Imperialism
Strength: This major faction may attack hexes up to 8 hexes away from their nearest controlled hex, and may control hexes that aren't connected to their cloud.
Weakness: This Major Faction may only do two dominions per month, and may not request help from other factions at any time to simulate the logistics and manpower issues of having territory that isn't connected to the capital/main body.
The Idea: The factions in Chaos are all big chunks on the map. This Mandate allows a faction to have a divided cloud at the cost of expansion speeds and allies. In theory, a faction could consist of two, three, maybe four clouds with a few hexes each.
Pros:
*Realistic to Life, AND Star Wars
*More diversity in factions, as well as more choices
*Helps factions created on the basis of revolution by allowing them to have a cloud that's divided, like Small pockets of resistance.
*Interesting scenarios can present themselves.
Cons:
-Can look Ugly on the map
-May be annoying to some major factions.
-Slightly complicated, as it's a change to the current status quo of factions having one hugefart cloud of influence.
Star Wars Examples:
The Empire and The Republic: As you can see on the Map Below, The Sith Empire has a pocket to the far East, a small "island" to the north, and two large clouds to the South. The Republic (Blue) has two isolated sections in the middle, to the Left and Right, as well as three "islands" to the far west.
Galactic Republic vs Separatists: The Separatists had 3 Big clouds and 2 small clouds of influence/land. The Republic had one huge cloud, as well as two small pockets in the North East.
Real Life Examples:
Germany, 1936: Germany was decimated after WW1. They lost a ton of territory and Poland was released. Poland took territory near Germany, leaving an isolated section of land in the East split by Poland's land.
The British Empire at it's Peak: Britain had land from one sea to the other. They had land in every continent. From Africa to North America to Asia and Australia.
Japan, 1940's: Japan conquered a ton of land in the 1940's leading up to WW2. They had countless islands, as well as territory in China, and Indochina.
