Imperial Justice: Stow Away

Location: Bastion

A Sith-Imperial Courier dove down to the starport and gracefully landed on the landing pad. As the engines hummed to a stop a ramp from the underbelly of the vessel slowly dropped down where two well dressed agents proceeded a restrained Twi'lek who was followed by another agent from behind. To greet them game a squad of legionnaires preforming security for this particular part of the starport. The squad's sergeant saluted the trio of agents who gave him a respectful nod in return "Welcome to Bastion, my squad and I have been tasked with taking the prisoner to the interrogation." said the sergeant from behind his helmet "Very well, this one is your problem now. He shouldn't give you any trouble. Will you?" asked the female agent. Rach'ta did not respond. There was more for him to think about than the agent's taunts. He had to prepare himself for the worst "We have other matters to attend to." one of the male agents reminded her "Lets not keep our superiors waiting for our report." with that Rach'ta was given to the squad of legionnaires who escorted him to the designated building for his interrogation.

Bastion, the limited amount of the planet that Rach'ta was able to glimpse, was far different than Korriban. It was also drastically different than Nar Shaddaa, Rhen Var, or Mandalore. He shouldn't have been surprised but these were his first weeks of interplanetary travel and the novelty hadn't quite worn off. As the group's airspeeder halted at a reception dock and the Twi'lek was pushed forward by the butt of the blaster carbines he looked up and saw [member='Vanessa Vantai'] standing before him in front of a grim looking monolithic building.

@Rach’ta

“You know, there are few things in life I get to truly enjoy.” Vanessa said. “Relaxation is one of those things, and I loathe to get interrupted.” She said as she looked the prisoner over - a Twi’lek. How interesting that she out of everyone had been given this particular prisoner to break.

“Come on.” She said, gently grasping him by the shoulder as the agents would leave the two of them alone. “Might as well get the basics down while we’re on the way to your new home. I’m Vanessa Vantai. You are?” Names were the simplest enough pleasantries.

Rach'ta didn't seem very fond of the situation he was in, she seemed ominous to a degree "I am Rach'ta." he responded suspiciously "I did not see you on Rhen Var or Nar Shaddaa." he posed the observation "And what do you mean by 'new home'?" there wasn't much he could do at the moment. He did not know this place and he did not have high hopes for the treatment he would receive at the hands of this new Sith Empire.

"I wasn't there. Had other things to focus on." She said. Truth be told, her motivation for actively assisting the Sith cause had become somewhat minimal - so engrossed in her projects was she. This was a rare moment for Vanessa in which she came out of her territorial enclave and actively did something. "And what I mean by 'new home' is that you're going to be staying here for a while." She smiled. Here was a perfect opportunity for her to test the principles that she had learned from [member="Kay Larr"]'s incapacitation - while the brain of a Twi'lek was certainly different in form from that of a human, given the mass of grey matter within the lekku, the principles behind such were still the same. This would be an interesting opportunity to test how her newly developed capabilities would work.

And perhaps get some screams out of it too.

"Well, what is this place anyway? My guides weren't very informative." he looked around for a brief moment then back towards Vanessa "I'm sure they already told you that I'm not a spy, apparently I'm not smart enough to be one - according to those people who just left." he gestured with his shoulder moving back towards the airdock "I was hoping to have something to eat, they didn't give me any breakfast and its been a long trip. Come to think of it I don't think I've had anything besides field rations for two days." where he was from there wasn't a lot to go around, but what they did have was at least filling.

"An interrogation chamber." She said. "It's been a good while since I've gotten to interrograte someone." She popped her knuckles. "So, there are a couple of questions I suppose we should start with." She finally led her associate into the chamber, the door automatically closing and locking behind her. "I suppose the first is, why did you run the blockade and stowaway?" She sighed. Was it cowardice? She didn't know, but she certainly planned to find out.

Regardless as to what it took.

"You would have in my position." he peered through the veil that obscured his eyes "I saw the Force around the Sith on Nar Shaddaa. The Force touches all however some are gifted with a more intense endowment. Your Emperor when he captured the walls was a bonfire, those that surrounded him - the mundane - were obscured by his presence. I have heard, and read the texts, of the great Dark Lords who are entombed in the sacred sands of Korriban. There has not been a Dark Lord worthy enough to claim a monument there in many, many years." the Twi'lek spoke the next words with foreboding "The Force yearns for Champions in both its light and shadow to do battle, to balance itself. This is how it has always been. It balanced itself on Rhen Var by culliing both Jedi and Sith. Perhaps your Emperor would claim not only a tomb of his own, the adoration of his subjects, but also anointment by the Force itself as its chosen. That is why I did what I did. I walked in his wake and observed. Unfortunately I was not able to see him again before I was taken prisoner by your people." Rach'ta paused for a moment "What else do you want to know? I have nothing to hide."

“So your rationale for this ultimately boils down to you believing in the whole “balancing act” concept of how the Force supposedly counterbalances when one side gets too powerful for its own good.” She sighed. “As someone who has known Kaine since well before he became a Emperor, I can assure you he certainly would receive a tomb on this otherwise dead world - though this presumes he will die, or stay dead for that matter. Kaine is fully capable of surviving in the event of his destruction and no monument will be built until the Empire is certain his spirit no longer exists. And the chances of that happening are minimal.”

She sighed. “You were simply a foolish dream seeker, lusting after an ideology. The truth is that we as Sith eventually grow stagnant, our empire eventually crumbling as weak rulers supplement those that are strong. This lets our Jedi rivals destroy all we have worked to build, only to repeat the process once they too grow stagnant. Preparations must be made in order to prevent the inevitable from occurring.” She turned back to Rach’ta.

“You will remain here in detention for a week’s timespan, eating nothing but a single meal of bread and water per day. Upon that week’s release, you will be provided with a Force Collar and sent to the Korriban academy for re-education in the ways of the Sith. Heed my words - as you relearn that which you have forgotten, prepare for the Sith’s, pardon the irony, darkest hour.”
