SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Distinctive: Imperial Field Armor allows its wearer to be easily identified by friendly forces during the chaos of battle.
  • Lightweight: Imperial Field Armor is rather lightweight and comfortable to wear for extended periods of time
  • Inspiring: The sight of an Imperial Officer engaging in the same risks as enlisted soldiers can be a rather inspiring sight, motivating them to fight much harder than they might otherwise
  • Stylish: Though beauty is said to be in the eye of the beholder, most would agree that Imperial Field Armor is a rather stylish display of Imperial might
  • Inexpensive: Because its utilizes pre existing armor parts in its construction, Imperial Field Armor is relatively inexpensive and simple to manufacture
WEAKNESSES
  • Distinctive: Anyone wearing Imperial Field Armor becomes an immediate target for enemy attack, as the death of an officer can often turn the tide of battle
  • Exposed: Though it has relatively good coverage, Imperial Field Armor does leave critical portions of the body exposed to attack
  • Sensitive Data: As Imperial Field Armor often comes equipped with an Officer's Disk and Code Cylinders, it is quite possible for sensitive data to fall into the wrong hands should the armor be captured or stolen
  • Scarce: Because it is only ever issued to high ranking Imperial Officers, the use of Imperial Field Armor is a relatively scarce sight on the battlefield
  • Logistical Nightmare: The use of multiple armor sets in the construction of Imperial Field Armor can make maintenance and repair of the armor difficult
DESCRIPTION

Historically speaking, Imperial Officers have often be associated with negative connotations, due to perceived incompetence, cowardice or a combination of both. To remedy this, the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant has forced its officers to take a more active role in their troop management, often deploying them in the field with the men, women and aliens under their command.

By the same token, the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant is also very much invested in the continued survival of their officers, and has spearheaded a number of initiatives to ensure that they return from the field of battle. One of these initiatives was the creation of Imperial Field Armor, a lightweight yet durable armor set that was designed to be as visually distinct as possible, much like in the same way that Chrome Guardian armor is designed to be visually distinct.

The reason for this design choice is simple: officers need to be visible to the troops under their command at all times, so that they can effectively communicate and give commands to them. It is believed that enlisted soldiers seeing their officers engage in the same risks that they do will inspire them to fight more fervently and more effectively, though this high visibility makes anyone donning Imperial Field Armor an especially tempting target...
