid was. After landing, Ingrid stepped onto the vehicle with springy steps. Although she felt tired and she would be really good to fall asleep after a hot shower, she was able to do so even in this state. Last but not least, she could not show weakness in front of the Ultranauts. As soon as she got up, one of the soldiers had already given her the requested coffee.

<”Thank you! Take us back to the capital!”> she gave the order.

She sat down on one of the seats on the dropship and sipped her drink while they boarded. Fortunately she was able to make the journey to the capital in complete silence, rest. Especially that in the presence of her no one dared to speak, because Ingrid did not give permission to do so. Though perhaps because of the former events, she would have been better for her to hear others speak. But Ingrid didn't have much strength to speak. In vain did she drink her coffee, she had to struggle not to fall asleep while sitting.

Fortunately she won and they arrived in the capital in just a quarter of an hour, from where Ingrid went to the swamp. After landing, she got out of the dropship and headed for the barracks already set up. There she first asked for a new and clean uniform, it didn't matter if it didn't fit her too much. The fact of the clean dress mattered to her now. After a cold shower she changed into a clean dress and signaled to tell the Emperor that she had returned.

Until she got an answer rested a bit, she ordered that if she fell asleep, and the Emperor sent a message for her, she would wake her up immediately. In the worst case, if something happens, she should still wake it up. It was very uncharacteristic of Ingrid to sleep much, but now in the wake of the encounter with the entity, unless she woke up in the meantime, she slept for nearly a day and a half without waking up.

//OOC: This was my last post in the dominion, unless someone needs the lady and they wake her up because of it.//

When the hatch opened with the driver, she made sure that they didn't get much chance to react beyond. Once that was done, she stepped out of the APC and looked over to Centiro. Giving him a quick nod, she holstered her pistols and moved to checked to make sure that everything was in order for the rest of hte mission. She couldn't see the other operative, Sasha, but figured that she was either finishing up, or handling a another problem. "All handled here." She said to Centiro. For now, the job was as close to finish as she was aware of, so unless given a new objective by Centiro, it was a matter of waiting to leave.

After the Tof Leader squirted down a side alley from the main market street where he had used a body double in the APC bus as a safety precaution, Sasha went after him on foot with a burning passion within. The Dark Jedi in her hated to be tricked. He would definitely pay for this.

As she chased the target down, he pulled a blaster hidden under his cloak and twisted to shoot backward at her in defense. It did not deter the Unit 404 operative as she ignited her lightsaber and simply batted the red blaster bolts back with her magenta-colored blade deftly striking his body in a disabling pattern rather than going for a quick kill. He stumbled, then fell onto the ground in a heap obviously still alive but writhing in pain.

The assassin smirked from behind her face covering as she stalked up to him. He kept trying to reach for his blaster and cursing at her in his native tongue, but he couldn't quite reach it as the Knight Warden used the Force to nudge it just a little bit farther from his grasp each time he clawed for it. As Sasha finally stood over him, she could sense from the others the mission was coming to an end quickly. If time would have permitted, the Dark Angel would have found pleasure in playing cat and mouse with her kill a little bit more before ending his pathetic life, but... that was not to be today. She sighed heavily, then made a quick cut across the man's throat with the still humming blade.

Needing to move on since her part of the mission was completed, Sasha checked the Tof Leader's person quickly for anything that may be useful such as a data stick with critical info to his organization and allies, then she jogged further down the alley and onto another street blending innocently in the crowds to rendezvous with Centiro Centiro and Fimrati Vailyippin Fimrati Vailyippin at their exfil point as the Lamb or Green Prince, in this case, had indeed been silenced.

Centiro deactivated his lightsaber as the last of the convoy protectors was either dispatched or sent away. Triggering his voice modulator that subtly changed his voice a bit deeper, the operative modified his voice pattern to possess a slight Correllian accent, “Jedi business. Go about your day without fear. You are free from these ‘criminals’.”

The bystanders did not need to be told twice. They scurried back into the throngs of the market and the buzz of trade and interaction began again. Centiro did not know if the people here would be relieved or resistant once they came under the Eternal Empire’s rule. He suspected the former. During his team’s time surveilling the area, they seemed a hard-working community, which meant they could thrive under his employer’s rule.

Over his transmitter, Centiro relayed, “Excellent job. Rendezvous at the speeder.”

From around the corner from the attack, a covered 4-person speeder lied in wait for the small team. At first glance, it looked like the speeder had been there for many days—because it had. Unit 404 staged their escape vehicle a week ago, ready for this very moment. Centiro gave a light jog around the corner from the Tof fortress to the waiting speeder. He fired up the repulsors and waited on his team. While he waited, Centiro punched in the coordinates to his ship, which was hidden among a rocky formation with a large outcropping. The paint job had been redone to a nice desert pattern which blended nicely into the local terrain.

