STRENGTHS

• Heavily armored: The Imperial Armored Assault Tank, or IAAT, is heavily armored and able to withstand most forms of attack before it is destroyed.
• Infantry killer: The IAAT's flame projector melts through most infantry with ease, and can inflict massive psychological trauma to anyone unfortunate enough to witness the weapon in action
• Bunker buster: The IAAT's energized projectile launchers can fire a variety of different munitions, allowing it to be rather effective against enemy infantry, armor and even structures
• Battlewagon: The IAAT is capable of carrying up to six soldiers on the outside of its hull. Each passenger has completely unobstructed vision and is able to lend the firepower of whatever weapon they are carrying
• Repulsorlift: The repulsorlift system of the IAAT allows it to avoid low lying obstacles by simply hovering over them

WEAKNESSES

• Clunky: The IAAT is a slow and unmaneuverable vehicle, only capable of reaching up to 55 kilometers per hour
• Infantry killer: The removal of the IAAT's heavy laser cannon has made the vehicle far less effective against enemy armor
• Limited capacityL Each IAAT is only capable of holding a small number of projectiles for its energized projectile launchers, limiting the amount of damage it can inflict with this weapon system

DESCRIPTION

First developed for use by the Trade Federation, the AAT soon became a mainstay vehicle of Confederation of Independent System forces. After the end of the Clone Wars, however, the Galactic Empire seized the remaining AATs and sent them to planets like Mahporeem to be either scrapped for parts or refurbished for potential allies.

One such group of potential allies were the Trandoshans of the planet Trandosha, who used these modified AATs to hunt down and subjugate the Wookiees of Kashyyyk. The newly christened Imperial Armored Assault Tank's heavy flamethrower was found to be particularly effective in Kashyyyk's jungle and forest environment, and the vehicle was used to great effect on the planet's surface.

After the fall of the Galactic Empire, Mahporeem immediately cancelled all remaining deliveries of the IAAT to the Trandoshans and simply kept them for themselves, deploying the tanks alongside unmodified AATs. The IAAT is an unparalleled infantry killer while still retaining some of its anti-vehicle and anti-structure functionality, thanks to its 6 hull mounted energized projectile launchers.