As soon as Fimrati and Sasha piled into the speeder, the made their way out of the city of Raytaf…

The job done, Fimrati merely nodded at the people before following suit, and heading for the speeder. She was holstering her pistols as she did so, focusing on the people around them, making sure no one was looking to be a 'hero', instead of the actions that facilitated her putting the weapons away instinctively. Once she was sure no one was, she turned into the side street, and gave a slide over the hood as she moved for the passenger side front seat while Centiro punched in the directions they'd be taking.

Pulling the hood off her head once she was in the vehicle, she merely looked out on the people. "What's the next job?" She asked bluntly, already thinking of what lay ahead of them instead of feeling the need to reflect back on what they'd just accomplished. After all, that was what she'd signed up for with that contract. Sure, it meant she was basically on retainer for the Eternal Empire, but considering she was still considered a somewhat free agent still, to pursue goals that the Black Sun had that aligned with the Empire's when not specifically on task for the Unit.

Objective: Keep an eye on Aurelion
A shiver went down Taozi's spine when she felt a presence she didn't know reach out for the mind of her student. She turned her head, and narrowed her eyes to watch over Sterling, though when it became clear it was no malicious intent, her focus moved elsewhere. There were so many refugees that needed aid. Bandages were being run back and forth between members of Clan Tal, and the desert heat was going to catch up to them eventually.

And then Aurelion called her "Buir" for the first time.

Her attention snapped to her son, and she smiled as he spoke in Mando'a. His pronunciation wasn't quite right, but he was almost there. He called her "Buir" instead of "Miss Taozi" and it was the best thing Taozi had heard today, honestly. She tilted her head curiously as he knelt beside her, saying he could help the clan.

Oh.

Taozi smiled proudly down at her son, and gently placed a hand on his head, ruffling his hair slightly. She kept an eye on him, and frowned when his body began to tremble from the effort he was putting in. It pained her to see her son struggle even slightly. So, though she was no expert in battle meditation, Taozi knew she could be a battery of sorts for Aurelion.

Sending her own energy to fuel the meditation would aid everyone, and that was what she was here to do.

"<I'll help you, don't worry. You're doing great, Aurelion. I'm very proud of you and what you're doing.>"

Taozi rubbed her thumb on Aurelion's head as she sent him energy through the Force. She only hoped she could provide enough energy to ease the burden her son had taken upon himself to bear.

The Twi'lek was clearly insane, but from her ramblings, the Emperor could begin to gleam her motivations. She could be kept under control, all he had to do was dangle enough interesting projects in front of her, to keep her occupied. As distasteful as this arrangement was, her skills as an alchemist were invaluable.

"The Eternal Empire does not condone or tolerate slavery," Tacitus reiterated. "It is a rot upon the society we are trying to build, a society based on meritocracy, order and hard work, not on hedonistic, self-indulgent practices. We do, however, have a number of Ssi-Ruuvi prisoners in our facilities, captured during several of their failed raids into Imperial space," the Warlord said. "As they themselves are guilty of the crimes of slavery and piracy, their lives are forfeit and thus, they may be transferred to your department for use as test subjects."

It was time to test his theory about her.

"As for an expansion of your research facilities, you will have the necessary funding and personnel," he said to her. "I will sign an executive order to authorize the expansion of your department, but I want to see tangible results, otherwise funding and assets will be pulled and redirected to other endeavors."

There. A simple application of the age-old carrot and stick method. The Emperor would gradually hammer home the idea that her compliance would be rewarded, while failure would be punished by taking her toys away. As he spoke, his feline eyes scanned her features for even the subtlest reaction.

"New here, are you?" the smuggler asked the Twi'lek woman. He could tell by the way she fidgeted, not knowing what to do and where to go. "Don't worry, you're not the only one," Will said. "Me and my, uhh, girlfriend, haven't been here long, either." Girlfriend? Lover? What was the right word for what Karma Jayne Karma Jayne was to him? He hadn't thought about this before, but he found himself liking the sound of that word.

"Anyway, I should introduce myself. I'm Will. Will Westender," he said. Pointing behind him at the sleek, triangular freighter parked a short distance away, he continued. "Captain of the the Firebird. Fastest ship in the galaxy. Its no Star Destroyer, but it can outrun anything ever built by hand, tentacle, or other appendages."

Gauging the motivations of the rebels' new recruits, figuring out what drove them to join the rebellion, was part of his job as an Imperial spy. Well, kind of. The Empire wouldn't be interested in what made some random rebel tick, not unless they could use that somehow, but he was feeling rather bored and this was as good an excuse as any to engage in conversation. All the other rebels seemed to have split off into their own little groups and he didn't really know any of them, either.

"Might I ask, what brings you here?" Will said. "You don't seem like you're from the Unknown Regions, there aren't a lot of Twi'leks around these parts. Its not the most... well traveled part of the galaxy."

The Fieldmarshall stood at the head of his officers, silent, implacable as the prisoners were marched in by their Ultranaut captors. Bloodied, beaten and broken, dressed in filthy, scorched rags that were once some kind of makeshift uniforms, or cultural clothing, they were what was left of the three insurgent groups in the city.

When the Empire had landed, the capital was being torn apart by a violent ethnic conflict, practically all areas of the city under the control of one of the three organizations, but now, in the span of a few short days, the Eternal Empire had driven the insurgents off the streets and into the surrounding wilderness, where their last remnants were being hunted down by Imperial agents and bounty hunters. Order had returned to Trenwyth, returned at the point of a blaster.

The prisoners were marched to the center of the square and lined up in front of T-shaped contraptions, erected there by the occupation forces. They were to be the fate of these insurgents, a message to the rest of the planet, to let them all know what the new order was around these parts. "Prisoners. You have been found guilty of sedition against the Eternal Empire, terrorism, armed rebellion and genocide," the Fieldmarshall spoke. The trial had been broadcast across the entirety of the planet and beyond, now it was time for the conclusion, the grand finale of the show.

"By the power vested in me by the State, as decreed by this military tribunal, I have determined a punishment befitting of your crimes. For your vile acts, you are hereby sentenced to be tortured to death," the Fieldmarshall decreed, causing the prisoners to whimper and beg for mercy, some falling to their knees. "Silence!" the Fieldmarshall cut them off. "This is the Eternal Empire. And in the Eternal Empire, the rule of law is absolute! No mercy is granted to those who break the law and it will certainly not be granted to you."

"Soldiers,"
he called, prompting the Ultranauts to snap to attention. Taking a few steps forward, the Fieldmarshall sealed the prisoners' terrible fate. "Crucify them."

For a moment, a small fleeting thing she felt a chill going up her spine. A feeling almost too human for herself to believe in it, perhaps that was her mind trying to warn her how far she could go? Or perhaps was the excitement with the idea of butchering those big lizards and tearing them limb from limb to create something beautiful. At least those things were fun enough for her to occupy her time as she researched her truest work, her grand plan, her magnus opus, her perfection.

‘Not now, big red, calm down and focus on what is ahead. The masterwork will be left for later, I have more than enough time to waste on those pets.’, she thought to herself and without realizing she had the fingernail of her thumb inside her mouth, as her teeth constantly bite that, trying to calm herself and keep quiet. Thinking about what she really wanted had that effect on her.

"Huh?", Her mouth murmured as her attention turned to that of the Emperor in front of her. That man had the expression of someone stern, someone in desperate need to take a relaxing bath and drink something, she had more than enough drugs to give him if he needed it, but she had heard that those eternal creatures had little appreciation. for those things. ‘All work and no play make Sanguine very dull’, a voice whispered inside her mind, as she smiled, a big open smile with sharp teeth showing for the overlord of that government.

“Off course, your imperial sire. No slavery., She remarked to him in a calm tone of voice, almost like those of a serpent. Although she had little belief in these philosophy, if someone’s life was forfeit and so were their rights wasn’t he a slave already? Or something even lower than a slave. At least a slave had use for her, but she could do something out of those colorful lizards, although she wasn’t yet sure as to where to begin. She measured her words in her mind before speaking them. “I am very, very, very grateful for your confidence in the hands of evolution, sire, I ensure you that I will not disappoint or let this go to waste. A perfect chance for my research, to reach for the stars!”, Her hand went up in the ceiling, almost as if she danced. "To spit in the face of the forces of the universe and bring the reigns of history back into the hands of Man!" back on yourself as if to catch your breath. For her, there, at that moment, there was at least something she liked very much about that government, for she too was after it, a chase into eternity.

“Do forgive, sire. Sometimes I get carried away with the goal of my old self. ”, She straightened up and returned to an upright and well-behaved posture, although her face showed something contrary to that. The golden eyes focused on the emperor in his seat, while she waited for him. “Tell me, sire, besides all of that talk about order and bla bla bla, what are the goals of your lordship as emperor? Don’t you desire to achieve more? Yes? ”

Aurelion bristled with happiness as he felt Taozi was proud of him. A pleasant tingle spreading over his scalp and down his body in a wave of happiness that made his eye water as she ruffled his hair, a warm, swelling feeling filling his chest and stomach as he also felt her began to try and provide energy to him. Though Taozi was even less trained than he was it helped immensely and, as he felt this, Aurelion would reach up and gently grip Taozi's hand with his own. A silent tear running down his cheek as he sniffled and continued his Battle Meditation.

Through his ability all present would be able to feel a warm, fuzzy feeling of happiness and invigoration, a warmth blooming in the chest like a flower coming to life. A pleasant, buzzing sensation in the stomach like a million butterflies and a homey, comforting sense of happiness and enervation for each and every person who could feel him. His slight shaking stopping as Aurelion released the ability after another few moments and wiped at his eye, not saying anything at all as he looked down and hunched his shoulders.

It was only after his grip on Taozi's hand tightened on Taozi's own that he would murmur in a soft voice "Th-Thank you."
